Pretty clever on Wheel of Fortune’s part, only let the dumbest people on the show so you don’t have to give out as much money and you get a few viral clips out of it
Seriously, I've been noticing lately the quality of the contestants hasn't been what it once was
This is sad. They have it in their rules that contestants aren't allowed to try and spin for a specific part of the wheel - which is bullshit, if someone can skill-spin, let them. On top of that they put the high value wedge right next to the Bankrupt, they have outright added a Banrkupt space over the years, you have the extra 2/3rd of the Banrkupt on the Million Dollar Wedge...they need to let the winning contestant keep coming back and over and over like Jeopardy and see how long someone can stay there.

Not allowing people to try to spin for a specific part of the wheel is kinda like asking people not to play the game and just try to solve the puzzle.

Clearly you didn't like the obscenities I used for the extra emphasis of my feelings about these vids, so I'm assuming you'd have preferred a little less stark of an emphasis, like if I had used "really" instead of "fuckin" or "stuff" instead of "shit." I speak German and such emphasis is normal in Germany and all throughout Europe. Curse words don't carry the same weight in Germany like they seem to in the states, where people like you tend to get offended and then insult me back as if I had wronged them lol. It's so confusing to me. The only time it's a little rude in Europe is in formal settings (though even then you still hear it sometimes) or if you are a child and your mom has strict rules and doesn't want you to talk like she does when you aren't around.
My question to you is, why did that offend you? In my eyes those words perfectly expressed my feelings about it in a normal way; literally no offense was meant to anyone. If this were a formal setting or there were moms with children around, I wouldn't have said it because then I understand why some people would take offense. But truly, honestly, and respectfully... why did my comment offend you so much to insult me?

I just care to know what reference frame you are in and what upbringing you had that lead to you being offended in the first place and then to think that you are insulting me by saying I'd have guessed penis boat. As long as they keep with the lower testing standards for show contestants that they recently implemented, I'm sure Wheel of Fortune will have more Jomboy breakdowns like these in the future.
And think about, since we lowered the academic and intelligence requirements to get a university education & also for getting hired in many professional career job positions, why not lower them for a tv game show?

okay, I dont know where you guys are all from but where I live I have only ever heard them called "Paddle Boats". "pedal boats" makes more sense, but I have only ever called them (or heard them called) by the former.

Why do you have to ask why Pat laughed at "K"? It's an insanely bad guess. They literally give you RSTLN for the final puzzle, and 4 of those 5 letters hadn't been guessed.
Plus every "what are you doing" has an ING, and the G wasn't there yet.

Having been around many places that rent "pedal" boats in my life, I can confirm, 99% of Americans refer to them as "paddle" boats - despite the fact the boats are literally pedal-powered. And when you sit in one, you are very obviously pedalling pedals, and not paddling paddles.

False. There are two types of boats that are not well known but they are called pedaw boats and pedam boats. Pedaw boats were a specific wooden canoe-boat hybrid make by Indian tribes in early America. Pedam boats are a modern variation usually made of metal and are thin and long, typically for quick transportation of goods in rivers.

I'm still confused on what a "pedal boat" is. My family had a lake house growing up and we owned the ones that you pedal to propel-and I never once heard someone call it a pedal boat. We always called it a paddle boat and even the Wikipedia page for a paddle boat shows a boat with pedals propelled by a paddle wheel.

There is a lot of overlap between pedal boats and paddle boats, but they're not the exact same thing. Instead of searching wikipedia, search boat retailers. There are a variety of brands that call their cycle-powered crafts "pedal boats." So its not like the TV show mistook or made up that name.

The "M" and the "D" guesses were funny in context, sure, but I expect there is a large group of people who would have difficulty with this one because we're not all boat retailers.

Sometimes the pronunciations can be a bit muddled depending on your dialect, but for the most part in America they are readily distinguishable.

I think it has something to with how they used to paddle a kid at school when they were acting up in class and wouldn't behave. We kind of think about peddling a bicycle , but not a boat in that manner. We paddle a kid, but we pedal a boat or bicycle. It is all a technicality. 😁depends on how we say it. 😉

Like I mentioned there are a ton of words and phrases that commonly have a similar sounding word injected in place of another, pedal and paddle aren't just similar sounding but both make functional sense unlike most word swaps. "Statue of limitations" and "take for granite" make almost no logical sense. I'm from Chicago and my dad owned a marina when I was growing up, I've only heard "paddle boat" used to describe a river boat with a wheel on the back.

The reason why this was so chaotic is that everyone I've ever talked to calls it a paddle boat. When that was wrong, people thought the word was wrong and not the spelling. Basically this puzzle broke all of their brains. By the way, it is a 'paddle' boat because it uses paddles to propel you across the water. How those paddles are activated is irrelevant to the name.

As I woke up to the gloom that is my morning routine I noticed the day was especially dreary. I rolled out from my slumber and walked to the window to open it for what I hoped would be fresh air. As I slowly cranked the window open I was greeted by the lovely sound of a crow's PEDAW!

I'm from the Midwest, and I've never heard the phrase "pedal boat" in my life. The boats with pedals were "paddleboats."
