The drive axle appears to have been repaired before. However, its breakage probably is the result of the axle housing breaking. That allowed the outboard tapered roller to come loose and for the wheels to break off.
You don’t think that it’s carrying 4 times it’s gvw has anything to do with it?!
@@Marlin-56 My observation was what happened, not why it happened. "Why" might include overweight (as you suggest), road surface conditions, manufacturing defect, etc.
I know what you were implying. Did you also notice the lack of grease? It should have been everywhere with that truck leaning like that! I drove trucks for 50 years hauling similar materials. The trucks we used had tandem axles built much heavier than that. Poor maintenance and overloading is what caused that. I know they showed in the video them draining the housing, they didn't get that much out.
@@Marlin-56 Everything that you say is valid. But my comment was only about how the failure started and propagated. I feel blessed to be in a Christian, European-American society. If I lived in a Central-Asian, Moslem society, I would not have the multitude of choices that I enjoy here. My background is maintenance of heavy, off-road (mining) equipment.

工場で修理したホーシングは綺麗に洗浄して溶接等修理していましたが、現場に持って来たものは泥まみれ。中古品に取り替えましたね。
