Ted, you’re what’s up brutha. The things your talking about key to understanding ourselves, and what level in our bass lives. I’ve been in a slump for months. I’m trying to get back into it. I played bass for many years (45) most of it by ear. I’m teaching myself to read music, I can’t afford lessons right now. I pick up tips on TH-cam and your site, so thank you for being such a great resource for us all who struggle from time to time.

You got me when you said "how many pdfs are on your harddrive". Funny thing is...I really want to master the instrument with all the knowledge and have an overwhelming amount video courses and books but being able to hear that note off the record and play it is the best feeling. At 51 I'll leave being a virtuoso to the young ones and just groove.

I have to say I'd been wanting to play for years. Then I found your channel and really started putting work in. Now I don't look for tabs, I listen and play. I owe you a big thanks for the inspiration and straight knowledge. Thanks brother. Play on😁

I appreciate the lifting analogy. Been learning for a couple months. Feel like I've hit the first rocky patch in learning as I shift from just playing, to playing with focus on good techniques and feel. Gotta remind myself that progress is not a straight line.
