I always remember my Father checking the space in new shoes with his thumb to make sure there was about an inch of space inside and you confirm this with your comment about the last (since last determines the internal shoe volume) being 25mm from the end of the longest toe in the trace. However, since I started learning to make shoes all I ever hear is measure the foot whilst standing and add 10-12 mm toe allowance to work out the necessary shoe and thus last size. Its a little confusing... :) What you say makes more sense to me....
By the way, thank you very much for the effort you have made in making and uploading your videos. I believe they are unique in what they teach as a whole.

Why do you say that a women's last is only 16mm longer but a man's is 25mm longer? Perhaps this should be graded by foot length? What if a women's foot length is actually longer than the average men's foot length? Is it just thinking that women are not as active and do not need so much room? What if feet are exceedingly wide, female, longer than average female or male?

I could be very wrong here but I got the impression it was a fashion thing. traditionally men like to look like they have larger feet to compensate for insecurities and women prefer to look like they have smaller more delicate feet. fashions are changing with the culture but hand crafted shoes are often steeped in tradition. I don't make shoes though, just kinda gustimating.

La ragione è solo tecnica. La forma di una donna , solitamente, porta un tacco e parte della lunghezza viene rubata dal fiosso della forma ( parte dell'arco) che è curva ed accogliere un piede con un tallone sollevato dal tacco

E se la donna indossa un tacco paragonabile a quello dell'uomo, un tacco molto basso o uno stile piatto? Allora la forma della scarpa deve essere costruita con gli stessi parametri di quella maschile?

@@KatSchlitzEsattamente. L'unica differenza è nello stile della punta che sarà di qualche millimetro in più la lunghezza, se la moda richiede un modello di scarpa appuntita.
