India is a mini world. You will find desert, snow caped mountain, forest, valleys, ancient cites, lots of things. India is a place of varied nature. Always feel proud to be part of this holy land. 🇮🇳🇮🇳
He's an amazing guide with multi-faceted knowledge about culture, history, science, and wildlife. Always wanted to go to Lonar! Thanks for the great video!
Wow, Lonar is my hometown, I'm really glad that someone like Karl got to see the crater, there are so many legends around this one.. and I must say one of the most underrated places in India, If you ever go to the place take a walk around the whole crater its really an amazing experience, you'll encounter some monkeys, peacocks and various kinds of insects and birds, the smell is bit horrid but some locals take a dive in it as its holy place, there are many ancient temples around and as I said many legends associated to them. Fun Fact: In 2020 around peak of the Summer the water of the crater turned pink due to the low levels, it was lockdown but we still managed to go there and witnessed pink amazing crater..!
It has been assumed that the absence of rain, less human interference (owing to lockdown) and high temperature resulted in the evaporation of water which increased its salinity and pH and due to a large presence of the salt-loving 'Haloarchaea' microbes. The colour of the lake water turned pink
India just keeps giving gems thanks to Karl and Manisha we get to see them all what an amazing country India really is much love and respect from England

Beautiful video and wonderfully guided by Mr. Amol ji. Just a small addition on magnetosomes, they are not microorganisms, MAgnetosomes are actually membranous organelles found in magnetotactic bacteria found in these regions. These organelles help in sequestering iron in it, biomineralize this iron to magnetic crystals or nanoparticles. Its really very interesting to study. The pink colour change that had occurred in Lonar lake was due to a group of microorganisms called 'Haloarchaea' , which produced pink pigment and which are salt loving, as its shown here that the pH is highly alkaline. I had missed a chance to visit Lonar lake when I was around, would have loved to learn more about the microbiology of the place but couldn't come here as I had to leave for some other work, but hope to visit this place once. Great video!!!

'Mythical Stories" along with science creates a mysterious spiritual experience...otherwise everything is just plain old fact..kind of soulless
It is the MYTHOLOGY which make it more interesting and intriguing
I am from LONAR ❤
Great to see that Lonar Creater is going global attractions🎉🎉
Love seeing the majestic ruins and crater! Love all your videos ❤
It was nice to see you and your wife out together Karl,, she's a great person mate,,❤️🇬🇧
Just blows my mind to hear wild Peacocks at about 15:25 in the Background, amazing!
Yaay! My hometown. Back in the days I used to see a lot of ISRO and NASA delegates at the site.
Taking the service of a guide was a smart move 👌
WOW! How absolutely gorgeous! What a magical beautiful place! ❤
Pretty scary to see so many of these massive craters from thousands of years ago. makes me worried about what the impact of something this huge would be today. I never heard of this one.
Namaste Karl, I think the bug was a millipede and amazing adventure. I liked the waterfall
It is a millipede. Goes into a tight coil when threatened
Thanks Maya! You can tell I'm a city slicker hehe
Maharashtra is such an amazing State! Never knew about this crater..so beautiful and mysterious with all those ancient temples. Incredible India indeed. Thanks for the great vlog.
Didn’t even know this place existed. Thank you for sharing.

My father is the in charge for Lonar Crater Development Authority and the dept didn't knew you were coming if they knew they would've done special arrangements for you to view the crater more efficiently coz being a youtuber you are definitely promoting the place for more and more tourists to come which would def boost the tourism of the place so next time he would be happy to help and make special arrangements for you !!

Thank you sir for showing an unbiased image of india
Best part, as for me, is how calm and informative this guide is..
Maybe the shoes are all that is left from a tiger attack ! Thanks for touring this area for me, because I would never do it myself !
Haha, I wish I was witty enough to think of that during the vlog!
This is incredible!!! Need more of such lesser known amazing information and places. The guide was really really good, wish all guides were this good in India! ❤️
Your tour guide needs a separate TH-cam channel of his own. 😄That guy is so knowledgeable! Anyway, interesting video. Just a request, carry some torches next time you visit any ancient site. The first temple was so dark, we could see nothing.
All phones have torches. They didnt light it out of respect.
@@raiideas Where did respect come in this? 😂 Phone flash lights are not focused light, try using a phone flash inside a dark room you will know!
While visiting ancient monuments, usually the tour guide carries torch light with them. That is what I was talking about.
@@YourEducationSaathiYou're right anyone who has lived in a remote place knows the difference between a torch and a phone flash 😂.
Now, this is what I call a very fascinating video. Especially because you recorded the guides narration in detail. Gave an in depth understanding of what this place is all about.
