💯 takes money to make money. Health testing Feeding Yearly vet bills Emergency vet bills C-section Sick litter (Giardia, coccidia etc) Litters shots, ear crops, deworming etc Reinvestment That’s just a small list of things to think about fam. You need to have saved a good chunk of change or have access to a loan for the What if’s. Call you Vet and see how much it will cost of you need an emergency c-section, cost to vaccinate the litter, dewormer etc. Hope for the best, be prepared for the worst! Cheers 🍻

Great video bro. Before I first got into breeding i did all my research. Made sure I did everything correct. And still things went wrong. Dog had a c section. Lost 5 out of the 8 pups. Once you include Vet bill etc there we wasn't much $$ left over. People don't realize its not that simple.

I would like to know in your experience what would cause an OEB to produce only 2 pups out of 3 breedings. The first two breedings nothing and the third breeding 2 pups. Having gone thru all the variables with her ie. absorbing her litters etc. plus she had no desire to look after the 2 pups she had on her last litter plus due to the fact that they were large pups, they came out as Swimmer pups, of which with therapy I gave them that issue was resolved. She is 3 yrs old this Oct. 22nd and she was bred starting at 2 yrs old. She last came into heat in Jan./21 and again this Sept.14/21. She is getting time off this Sept. heat. She is of good lineage, Blue papered Lilac Tri, registered with the IOEBA in the USA. Now, with all the costs and basically no returns I'm at a standstill until more money can be drummed up. I have a desire to try her one more time on the next heat she has. Also, this has been my first OEB to start this business. The question is, what is your honest opinion on this start-up business dog. It has been a shit show from the get-go and am really disappointed about it.

How can you stud your dog out at 1:00 when OFA doesn't accept hip x-rays till they're two? Shouldn't you wait till the dog is fully mature and you know you don't have any existing issues that you're going to pass on?
Good question. If you are working with your own bloodline and you are dealing with dogs that are alreafy OFA cleared you may go ahead. Also, Some argue that dysplasia is not genetic and is caused by environmental factors more than genetics. Some vets even side with that frane of thought.
With the females short time span of productivity, it seems you would accumulate many females after their productive years. What do you do with the females after spayed?

Males can reproduce at six months of age but they arent fully grown Yet so you want to avoid certain activities that "may cause them harm" such as breeding prior to growth plate closure. The part where they have to cross their legs to end up in the copulatory tie position can be tricky and 'may cause harm". Just be cautious Is all im saying but to each His own

@@QBNKennel my husband is a veterinarian and does many OFAs. Can't always rely on the parents as it can come down the line. Just food for thought

I have 6 month female micro exotic I did the dna on her so she's now dna certified and she has structure short and thick im also waiting for her 3rd heat and have a male lined up with structure and pedigree

@@henry.g.9093 you want to avoid any injury to your stud. Males can reproduce at six months of age but they arent fully grown Yet so you want to avoid certain activities that "may cause them harm" such as breeding prior to growth plate closure. The part where they have to cross their legs to end up in the copulatory tie position can be tricky and 'may cause harm". Just be cautious Is all im saying but to each His own
