It sounds like you’ve picked up some excellent habits 👍🏻 It’s great to hear a different perspective on what we do in the UK.

Tea FTW! Didn’t realise kettles weren’t common elsewhere until I moved to Tokyo for university

You should do a video solely about tea.

I was brought up in the U.S. and now have been back to the UK for 15 years, I still perfer coffee over tea even though im British. I think my days of living in the U.S. as a kid made me get hooked on coffee.

I'm in a similar boat. Born in England, grew up in the States, moved back to England for 18 years, and now back in the USA.
Was never really much of a hot drink person (unless it was rum-laden cocoa, Guatemalan for preference on both), but my wife has got me hooked on coffee first thing in the morning to start the neurons firing.
Having said that, if I get started drinking tea, I turn into a complete stereotype, and have difficulty stopping.

Tea is the nectar of THE GODS!!! Have your foxes figured out how to open your food recycling bins yet? It took ours about 3 weeks, but I live in London so they're crafty Cockney foxes?

Don't think I've ever seen a fox in my area but there are plenty of cats who like come in my garden.

Kim, what make and model is this kettle that boils water in about 45 seconds ? I only ever have the minimum recommended in mine and it probably takes more like two and a half minutes.

I have always used electric kettles for hot drinks, or indeed, anything that required the use of ‘boiling water.’ As for the rapidity of the kettles ability to bring water to the boil, that of course depends on its KW output and the volume of water in the kettle at the time.
Many years ago I bought a Breville OneCup, 3kw ‘kettle/water heater’ - which is still in use today. It holds 1.5 L of water, but, only heats and dispenses a mug full of boiling water at a time, in approx: 45 seconds. Any additional servings are similarly delivered in 45 seconds. It’s very quick and convenient and the boiling water tastes ‘fresh’. Rather, than the water in a full kettle that is boiled, re-boiled and re-boiled again etc. every time you make a hot drink during the day. Here is a link to the product, from Argos, when I bought mine, years ago the price was £10 cheaper. But, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one, when mine eventually stops working.

@@patriciaburke6639 Cheers, I wasn't expecting a reply quite like that. Spot on ! Thanks for the link.
I can honestly say that I have never seen one before as I only ever looked for things that were jug-kettle-like. I might have to sell the house and move into a hovel to afford it, but I will save all that time !

@@chrisbodum3621 Hi Chris, I like to go the extra mile with information lol. 😇. I am afraid that I made an assumption that you might be in the U.K. hence, the reference to Argos. The one that I referred to, was Breville’s early model, there are about 3 updated models now, with larger water capacity, variable temperature settings and one that filters all the water, prior to boiling. Naturally, these are more expensive. Unless of course you get get them at a reduced ‘sale’ price. Also, there is a collective saving in running costs as you are only heating a cup of water when required, rather than a kettle full of water for possibly one cup.
Anyway, the main thing is you now know the product exists, whether you are in the U.K. or somewhere else in the world, where something similar might be available. And as a final gesture, here is a TH-cam link showing two different model (bought in Asda) being demonstrated, enjoy!

The video was so knowledgable! I have been trying to search for TH-cam vid like yours that teaches the ideas in this vid. 🙌 🧑‍⚕️Your tip is like the vids from this awesome medical student Dr. Ethan. Ethan's explanations are actually useful and I really learned a lot for my studies. He is an educational medical student in the UK and he teaches diseases and mental health.
I recommend you watch his YT out and give the health enthusiast a like! ➡️ #DoctorEthan
