WATCH: Boeing Plane Loses Its Wheel During Takeoff in March

This newly released video shows an incident in March when a United Airlines Boeing flight lost a wheel during takeoff. A similar mishap happened this week when another United Airlines Boeing plane lost its wheel at the beginning of the flight. The wheel fell off during takeoff on United Flight 1001, departing from LAX to Denver on Monday around 10 a.m., according to a United Airlines spokesperson.
“The wheel has been recovered in Los Angeles, and we are investigating what caused this event,” United Airlines said.
Earlier in March, a United Airlines Boeing 777-200 jet en route from San Francisco to Osaka, Japan, lost a tire during takeoff, prompting an emergency landing in Los Angeles. The tire struck cars in an airport employee parking lot, according to KTLA.
