this lake wasn't discovered by NASA satellite in 2004. I'm from India. growing up in 90s we have read about Lonar lake & it's origin due to meteorite impact in our high school books. few years back even Discovery Kids India did a story on this lake in their programme "Mysteries of India". you really don't need to sensationalize everything.

Sam Ba This has been taught to us in 4 th standard geography 😂😂
and yes it is due to striking of meteorite. And water in lake is saline water which contains numerous minerals

This is the USA. The practically owner of capitalism. People will simple make a 15 minute thing off a simple question. If really detailed might be a minute or two. Essentially its this: the reason it gives off a strong magnetic thingy is because it was a Meteorite that landed and was made of a magnetic materiel.

This channel has the potential to make great content, but for some reason they think it is a good idea to exaggerate and dramatize interesting science. How about longer clips from those interviews instead of snippets without context? Why do you need to make it seem like the beginning of an action movie? Why do channels like Smarter Every Day and Veritasium get millions of views? Because they engage the viewer in scientific thinking instead of this weird clickbaity garbage.

These are clips from the actual documentaries that they want you to watch, these are just like ads to get you to want to watch the full episodes.
Other than that, this one was obvious from the start that it is a meteor crater, they make it sound like its gonna be something mysterious and then say "nope, just a meteor". Nice one. The full documentaries also have a lot of repetition and hot air blowing to fill out the time for one episode, which is sad.
Would love to see Michael Stevens Vsauce documentary, the first episode was sooo good :3. But YT red is not in my country :'(

Dylan Honors dude unfortunately this Chanel is the kind of Chanel that reposts great scientific tv shows. Now I'm not saying that's bad, but it means they can't show the whole episode or else they will get striked for copyright and stuff like that.

I have experienced a magnetic anomaly when boating in Finland near the ancient Raseborg castle. The compass went completely haywire in a spot of the sea, Later I found out that there was an magnetite (iron ore) outcrop below the sea. The anomaly in India is most likely a nickel-iron meteorite.

yeah the show is kind of cool cause it does show some interesting things... that said the way they spend 10 minutes making BS theories about the things When you can google the things and see and see long before the episode was made it was known what the thing was.
it is a shame they can't just show cool things then explain how or why it happens. I could do without all the BS.

I found it cringy that they say that they are testing if it is a meteor impact, when the lake is 1. circular 2. meteors can cause weird things to happen with electronics/compasses. 3. If people can't easily figure out that a lake is a impact crater as recent as it is, which is rare for it here, then I would have been leader of the whole world right now. I figured out all of their theories within 5 seconds of looking at the picture in the video. If people can't see that, then they can't see the moon if it was one inch away from their face.

These lake create another miracle, due to the meteorite striking one water fall is originated, that water fall never gone dry in a hard summer also, but the interesting thing is nobody's don't know about the source of that water from where it come,
& One more thing the water at the water fall is fresh (drinking) water, but when it reaches at the lake then it converts to saline

this is obviously some sort of crater. i don’t know for sure, but my theory is that an asteroid hit earth many hundreds of years ago and the content of what this crater was made of has made this whole area have a sort of force field around it. like radiation, for example. it’s probably not even the water, but what lies beneath.
    just my personal theory.

i think what happen was when the meteor striked it infected the soil around it and than probably something spiled a lot of water and now works like a emp aka an electric magnetic pulse

So basically a meteorite hit the land but was un noticed or something, and the magnetic materials in the meteor sunk to the bottom of something creating an opposing weird magnetic field or something

Everyone knows about this Lake , that it is the result of meteoritic impact, and magnetic behavior due to high iron content, what's new in this ? Just sound effects !!!

Wait, dusty divot anyone? This almost describes dusty because they believe a meteor did it and there is water in the bottom of dusty.
