Have a friend who had a tow truck. He could accept fault if he made an error because it happens. What he really got upset about, was when someone blamed him for something he didn't do because he knew he was nowhere near "the damaged" part of the vehicle during the recovery.

Casey from what I could see the truck was messed up before you got there . All you did was add more battle scars. 😊😊

I was watching a buddy of mine tow a stuck car out of the ditch last week. The driver drove over some logs and you could see the ruts for about 150 of ditch.I could see an oil sheen in the water before tow got there. I just talked to my buddy and he was telling me that owner was threatening to sue him for damaging his transmission.

I really like the number of big rig recoveries we have been getting to see lately. BTW, you might not have changed for that one, but you're still making money from it.

Well maybe next time you need to get and put a small strap in the truck And Or a Steering Wheel Lock and it will help hold the steering wheel from moving and it does look like the guy wasn't even holding the Steering Wheel from turning once you have gave it some light pull and then Actually You putting the Steering Wheel in the position that is needed AND Lock it in and not expecting them to know what is needed for no damages to happen and Great Recovery....

Dont feel bad Casey ! Its not your fault that driver was driving too fast for conditions with a hell of a load and lost it. Thats exactly how I would write it up ! You be careful out there. 4 wheelers got no sense either .

It seems that fairing can't take much flexing at all, a neighbour bought a used truck that had the fairing and it was all cracked up so he stripped off the fairing and put normal steps on the saddle tanks to climb into the cab instead. That must be stressful dealing with traffic as its not like every tow job can have multiple emergency vehicles to stop traffic so you can rig up like you want to get the best angles.

Sure would like to have had your truck back when I was doing recoveries. I was pulling a car up a steep bank in the snow years ago, got it almost on the road and tipped it on its side😬. I was pissed with myself, shit happens. Stay safe out there boys✌️🇨🇦

Just takes a split second for things to go from pretty good to Oh shucks. Results were good, you are out time and expenses but don't have to worry about some guy charging you for his gold-plated step replacement which can be surprisingly expensive.

Hey, Casey. Don't beat yourself up top much.. if you look at the front of the trucks, it's been beat up before you got here. Also, those skirts break apart a lot. Just even stepping on them.

I used to worry about the threads on my slide hammer, but then insaw a semi's screw on tow point thingy...
    No worries anymore

Could you have gone through the front rim from the backside and then pulled? It should then turn tire to the right or as you say passenger side. Just a thought.
