    Yeah, and now in EVERY fantasy book we have “shadow daddies”, who not only have the same abilities, but look almost exactly the same.
    When I was reading the description of Xaden Riorson I was like - Rhys, is that you? Sometimes it’s impossible to tell them apart

    Okay, I'm an Author and here for the drama. I'm highly amused because "stealing the plot" is mostly a big concern of young writers. But it's not a thing. People just get itchy because ofcause they are unique and special. It's not the case. In a forum or was it FB (it was ages ago) 5 writers got all siency and tryed on purpose to write the same book and failed using the SAME plotoutline and they somehow came up with 5 entierly diffrent books. The focus of the plot shifted, the point of view, the way problems were solved and created ofcorse skill levels were differet.
    I also remember that guy that wanted help in a writing group and wouldn't tell us his super secret totally unique plot idea. We convinced him to tell us since you know what could one do without knowing. I believed the entire forum facepalmed after hearing the plot. And tactless me was the first to ask if he intended a retelling of Jules Vernes Journey to the Center of the Earth. 😅 It sometimes just happens that a childhood memory get stuck in your head and you really don't remember it's not your own idea or you just have the same Idea as someone else.

    20:19 it’s an American tradition to name scandals that occur ‘gate’ after Watergate, a huge political scandal from forever ago. Not sure why it caught on exactly but it’s actually an ongoing reference that immediately lets us know that it’s a scandal that doesn’t have a nice resolution for whatever reason

But literally every single person I know irl, and some people i watch unrelated to book reviews (brittany broski) just cannot stop raving about ACOTAR books. Are they actually good and Sophie is a dedicated hater? Or do people just not know good books? Does anyone know other reliable booktubers that dislike Maas?

    31:20 I’m wondering if she’s saying this that because she’s from Nigeria that she’s some kind of scammer because of the Nigerian scam thing? Is she trying to say she’s being scammer? Oh yeah this is definitely it. For those who aren’t aware there’s a lot of operational scams and fraud that are based in Nigeria, which obviously the other author isn’t a part of and she is being racist lmao Lauren does NOT touch grass
    Edit: this would be like if someone pointed out that she’s from the south and said that she has then definitely married her cousin or some other horrible stereotype about southern people, so it’s best that we point out that hypocrisy but try not to make this worse by being narrow minded back at her, even if it’s unreasonably funny and kind of true because of how low Mississippi is on the education scale in America by state so maybe that actually has a lot to do with it so yunno what like if it’s true call a spade a spade as long as we don’t stoop to the /exact/ same level lmao

    1:07:56 we also have a huge problem with protestors everywhere (many public events have been interrupted by random protests, some happening at events I was personally at around Christmas, which again could become dangerous at any moment) and a MASSIVE border issue which is a huge strain on the economy (for the citizens who’s money goes to support them, our tax money) and law enforcement (who are not handling/ incapable of handling the situation, there are many cases of crimes committed by these people who are then released without bail, such as the man who beat a police officer in new York’s Times Square and was released with no bail the next day) its a complex issue that many people feel very charged about so I’m not trying to post any opinion about it here, just that it’s a very relevant issue in America right now especially in New York (where I live) and have been experiencing plus being flooded by media about.
    Edit: the pro Palestine protest thing and the border thing are also like totally unrelated lmao I don’t know what connects those two things and usually i know so again I think she has no idea what she’s on about even if her heart is in the right place allegedly (idk her lmao)

      @jasminv8653 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why do you call protestors a problem?

    • @QueenSiv
      @QueenSiv 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jasminv8653 it’s not the protest that’s the issue, but in general when a crowd gets rowdy with high emotion it can become dangerous if the crowd were to suddenly move or a fight were to break out, since there would be nowhere to run and people would get stomped on
      Edit: also idk if you’re American or not but there was an issue with pop up protests happening at unrelated American events such as Christmas gatherings, the thanksgiving day parade, and any other event that was inappropriate to protest the issue at, ultimately lowering the credibility of the movement similar to Just Stop Oil blocking roads

    1:07:28 this is such a sketchy subject to discuss because people get really heated about it, but the Bible is actually about the hebrews because it’s before the death of Christ. A lot of the stories are about their struggles and many include mistakes and misdeeds, which is why the stories are meant to be important lessons to people and why it’s often referred to as a blueprint for morals and for life. The issue becomes when people read a bad story and go “oh wow so everyone of these people suck” like some smooth brained individuals with no sense of nuance or context, but again, painting people with a broad brush is never a good way to treat any subject like this. Her comment isn’t saying that she has ill will towards those people, it’s just a complex subject that can’t be properly addressed by a tweet or a comment, because the subject contains many thousands of years of history at this point lol again she’s just kinda not the sharpest spoon in the drawer and has posted every thought of hers online for everyone to see

      the old testament is closely related to the jewish torah, but is very much not the whole bible. most christian denominations globally hold the new testament as much more important for their faith, and it's very VERY firmly written in times A.D.

      @@jasminv8653 again it’s a super complicated subject I’m grossly oversimplifying for the purpose of trying to elaborate why she said what she said. Christianity does come chronologically after Judaism and has much more relevant scripture to it after the Old Testament etc, but I can’t capture all that history in a TH-cam comment
