    I am glad to hear things are going good with your family's situation. I have been following you for a few years now, and since last year october, my 2year old has been fighting cancer. All those long days at hospital, I've been watching your videos and it gave me some sort of normalcy. And its been a good distraction. Dont have time i craft now, so i get my fix from watching all your amazing work. You and your family are in our prayers.

    I was thrilled to see you paint the roses! It just goes to show how invested I’ve become in your projects that I could feel my stress levels rise as the little voice in my head was saying “it’s the Red Queen, she has red roses and her minions had to paint the white roses”.
    I love these “smaller” projects as they show what’s possible if you don’t want to commit to a whole house, so I loved the exterior finish on the attic. It’s just the right amount of house exterior on what’s really all about the interior.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We were definitely on the same wave length! I knew those roses had to be splattered red or they just wouldn't be right lol! Thank you Susan, I love smaller projects for that same reason too!

    I don't know if I would call that a bad habit - sometimes a project loses a person's interest. Nothing wrong with that. I've had that. Sometimes you change your mind about where you wanted to go with it, sometimes it just wasn't something that really moved you that much. It is really admirable that you wanted to go ahead and finish them.

    really like how you did the wallpaper strip wraping the front on alice- The little white house needs a rusty bike leaning up against the wall in that blank spot and then some tumbleweeds piled into the corner over the bike. Have you seen tumbleweed dtift piled up against a side of a house? That little blank corner would be perfect for that with the bike half buried in the drift of tumbleweeds.

    I am working on a big house I inherited. I worked on the outside but the roof broke my spirit. I did the attic as a cut-my-teeth project and then decided the rest had to be done in all-rooms phases. I finally finished all indoor trim (phase 2) and got excited that, at last, the little stuff and decor of Phase 3 was up! But no it’s not. I must finish the outside, just like this video. So I’ve added a Phase 2.5. And a Phase 4 which will be putting it in its base/landscaping. This project is eternal.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does feel like that sometimes... you get one thing done and then something else pops up that needs attention. And not just attention, but a lot of time and patience too! Renovating is a whole other ballgame! I hope the rest of it treats you nicer than the roof did❤

    My favorite project of yours was the Shining one, but I think the Alice scene just took first place. Your projects just keep getting better and better🙌🏻 Also, I think I like the white ribbon on Alice better than the red one, so I think that was a good change👍🏼

      I think I agree with you on the white ribbon! I like it a lot better😊 The shining is one of my favorites too and I have it by my desk! Thank you!

    You really are absolutely amazing at your creativity. I found you just the other day and I can't stop watching. I'm not a fan of Alice in wonderland, or Beatle Juice. Which means I absolutely love to watch you make things from scratch. I just got done watching your Addams family cost video for insurance purposes. Really that house is irreplaceable. All the work you did. It was just amazing. Congratulations with having it go to a museum. You must be so proud. Anyway I really enjoy your channel and Thank you so much for sharing all your creations.

    Ok… loved everything. I’m originally from the pacific northwest, so the mossy, wood rot white exterior reminded me of home. 🤪
    I was a little sorry that the photo studio story part was gone from the interior. I will recover from that just fine.
    My favorite was how Alice’s exterior turned out!!! ❤❤❤ WOW! I really like the pattern clashing and how it played into the chaos of the story. The 3D pieces peeking through was such a great touch. It gives the whole exterior a fantastic vibe. So many little surprises to discover. Even the altered queen of diamonds-almost, was a fun detail. Great work!

      I totally get missing the photo studio part of the project. I was a little sad to do that but I know this project will get much more use and time out in view now with this change. And I was happy I could still include the nod to the photos on one wall ;) Thank you so much Audrey😊 I am so glad you liked then both! The 3D printed pieces were just too tempting not to add in some way lol!

    I don’t do TH-cam videos but I do finish and photo my interiors first and SAME! I am so anxious to get to the next project, my brain screams “done”!!! Of course that means I have to shove things to a dark corner to hide the raw exteriors. LOL! I’m loving watching you tackle these. It might give me a nudge…. 😊

    These both turned out SO well! And it is so satisfying to see them complete. Alice's exterior adds so much to the interior! And the beautiful exterior of the attic scene is going to be a great sales tool. Great job on both. Also, thanks for including the zoomies at the end, so adorable!

    Such a satisfying feeling, completing projects! As always it looks amazing! I'm happy to report that you taught me Mod Podge is a tool I need to use. I'm creating props for my 15th century Catarina Sforza character. She was into alchemy. I have a few wooden chests in different sizes to hold my bottles of ingredients for natural dye demos. I used Mod Podge to adhere printed coats of arms to the stained wood. It worked great! Thank you, Ara 💖

    I can't say which I like better. They are too different to compare. Wow, you managed to finish two projects after setting them aside for a couple of years. You must tell me your secret. I have more unfinished projects than completed. Some of these are well over 10 years old. I can give excuses, don't have the room (afghans and quilts), etc, but I think that I find something new that I'm interested in and... Currently I'm into junk journals. I want to work on miniatures also but I have to have a place where I can shut the door to keep the cats out. My craft room (storage also) desperately needs to be decluttered. I've been wanting to do it for years but I get overwhelmed when I open the door. I need some one to help me. Even if it's just encouragement.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you Cat3Crazy. The secret is that I just didn't have the brain power/ time to work on a whole project from scratch so it was easier to pick up something older that didn't need as much attention. Sorry, I don't have any solutions for kitty-helpers since Stormy keeps 4 feet on the ground most of the time. I hope you can get it worked out. However I hope you don't beat yourself up about moving from interest to interest... that's how I ended up in miniatures, and trying so many new things taught me a ton of new skills! Just look at it as an art journey ;)

    Those are both really great. Thanks for the inspirations. The attic is my favorite though. I would use the straws from 7-11 to make some gutters and the drainpipes. They can be cut in half and formed any way you want them but also add a more realistic aspect to the house. Maybe add some graffiti to the walls like you see in the real homes that have been abandoned these days. Either way these look great. Thanks for sharing and have a great day

    Ara, it's like we were on the same wavelength this week! I'm moving apartments (and thus packing up my projects) and I realized that none of my exteriors were finished. I seem to have the same aversion to finishing the outsides! This is really encouraging and, as always, your honesty about your process makes the whole video so relatable. Just wanted to send a little appreciation your way! Hope you and your loved ones are well

    Great finishes on your projects! I was thinking that the book nook outer casing could have been made so you can slide the inner project in and out of it, rather than glue the project inside the outer shell. That would allow you to fix the lights should something ever burn out. I love seeing your various kits inside the abandoned room - they really tie everything together and will make a great display.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, that would have been a great idea... I didn't quite know how to get that to work though. It would have definitely been a few extra steps to get worked out. But I have my fingers crossed that my lights will last for ever... lol *nervous laugh*😬😄

    I'm a big "Alice in Wonderland" fan and I love it. The abandoned attic is my favourite. I like that the aging of the two outside walls doesn't match perfectly. That seems more realistic, since they might not get the same amount of sun or rain.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    An old house renovation channel posted a view of the boarding underneath their siding--recycled boards from railroad box cars from a circus train! Colorful lettering and images, all broken up like your cereal siding! So maybe at some point, you could use the cereal boxes as recycled (and aged) base layers that would show through!

    I love the new attic inside but Alice has to be my favorite! Wonderland breaking through! And painting those roses- I, too, was concerned when you picked the white ones! 😆 I love it ❤
    I'm glad you are finding a 'new normal'. I am a widow (many years, now) & my 'babies' are middle aged; we still occasionally have those crisis situations. 'I don't want anymore things that don't kill me
