My mom had bought the original Wipeout on a whim, and my family had a blast. It's a bad game that's really fun, due to, for the most part the rag doll physics. 10/10 lightning in a bottle
Yeah, the original Wipeout game was a bunch of fun because of ragdoll effects and the numerous glitches. The later games fixed the glitches and made the gameplay even more dull than it was before and none come close to as fun as the first one.
I loved the original Wipeout game for the Wii for the ragdoll effects and glitches too. I still die laughing whenever someone gets stuck on the sweeper, XD
I wouldn't even say it is a bad game... I had it too and it certainly wasn't good, but it wasn't bad when compared to pretty much every other Wii game not made by Nintendo. It controls ok.

+PBGGameplay Since I have played this game I can clarify a couple things you probably didn't know. Not that it helps the gameplay, but just things inside the game. 1. If you play single player, you unlock more levels, customization features, and characters that you can use / play with two players. 2. The customization ability for your characters adjusts your player's "stats" when playing the game. There is a small bar that shows the stats when you are customizing.

There's a hilarious glitch on the Viking stage's Wipeout Zone where the hammers launched the character so high it flew past the invisible barriers. Sometimes it hits so hard that it activates a "double/triple-voice glitch" where multiples of voice clips play over each other at weird pitches. It's funniest with the Furball mascot or Vanessa [forgotten last name].
I haven't even watched this yet but please play more. Please! The original ones were some of the funniest videos I've seen, and I already know this will be just as good, if not better!
