I am on my final year as a male student nurse on placement . I am thinking of quitting the course. My mental health has suffered during these years I guess there is still bias towards male nurses or maybe just when you are male East Asian student nurse. They think just because you're being a nice Eastern Asian student you are stupid. People treat you differently and less than students from other nationalities.

Hello friend. This is so sad to read that you are experiencing this. What I would advise anyone, is to not do something that is making you so unhappy. Life is far too delicate and short. However, you've made it to final year, so clearly you are determined and capable to work through such obstacles which demonstrates that you are not 'stupid or less than others'. You're doing amazingly well to work through such a difficult course, while experiencing such negative things. Have you spoken to staff at the university and in the hospital about your experiences? Regardless of if you decide to leave the course or not, I would urge you to discuss what you are feeling with the people who are responsible for this. I made a video on how to have important conversations that may help you to formulate how you may want to discuss this with this. You have raised very important points of your experiences and we need to learn from them and support you.
Please, before you make your final decision, talk to people that need to listen. I'm here for you and rooting for you, whatever you decide and if I can help, please do just shout!
      Ben
