    Thank you for the clear and easy instructions. Wish I'd checked this out before purchasing my fur baby. She had Parvo 5 days after my purchase. 1,300 dollars later, she survived this deadly disease, thank God. Learned my lesson the hard way. I asked the Vet what age I could breed her he said 1yr is ok. WRONG!!!. Learn my lesson she's not good with the litter. Take this guy's advice.

    My precious lab died after 13 years it’s been two or three years within that time I’ve developed allergies what do you think of Labradoodles your opinion please

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never owned a Labradoodle but I have met a few. They seem to be wonderful pets! The owners report the excellent temperament and behavior of a Lab. That combined with the hypoallergenic benefits of the Poodle breeds and you can have the best of both with this mix. I would suggest you spend some time around them and see if it’s a good fit for you. 👍

      @sharibowman7382 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've noticed it's very hard to find a reputable breeder for doodles. It really depends what you're looking for in a dog. No doodle is guaranteed to be low allergy and many breeders will lie about their puppies to sell them :(

    • @smackpointgsps1476
      @smackpointgsps1476 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sadly, doodles are rarely hypoallergenic. The idea behind them was to make hypoallergenic guide dogs. After just 4 litters the program was scrapped because they produced only a couple of hypoallergenic puppies in four litters. Please don't believe the hypoallergenic claims. If you want a true hypoallergenic dog, there are quite a few purebred breeds that will suit you, including the poodle, the bichon frise, lagotto romagnolo, Portuguese water dog, the list goes on. Do a little research and you'll find a good, reputable breeder that will have the right pup for you.

      I am allergic to dogs but I have two short-haired dogs. When you live with a dog you develop antibodies and your allergy will pass. Your love for the dig will help. That loving hormone also boosts your immunity. New mums and dads have loads of it too, just when they are so knackered that they would otherwise get really run down.

    Great Video thanks! I am just starting out and looking into purchasing dogs. I was just wondering if it matters if a dog is not listed as having a champion blood line/Sire? If the breeder has great reviews and the puppies have full AKC registration does lack of a champion blood line or sire matter?

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great question! Does champion blood line matter? That depends entirely on who you are talking to. Some people want that very much and are willing to pay top dollar for it. Others could care less and won’t pay the extra money that champion pedigree pups sell for. It is typical for the champion lines to sell for at least twice the price of non champions lines. There are also far less customers looking for expensive dogs. I suggest you choose which market you want to deal with and buy accordingly.

    • @must_love_labs

      With labradors we wait for the third heat. I don’t have any experience with Great Danes. I would check with your vet and see what they have to say. It might be fine. 👍

    Hi sir. I enjoy your content, I have a question if you don't mind, how does the spay neuter contract work? in other words, how do they "force" you to fix your dog? I'm planning on getting a female chihuahua from a breeder (an apple head chihuahua, not as easy to find) not that I want to become a breeder but I want to have the option of having my dog to have puppies in a future.

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! There are a couple of things to consider here. First off if you give your word in a contract to spay or neuter a dog then you should. Secondly it’s not really very enforceable but what they can do is prevent you from registering the puppies of your dog. So if you agree to spay or neuter and then you go back on your word and choose not to the breeder who sold you the dog can prevent you from registering the puppies. That’s all based on AKC registrations by the way. Other registries might not be so enforceable. In summary if you don’t intend to spay or neuter your dog then you should never agreed to do so in writing. Just find a dog from a different breeder that doesn’t require that.

    Hi. Love your channel. Having had labs as family pets over the past 20 years, we are considering breeding as we now have the time and space to do so. Just wondering would you advise buying a male and female at the same time, or would you advise to buy one first and then the other at a later stage? If the latter is the case, which would you buy first and how long would you wait to buy the other? Thanks in advance

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! I’d get a female first. Then get a male a year later. We like our females to be around two years old when they have their first litter of puppies. Great tips! I have a question. When you are looking to buy a dog from a breeder for the purposes of breeding. What are some things you should say, or not say? Should I be describing my goals? Should I be asking for mentorship?

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There’s a lot of ground to cover here. I’ll probably address this question in another q & a video. When you’re talking to the Breeder about buying breeding stock for your business you want to be honest and stick to the business at hand. Tell them exactly what you’re looking for and ask them to be honest about whether or not they have it. You can mention your specific goals for that puppy and ask if it’s a good fit for what they’re selling. As for mentorship… That’s a completely different conversation to have after you’ve established some trust and credibility.

    I am working with a reputable breeder. I am planning to pick up my female puppy personally in January. She charges $500 extra for full registration with breeding rights. She has one available now, but I'm not quite ready as I am moving this Summer. It will be another 2 years plus before first litter. Its a long term commitment. I hate puppy mills with a passion!! We must report abuse when we see it. Thank you for a great video.

      @@ieraiacevedo8397 Hi, I just read your comment and I thought I’d share my buying experience with you. I bought my pure bred English Labrador Retriever a little over 2 years ago. I had to go out of my county because they were so expensive, the cheapest one I found was $2300.00. I found my darling little girl about 90 minutes from where I live, she was much cheaper at, $800.00, but if you wanted the rights to breed and get the AKC for registration, the cost was $200.00. I now realize how lucky I was, after listening to his videos, he mentioned that the fee is usually $300.00 and higher. I was able to Register my pup easily, they ask you to give your dog two names, there can’t be duplicate names at the AKC. We named her Rylie Mae, I had to change the spelling, but it worked and I like it better, it seems more feminine then masculine. I hope that my answer to you helped. So altogether I spent $1000.00 for her with the AKC and the rights to breed. Have you decided on what breed you’re getting?
      Good Luck and enjoy breeding, it really is a lot of work, but it’s so much fun! Watching those pups grow and seeing their personalities form. And those 8 weeks go by pretty fast!! So enjoy while you can. Bye 🐶. 🦮 🐕‍🦺 🐩
