What's unfortunate is there are some people who think this is a sub-par Nightwish album. This is one of the tightest, most talented bands I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. I can't say enough how much I believe Tuomas is a genius composer.
MusicIsMyChurch I think that group of people is getting smaller. I’ve seen lots who say they didn’t like it at first but after a few more listens they love it. I think it’s brilliant from start to finish!
I loved this album when I first listened to it but the more I listen to it the more I love it. There’s just so much to pick up on in this album. Yet another masterpiece by Nightwish.
For me it's taken hearing the songs a couple times before things really sink in and I am really able to appreciate what's going on and what they're trying to do but I think the album is an absolute masterpiece
Dude .. you have serious depths. This is flat out the best review of this song that I have heard. I have been irritated that other reviewers seem to be puzzled at the opening .. the obvious to me progression from sounds of the forest, then the files start lighting and the drums start to the lyre .. but man .. you caught so much more then I did .. many, many thumbs up!
Thats the best analysis of this song and video ive seen so far from any reactor!! including you picking up on the Hurrian hymn to nikkal (the first piece of music) - which also just happens to be included on the 2nd disc of album, in the section called 'anthropocene' That's impressive! :) Absolutely love this song!
I honestly believe the tour that spawned the Buenos Aires release was the band's gift to the fan base but also saying the band you knew is evolving. This new record is the product of mature artists making deep intelligent music. The production of the compositions and the artwork illustrating the pieces in their videos is masterful, worthy of the song. Tuomas is the originator but you can easily see and hear all members contributions to the finished product. I think this will be discussed by future generations the way we discuss 'Pet Sounds' and 'Sgt Peppers' now. Excellent reaction, well done brother.
Considering TRIBAL a "short song" with only 1 min of singing, there are only 6 1/2 songs with Floor in lead. So I am far from being saturated of Floor's lead vocals. I could easily take the double dose of it ;-)
Loved the moment during the first listen when you understood what the song was about! Most reactors don't get it on the first try :-) For some reason the line "Human, singing the song of another man" really pulls a string in me.
Your reaction.... once again .... pure perfection! 👌 I love the fact you dont care that you would be making a really long reaction video if you were to listen again- you just had to do it! It was a pure pleasure watching you react twice and seeing all the stages of your understanding on the song. You are truly enlightened and I love listening to you! 👏
I"m ready for an all NIghtwish Channel. This album is simply a masterpiece - mesmerizing, thought provoking, ... Some of 'the kids' are disappointed it's not all headbanging, but the band continues to evolve, metamorphosize, mature . I remember back when you did your first NW reaction, ("why have I never heard of this band). Akin to you, once I was introduced 3 years ago, that was it - hooked! Very much enjoy your appreciation and in depth analysis of all Tuomas's creations.
My thoughts exactly. It's what i said in a comment somewhere else. I was bashed for calling this evelution of the band. But that's what it is. They grow, they change, they mature. Want the old Nightwish? then go back listen to the old albums. But for a band to stay the same and bring out the same stuff again and again would be quite boring. I would hate it if Tuomas would keep his talent within himself in order to please the fans with giving them what they want to hear. You appreciate it or you don't. I've been a fan for almost 20 years now, but for me this is perfection. I can't imagine them to top a masterpiece like this.
@@MrsGod67 hell, I'd hate for Tuomas to do that for HIS sake! Not only would it be boring for us, but hell for him! That's half the message of poet and the pendulum. This is just the opening track. How you gonna cope the rest, because there's some great stuff coming. You're interpretation of the lyrics is the best I've seen. Much much better than I can do. Thank you!
I have seen an interview with Floor where she said how challenging this song was to sing . I think she rose to the challenge and exceeded it . this is one of those song that get better the more you hear it . Loved the review on this one , some of the reviewers don't get it on the first listening . Keep up the good work .Stay safe Stay strong .
From the other side of the globe, in Amsterdam, I was watching your reaction. I had already been listening to this song since April 10, but your explanation blew my mind! I finally understood not only the song, but also the background information that you gave was extremely helpful. This album is so deep, I even had to Google some words, that never happened to me with other albums, even though English is not my native language. Of course I subscribed to your channel ☺️👍. Thanks a lot, mate!
You nailed it Pat! Perfectly. I had the same feel that this was Music singing to us. You mentioned that first line "Before you my home was in the wind and surf". That was it for me, but then, the first human made sounds "Then you came, I joined you (...) as you blew your cave bear bone and begun to hum", reference to the first humans/hominids using bone as tools, in their caves, eventually creating sounds with/thru them. That part is dear to me, as I have a degree in Archeology. As for the very first song, the very first (nearly) complete notated song in History, in that pot, is called "Hurrian hymn to Nikkal" (h.6, for short), found in Ugarit (northern Syria) and guess what? It features on "Anthropocene", the 7th track of the Nature part of this album. This is how tight Tuomas got.
Again spot on with your analysis .. The whole album is just genies .. You clearly understand your subject matter and It's so embarrassing watching other channels get it totally wrong .. Sure music in subjective and it's down to peoples preferences .. Classy review from a classy band .. Excellent !
Yes it is the first song of the album, and it fits perfectly after The Greatest Show on Earth, last one on the last album. Also I love how the lyrics always come back in the songs, like on the former album in one of the songs there is a lyric that goes something like ‘the deep silence between the notes deafens me with love’ and in this song they mention Pan (a song on this album is named Pan) and the drum from the Moors, on disc2 there is a part called ‘the Moors’ and so on, so many things to discover it’s so amazing an I really love your reactions you are way better than me on getting the meaning of the songs ;) stay safe and I am looking forward to your other reactions
Nice and interesting analysis and view. Agree with you completely. You are one of the few reviewers that gets really into the complete songs meaning lyrics, background and the MUSIC. Understanding the song creates much more emotion, look at shoemaker as an example.
Someone said "it's not what you play, it's what you don't play". The spaces in between. True in so many great pieces of music. Guitar solos etc. Love your videos. Especially your thoughts on this great album.
I've been enjoying your reactions a lot. I appreciate the breakdown of the lyrics and I have learned a lot and gained more understanding of the songs. Definitely you are now one of my top favorite reactors along with Kelly Deacon and friar GuylainPrince
Your reactions are such a pleasure to see. Same purity of emotion than I have when I hear Nightwish and Floor. ❤ this is also my favorite song. But the Nature part is hair lifting experience, chills down my spine etc. Stay safe! Susanna from Finland🖖🏼
You've definitely earned a sub with this review. This is more than art or music, this is the kind of life defining thing you send out into space for all in the universe to enjoy.
O my goodness. You nailed it. I teared up listenening to you presenting your thoughts about this wonderful piece. Thank you sharing your feels about it. Stay safe.
About silence: As my choir conductor always says: yes, the rests are also part of the music and they have to be performed with the same intensity as the notes. And one of the finest moments of a symphony is a gerenal rest. For a second, silence. And that is intensified when the rest has a fermata. Nobody moves. Even the conductor stands still. Everybody waiting for the music to go on. This is an experience that cannot be described.
I love the beginning when you start to see the tribal fires igniting all over the forest to the sound of drums and then you hear what sounds like a cave bear bone flute being blown. All day long the chorus has been going through my head. It is so catchy. I only wish it was longer. Is Tuomas a genius or what? This is the very first song! Just like Floor sings. I think we could be close friends? You think and feel music just like I do. Be well my friend.
I gotta say Wow, Wow, Wow too. Both to the song but also your reaction. Your reactions are so sincere, pure and full of emotion. You really "feel" what Tuomas means to tell and i'm lucky to learn to get more insight because of you. Though i got most of this song of this as you explained, i didn't know that instrument to be the first one, and first recording ever found, that's really really interesting and gives it more depth then i already felt. Thank you again! Ps. It's a shame you can't add picture here, but i just went on google searching for this Hurrian no 6 hymn (you were right it being that first song found in Syria). When you look for images, you'll find indeed a lot of images of that hymn, very ancient things, and then what do i see?? The cover of Nightwish Human Nature!!
Thank you! You understood the deepest essence of this work of art right from the start. Another listening session opened it up to you almost completely. So far, you’re the first to seem to understand the deepest message of this song.
This was possibly the best review of a song I have ever seen. You have open a whole new perspective of this song, it's like you cracked the puzzle. You have earned a new subscriber. Can't wait to watch your other videos.
wow thank you for sharing the interpretation of the song. i didn't really quite get it by the lyrics. Now i can appreciate it in a totally different aspect. Excellent reaction!
I loved seeing you getting your mind blown second by second. But then the big Aussie wizard shared his observations, noticing stuff that went past me the first 70 times, and you blew MY mind! It is beyond me how Tuomas not only writes wonderful music, creates mind-boggling lyrics and has a magical way of taking us on a journey.
We are so lucky to be watching such amazing artists. This is genius work. There are only 3 groups or artists right now (in my opinion) who are creating stunning new work that is going to change what people listen to years from now. Nightwish is absolutely one of them.
@@dianak.8557 ❤🤗😉 I won't go there on this beautiful tribute to Nightwish, but all are fearless, poetic, ever changing and reaching for new depths in music despite what convention says. My admiration is endless.
Ok, you've cemented your position near the very top of the premier league of reactors with this fantastic reaction - you get it and feel it like only a handful of reactors do, thanks dude 🤘
Great explanation of the song, you found so much more in the song than I did ...thanks for that I like the song even better now...Greets from the Netherlands
the epic pieces of music compositions that tuomas writes/comes up with along with the themes, layers of colors and colors in layers seemlessly interweaves that in finnish metal orchestral and floor's voice and all the beauty and life, variety here is certainly talk about music pieces that won't be tied down wow
It is the first song. Music, Noise, Shoemaker, Havest, Pan, how's the Heart?, Procession, Tribal and Endlessness make up the first disc, it really listens perfectly if you listen to them in that order :) It's also worth listening to the 2nd disc, there's a song called Moors. Order for that goes... All the Works Of Nature Which Adorn The World: Vista, The blue, The Green, Moors, Aurorae, Quiet As The Snow, Anthropocene (incl. Hurrian Hymn to Nikkal') and Ad Astra
Your reaction was almost MUSIC. Thank you for your explanation and astonishment. I couldn't imagine that Nightwish could top Endless forms most beautiful; oh man, am I wrong. What a master album. And Floor.... sight. What a sound. Love her.
I loved this reaction and Kelly Deacon's. You really broke it down after watching it twice. And it is a great track opening for the entire album. My favorites are shoemaker and procession, but since watching your reaction, music might be my third favorite. Thank you! 😊
Great reaction and interpretation man! I couldn't agree more with you. Yes, this is the first song in the album, and what a fantastic way to open it. Saying it's a masterpiece seems to apply to every song in the album, and that's what it is.
That is indeed the 1st song in the album, after which comes Noise. Listening to this album in order is really the way to go. It makes so much sense how each track follows after each other.
Great reaction dude. Thank you 😊 It’s a magnificent album. A band at the height of their powers. I saw a comment mentioning Pet Sounds. I immediately thought of it being their OK Computer. Genius stuff, 👏🏻
With this album NIGHTWISH hase reach an other level in music , and yes , this is the FIRST song , of course this is not the old NIGHTWISH but the new . Great reaction , greetings from the Netherlands .
I’m waiting for Hollywood to discover Tuomas as he becomes the next Hans Zimmer and Floor could do any type of movie musical. Only caveat, Nightwish must remain their primary focus. 😍🤘
You're like how I was. Many were confused and I was like yea this is awesome! I'll admit I didn't get the whole music being an entity and telling the story directly, but I did see the pattern of how it evolved, and what gorgeous music to go under the lyrics. Indeed genius.
Phenomenal reaction and breakdown mate, it truly is a piece of pure art. Tuomas Holopainen’s compositions on this opus are incredible and very thought provoking. What a way to start an album......and may I add an album that we’ve all needed during these crazy times. Peace to all 🤘
Great reaction and brilliant analysis! This is the album's opening track and for me, it sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the album. To me this is a sit down and listen album rather than a background or sing along album. It's one that deserves one's full attention.
Man, you're picking up sooo much during just one listen, that is really impressive! I've just been utterly occupied by taking in the wall of sound and Floor's voice… :-D
The original idea was to make a song combining different styles, from primitive, to classic, folk, blues, rock, metal... Tuomas actually made a demo and when he first listened to the song on the studio he realized it was completely pretentious garbage 😂 So he discarded the idea and wrote this one. Fantastic reaction/analysis, the "silence" moment in the middle of the sound hits me hard on the feels. Very smart moment, you can see the connection between silence, music and next... "noise".
Thanks for your analysis! Whenever I feel I'm not quite getting parts of the lysics, I can always count on you explaining them! 😊👍 This whole album is just great imho.
You always make amazing analysis man.. keep it going! I didnt know about hymm no.6 and I am not even close to a musician but I can bet that there are some notes on that solo after "here it comes, the very first song" that are based on the actual very first song.. Until it I thought that it was because its the first song of the album (like most of the people probably)
Absolutely the best analysis of this song in yt. I love the image of the first lyre instrument of the earth (it was found somewhere place called Ur) in lyric vid and to me the song opened up once I saw it. Very cool album opener.
By the way the first song that you mentioned is found here in yt. If you listen to it you can hear the melody pattern in Music too. How mindblowing is that?! th-cam.com/video/DBhB9gRnIHE/w-d-xo.html
Music for the mature... Many of those complaining have been binge watching Wacken2013 and forget that that is based on the "Imaginarium" album that took a year to record between April 2010-March 2011 and was released in November 2011. It was written more than a decade ago. "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" was released in March 2015. The band is certainly going to grow and evolve over that period of time. "Human" carries forward so many of the themes and even riff from earlier songs. It is majestic and glorious and enormously complex and boy does Tuomas give everyone a professional workout. Its going to be top of my listen to list for some time to come.
Creo que de todas las reacciones, fuiste capaz de captar lo mismo que yo. Me siento identificado.
"Music singing about us". No one has put it better. As always, your enthusiasm and thoughtfulness is a delight :) You're right about the inscribed pots. Found in what was the ancient city of Ugarit, now located in northern Syria.
Very good response mate! Also very attentive, that you have also noticed the accient god Pan and the Hurian Hymn .. This is only the second reaction that I have seen, which I think comes closest to the true meaning of the song...
My two favorites are "Music" and "How's the Heart?" from this album. But the crown jewel is Floor and Troy's acoustic "How's the Heart?" at Planet Rock. So, listen to the album before going to the acoustic song. Btw, here's Nightwish's playlist in the right order: th-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html
Yep, it's the first one on the album and you're bang on that it sets the rest up. This album didn't "wow" me straight off (didn't dislike it, but wasn't knocked over). It didn't have the same feel as their previous few albums and it's much more musically complex. Floor isn't displayed as bombastically as say GLS but her technique is amazing (those vocal parts are hard). So, I wasn't blown away, and yet I've listed to the album like 2 dozen times in a week. Most significant, I find that I'm listing beginning to end each time. It doesn't feel like a CD with 10 songs on it (I think of the 2nd disc as the 10th song). It's more like a book with 10 chapters telling a story and I don't think I've experienced anything quite like that before from an album. I've listed to some of the songs on their own but it feels out of context a little....It's kinda weird :) Your review of this song was freckin awesome by the way. Great attention to detail and an amazing job connecting the dots to tell a story. Loved it!!
Yes, this song is a masterpiece, but if you don`t understand it... then problem is in you, not in the song. And you got the point. This is my favourite song of the album (as well as Endlessness, the last song of the album). Absolutely loved your reaction
Toumas is like Beethoven or Bach if they were to have been born in to 21st century and had access to all the musical instruments and performance equipment of today. He is in my opinion one of the top 5 composers in modern history. His music moves me in so many ways i cant even describe what i feel when i hear anything he puts down in music. amazing album.
You know something funny? I have seen more double-take reactions from this album than I have for the whole rest of Nightwish's catalogue. XD This album is truly something special and unique.
I knew the sounds at the very beginning and, at first I couldn't put my finger on it. Then it just popped in my head. It sounds just like the recordings from NASA. They developed technology that helps them listen to sounds in outer space. Those pings and deep wave type sounds are from space! Plasma waves etc. The songs of the universe. That is absolute genius! If I'm wrong, well.....It's still an amazing song. Had to come back and add this. Just looked it up and the Northern Lights do make a sound. Unbelievable! Stupid me for questioning it. Should have known better.
What's unfortunate is there are some people who think this is a sub-par Nightwish album. This is one of the tightest, most talented bands I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. I can't say enough how much I believe Tuomas is a genius composer.

It's because everyone is impatient! Its Nightwish...you need to just relax and let the song take you away!

We are so lucky to be watching such amazing artists. This is genius work.
There are only 3 groups or artists right now (in my opinion) who are creating stunning new work that is going to change what people listen to years from now. Nightwish is absolutely one of them.
Who are the other 2? 😉
Great explanation of the song, you found so much more in the song than I did ...thanks for that I like the
song even better now...Greets from the Netherlands
That song found in the pot: "Hurrian Hymn to Nikkal" appears in the Anthropocene section on the second disc!
Love your reaction. Pure joy to watch and listen.
Youre reactions are awesome, you hear so much that nobody hears (me included)
Love to see the rest of the reactions of this album
the epic pieces of music compositions that tuomas writes/comes up with along with the themes, layers of colors and colors in layers seemlessly interweaves that in finnish metal orchestral and floor's voice and all the beauty and life, variety here is certainly talk about music pieces that won't be tied down wow
It is the first song.
Music, Noise, Shoemaker, Havest, Pan, how's the Heart?, Procession, Tribal and Endlessness make up the first disc, it really listens perfectly if you listen to them in that order :)
It's also worth listening to the 2nd disc, there's a song called Moors.
Order for that goes... All the Works Of Nature Which Adorn The World: Vista, The blue, The Green, Moors, Aurorae, Quiet As The Snow, Anthropocene (incl. Hurrian Hymn to Nikkal') and Ad Astra
Masterpiece this album, no doubt about it. Near to perfection.
Thank you! 😊
I think that Kelly and Pat are the best reactors out there, head and shoulders above the rest.
Amazing reaction thank you so much that was very educating
Greetings from the Netherlands
Great reaction and interpretation man! I couldn't agree more with you.
Yes, this is the first song in the album, and what a fantastic way to open it. Saying it's a masterpiece seems to apply to every song in the album, and that's what it is.
That is indeed the 1st song in the album, after which comes Noise. Listening to this album in order is really the way to go. It makes so much sense how each track follows after each other.
No wonder why i always follow your channel! Loved your reaction😍😍😍
Great reaction dude. Thank you 😊
It’s a magnificent album. A band at the height of their powers. I saw a comment mentioning Pet Sounds. I immediately thought of it being their OK Computer. Genius stuff, 👏🏻
Gidday mate, love this, great reaction....even here in New Zealand the army is growing.
I love your reactions!! I´m so amazed with this album is a masterpiece !!!
Each song on the CD has its own magic!
Hope to see you soon
your reaction to "Endlessness"
guaranteed emotion! what group wow!
Took me a while to get the album. Was not sure about it? BUT after 8or9 listens I LOVE IT
loved seeing the eureka moment during the first listen, and you going "ok..now i need to listen to it again to see if im right" 8)
With this album NIGHTWISH hase reach an other level in music , and yes , this is the FIRST song , of course this is not the old NIGHTWISH but the new .
Peace to all 🤘
This is insane reaction I loved it! Tank u! Tuomas might not be human at all....
first album done in order is like a 10 act play, masterpiece.
I would love to see this as a show opener, such a great show
The original idea was to make a song combining different styles, from primitive, to classic, folk, blues, rock, metal...
It is the first (though sadly, i'm not). Nice reaction video. It's great how much you pickup on with each of these Nightwish reactions!
Tuomas has brought all 3 of his excellent singers into a harmonized album that is second to none!

Yes it's the first song of the new album, Loved your reaction, and that point of view was spot on. Keep safe, stay strong.
Still the best reaction to this song till today - and I've seen them all :-)
Music for the mature...
Wow is right. This Is the first album where I've seen reactors just hit replay button and let em go one more time! Amazing album!
Thank you for such a brilliant review.
Without a doubt, it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
I've listed to some of the songs on their own but it feels out of context a little....It's kinda weird :)
Your review of this song was freckin awesome by the way. Great attention to detail and an amazing job connecting the dots to tell a story. Loved it!!
You actually create value with your reaction videos!
Such a great reaction! ‹3
Great analogy and review my friend..
Love to watch genuine reactions. 👍
Yes, this song is a masterpiece, but if you don`t understand it... then problem is in you, not in the song. And you got the point. This is my favourite song of the album (as well as Endlessness, the last song of the album). Absolutely loved your reaction
Toumas is like
Beethoven or Bach if they were to have been born in to 21st century and had access to all the musical instruments and performance equipment of today. He is in my opinion one of the top 5 composers in modern history. His music moves me in so many ways i cant even describe what i feel when i hear anything he puts down in music. amazing album.
Brilliant reaction! Respect. 👍👍
Regarding Floor's singing, I see her as the wings Nightwish and Toumas have needed to truly give flight to his music....
You know something funny? I have seen more double-take reactions from this album than I have for the whole rest of Nightwish's catalogue. XD This album is truly something special and unique.
I guess you left with wildflower aftertaste :-) Stunning song and stunningly deep reaction.
i was thinking of Floor as Euterpe in this ... (the muse responsible for lyrical music) singing to humans
Loved this one right off the bat. Others have taken a few listens to sink in; not this one. Just fantastic. Great reaction.
Great reaction, the album is awesome 🤘🤘
I knew the sounds at the very beginning and, at first I couldn't put my finger on it. Then it just popped in my head. It sounds just like the recordings from NASA. They developed technology that helps them listen to sounds in outer space. Those pings and deep wave type sounds are from space! Plasma waves etc. The songs of the universe. That is absolute genius!
If I'm wrong, well.....It's still an amazing song.
Had to come back and add this. Just looked it up and the Northern Lights do make a sound. Unbelievable! Stupid me for questioning it. Should have known better.
BRILLIANT review Brother. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
when Floor sing the word MUSIC i became goodrbumps..😙
Like Pink Floyd really. Had that certain quadraphonic appreciation 😀😁🤣😍
Yep. Deep stuff indeed.
