  • Chamillionaire is considered to be a "One Hit Wonder." Most people look at that as a bad thing. But now he is worth over $50 million dollars by quitting music entirely and moving into a whole new career.

Chamillionaire is the perfect example of taking a chance with the opportunity you are given, he had a successful rap career, was able to invest, and now is set up for life. Alot of times many people become blind to the money they have and think it becomes an endless pit, but Chamillionaire saw an opportunity and knew that you can lose everything in a matter of seconds and dedicated himself to getting more money. That's a win-win situation for me

If you followed chamillionaire, you know he wasn't just a one hit wonder & moved differently from the average rapper... he dropped plenty of classic mixtapes & was making good investments. He's also still collecting checks from his one hit song.. Very smart guy!

    • @MyRegardsToTheDodo

I personally never understood why being a one-hit-wonder was so bad. I mean, that's one hit more than most people will ever get and if you're clever you can make a comfortable living off of one hit. Lou Bega for example had a world wide hit with "Mambo Number 5", and I am pretty sure he still receives paychecks because of that song. He once said in an interview that he can now do whatever he wants and do the music he wants to do, even if it isn't successful in any way, that one hit will pay for it.

Buffet's investing acumen may be well respected but realize the era he came from and his father being a politician helped him create 'smarter' investments where it was ideal to buy low/sell high. Chamillionaire's situation is one where the deck was stacked against him but used his business sense to not get screwed in typical arrangement that artists have with the record label industry. Problem with some of the rappers coming in young in that relationship is they don't realize how screwed they are.
