yes!!! one of my favorite series of all time. id love to see you play this one, and at least up to two as well, if not the whole series. theres a shit ton of side games tho and alot of them have important plot info sprinkled in so it'll get confusing if you skip them and just play the numbered titles. i recommend playing them in release order if you end up playing all of them. they released 2 compilation releases for the ps4 awhile ago so including kh3 you can get all the games in about 3 disks. some of the side games were turned into cutscene movies too so you dont have to actually play through all of them
Yeah as long as he gets the “All in one Package he should be set outside of the 3 dlc and MoM. And by the time he does get to 3, I’d assume he would already be in the know
i think the absolute best thing yoko shimomura does in her music for this series is tie in the music with each character and how it can relate to the others i LITERALLY highly encourage a play through the series and like if you peel back the whole “haha they say darkness a lot” you get a really earnest and fascinating game

As much as this game is a collaboration between Disney and Square Enix, I'm not entirely sure how much Disney is involved outside of giving permission to use properties, and telling them what worlds they can use. The character designs are handled by Square Enix, if not just Tetsuya Nomura himself The music is handled mostly handled by Yoko Shimomura, who used to be a Squaresoft composer but then became an independent who still works on Square projects from time to time (and Mario RPGs, since the first Mario RPG was a Square property), with some orchestration by Kaoru Wada, who has no ties to Disney. And of course the intros to the numbered entries are sang by Hikaru Utada. And yeah, the Utada tracks are super copyright protected. I'd say they hit even harder than Disney copyrights. There are plenty of songs that originated from other sources in the game, but all arrangements in the entire OST are made by Yoko. Not Disney. She is just really good at capturing that Disney feel. Which I think is the most apparent in one of the first songs that played in the video. It's not surprising that many first time reactors think Disney made the OST to the game, considering it does sound pretty in line from what you'd hear from Disney.
kinda nice seeing someone discover this for the first time. can't waot to see the reactions to the rest of the kh series' ost . you are not ready for kh2 and birth by sleep
You asked about the scaling of Donald, Goofy, and Mickey? Well keep in mind that the Kingdom Hearts incarnations of those three are not the standard Disney cartoon iterations. For example, as of Kingdom Hearts 3, Court Wizard Donald is the strongest black mage in any Square property. He cast a spell that only one other Square character has ever cast, and the other one to cast it was a final boss. Said final boss was borrowing the power of a literal god of destruction to cast the spell. Donald did it on his own, and one-shot one of the most powerful characters any of the party characters had ever fought with it. Goofy is the captain of the knights that guard the same court Donald is the court wizard of, and that same character Donald one-shot with that highest tier of magic, remember said character is one of the strongest the cast has ever fought, Goofy deflected an attack intended to kill Sora from that character. And while the force behind the attack did knock Goofy off his feet, the way he blocked the attack also knocked this other character off _his_ feet and sent him flying. Oh, and Mickey's basically Keyblade Master Yoda, except not nearly as old. The only feat he really has is being able to stop time for an entire Evil Council Meeting Room while performing an extraction mission. Well I mean he can also case the Ultima spell, which some might call a feat in and of itself, but the only time he cast it it was cancelled by time stop magic cast by the enemy.
Not only that, the spell that Donald used is typically an explosion, an uncontrollable blast, yet Donald is able to concentrate it into a focused beam just to annihilate a single man. Not only that, he does it so fast that no one is able to fully react in time other than Goofy, who's like "Donald, don't!", meaning *Donald has likely done this before*
in ffxiv, bahamut's gigaflare and teraflare caused the in-game apocalyptic event that deleted the original ffxiv from existence. he can also use exaflare, but only in the ultimate-level version of his fight (the unending coils of bahamut,) which *does not canonically take place.* and zettaflare is higher than all of those.
@@just-eebYeah, but when Bahamut cast Zettaflare, it was a widespread explosion of unfocused beams, as opposed to when Donald cast it, which produced a single focused beam. Therefore, Donald is more powerful than Bahamut.
I would love to see your reactions to the Kingdom Hearts II OST, along with the NEW songs they had in Chain of Memories. There were a lot of songs in Chain of Memories that were just revamped versions of songs in KH1, but there were some new songs that were really good. But KH2 is all new music, and it's even better than KH1.
That last track was from a secret cutscene you have to unlock by fulfilling a set of conditions throughout the game. It was a teaser for Kingdom Hearts 2.
Nope. That was just an alternate version of Destati used in the first trailer of the game. The song from the secret ending is only on the Final Mix album.
Some songs do sound better in the old version so im glad he's listening to them this way too. Namely Tension Rising loses a lot o its "oomph" in the remake
It gets even funnier when you realize that the melody is based on a liturgical hymnal that was only meant to be sung at a certain time of day on certain days of the year and that anytime the staff worked with the song in production they would be hit by bad luck so it was almost like God was saying "you know you're technically not supposed to be doing this"
You should do more video game OSTs. Besides doing the OSTs for the other kingdom hearts games I would recommend the Xenoblade Chronicles OST, it’s top tier video game music.
1.5 represents 3 games including kh1, 2.5 represents 3 more games including kh2and then there's 2.8 which represents 3 more games and then there's kh3 😅 and yes they are all different games that continue the story in some shape or form 😅
"There is no way this song isn't getting copyrighted" Truer words were never spoken, just _try_ and guess how many people had to mute the intro for their live stream or let's play lol
Lol I enjoyed you wondering how they scale the Disney characters to fight giant monsters n shit… Donald is a hard core FF-style mage, goofy is kind of a warrior type and just beats dudes with his shield (I guess goofy is ripped), and Mickey is almost like yoda kind of, flipping around smackin people with his keyblade and using strong magic. Mickey is basically a max level version of the main character. A wise master sort of thing.
need him to listen to some sonic tracks bc those go hard as hell doesnt need to play the games necessarily i just love seeing people talk about the music from the series
@@KANGROSE as a sonic fan some games are hit or miss but the music will always be on top my personal favorite soundtracks being sa2, unleashed, mania, and frontiers 🙏🏽
1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 are all remakes and collections, because the original versions of the games were spread across PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS, 3DS, etc. They wanted to make it so someone with a PS4 and a mobile device could play the entire franchise, because every entry is important to the story. The order goes: Kingdom Hearts 1, Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, 358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep, Re:Coded, Dream Drop Distance, A Fragmentary Passage, X Back Cover (as well as Unchained X and Union X), Kingdom Hearts 3, Melody of Memory, Dark Road. Some of them have "Final Mix" in the title, which just means it's an enhanced version that was released after the original, like Persona 5 vs Persona 5 Royal.
For more contexte, it's more Square Enix that developped the game, the music, the story, the designs,ect... Disney give just the Disney part of the game (princeses, characters,etc...) And after all this work Square Enix does...Disney owns the whole game...yeah
Princess and the Frog was planned for 3 IT WAS PLANNED AND THEY DIDNT DO IT BECAUSE OF FROZEN BROOOOOOO (ok, not *because* of Frozen... But a lot of people have problems with Arendele in KH3. Its a low point that *could have been* the Bayou, bro) 19:02 "But baby, i just want yo kingdom heart" -the villain rizzing up his sword waifu (i will not elaborate) 33:31 Streamer is visited by a heartless
I think you’d really like the final fantasy 7 soundtrack, but unfortunately, it’s SUPER copyrighted, so I’d recommend listening to that one on your free time because their copyright enforcement on that soundtrack is ruthless
So kh 1.5 and 2.5 are collections. 1.5 has kh1 plus extras (a non-numbered game + a cutscene compilation of another game that didn't get a port) 2.5 has kh2 plus extras( same one of each categories as before) I suggest playing in release order though the only order change done in the collections is placing "days" before "2", but you should play kh2 before days. They swapped them so that each collection will have a big numbered game and be equal to eachother basically.
The Great: YOU LISTENED TO MY FAVORITE MUSIC YOU MAD LAD The Eh: You listened to the OG. They redid the game on newer consoles and every song got a better remix called the Final Mix OST. Which is like, orchestral and MUCH better The Comeback: Go get the game on like, Epic or just a console and GET THAT SHIT PLAYED For game order, you can ignore the .5 on games, that just marks if it's a remaster. But the KH 1.5/2.5 collection you can buy has the games in order on the main menu, you just scroll!
better is subjective, especially to the point you wanna replace all the OGs, you gotta remember the roots and appreciate the simpler times, even if they may not seem cleaner
@@NovaAeternus That's fair, that's fair, though a lot of the Final Mix songs (at least in Kh1) were just uncompressed. They were written outside of the PS2 soundfont and converted so some voices were lost due to the pitch. I just consider the KH1 final mix songs to be 'true release'
You missed three songs Chernabog’ boss theme which would play right before the final battle theme and the other two songs One Winged angel. And The Disappeared. Both insanely difficult secret post game bosses
If you ever do the other games check if zoure listening to the 1.5 and 2.5 versions since those are with actual instruments instead of the midis of the ps2 version which don't sound as good
This is the first time in the twenty years I have been playing Kingdom Hearts that I heard the opening and ending in Japanese. I think I prefer the opening in Japanese but the ending is better in English. Utada is talented regardless of the language preference though.
1:04:16 I don't know if somebody else answered this question for you or not. But yes there has been quite a few rerelease of the games over the years. The game's 1.5 and 2.5 are rerelease of KH one and KH two but a better way to think about them is that they updated and added essentially DLC that was only in Japan. So they gave more content to the American audience. They also happen to contain some of the handheld games that are vital to the plot. Kingdom hearts has unfortunately a habit of having a bunch of games on different consoles.... So those games were designed to help fill in the blanks that way you can try to follow the story. ^•^ I could list all the other games there are a ton of games that are in between one and two and between two and three.... But if you start playing them I'm sure someone in your chat or if you want to you can even ask me. Can give you an idea of what order they came out in that way you can play them the same way that everybody else did when we were younger. ^•^ 2:25:49 two more games? Oh you sweet summer child.... XD
1:03:31 yeah the 1.5 and 2.5 are bundles of remasters. 1.5 is a bundle of KH1, KH re:chain of memories and a movie version of KH 358/2 days. 2.5 is a bundle of KH2, KH birth by sleep and a movie version of KH re:coded. There is also a bundle called 2.8 which has KH 0.2, KH Dream Drop Distance and a movie of KH Union X Back cover. Altogether the play order is 1 > chain of memories > 2 > 358/2 days > birth by sleep > re:coded > dream drop distance > union X back cover movie > 0.2 > 3 > union X > dark road > melody of memory
Well, i'd say the other games in the series have incredibly better OSTs, with a few exceptions of course. But nonetheless, i'd say you could either play the games or listen to the music itself.

There's a few tracks you have to give props to Disney for (Disney Castle's theme, The Hundred Acre Wood, This is Halloween, and Under the Sea)
You can definitely feel Kingdom Hearts in some of her earlier work like 'Earth Painting' from Legend of Mana.

Not only that, he does it so fast that no one is able to fully react in time other than Goofy, who's like "Donald, don't!", meaning *Donald has likely done this before*
Gotta add another one to the Zettaflare list. Bahamut pulled it off in FFXVI
in ffxiv, bahamut's gigaflare and teraflare caused the in-game apocalyptic event that deleted the original ffxiv from existence. he can also use exaflare, but only in the ultimate-level version of his fight (the unending coils of bahamut,) which *does not canonically take place.* and zettaflare is higher than all of those.
ff16 Bahamut pulled off a Zettaflare without passing out from exhaustion, so Donald is likely knocked down to 2nd place now.
2:26:28 "there's never a boss after credits"
let me introduce you to bayonetta 3.
You know that song you thought was for a post credits scene? It’s not. It’s actually towards the start during a prophetic nightmare sequence.
Hey Kang, hope you’re doing well, glad to see you’re still up as always ❤️☺️
was not expecting this video. YOU SHOULD PLAY THE GAME!
Listen to the remade soundtrack, it's absolutely amazing. If you play the games that's the one you'll hear
Some songs do sound better in the old version so im glad he's listening to them this way too. Namely Tension Rising loses a lot o its "oomph" in the remake
@@MasterSorezI actually like tension rising in both, I just think the piano in the remake is kinda meh
Happy New Year!
I'm happy to know that you finally listened to KH OST. It's amazing.
8:51 Yeah I can see the dive into the heart as god descending down from the heavens
It gets even funnier when you realize that the melody is based on a liturgical hymnal that was only meant to be sung at a certain time of day on certain days of the year and that anytime the staff worked with the song in production they would be hit by bad luck so it was almost like God was saying "you know you're technically not supposed to be doing this"
For the songs you can search Yoko Shimomura, she is the compositer of most of the iconic musics of all Kingdom Hearts series
You should do more video game OSTs. Besides doing the OSTs for the other kingdom hearts games I would recommend the Xenoblade Chronicles OST, it’s top tier video game music.
Kingdom hearts 1 was my childhood defining game. I played through the game at least 4 or 5 times
1.5 represents 3 games including kh1, 2.5 represents 3 more games including kh2and then there's 2.8 which represents 3 more games and then there's kh3 😅 and yes they are all different games that continue the story in some shape or form 😅
Love how you're vibing with the soundtracks 😂
Keep it up!
"There is no way this song isn't getting copyrighted"
Truer words were never spoken, just _try_ and guess how many people had to mute the intro for their live stream or let's play lol
I finished the series over 2023 and I TOTALLY recommend it!
Your reaction is great!!! Just subbed! 😂😂
You gotta do the kingdom hearts 2 one after this
need him to listen to some sonic tracks bc those go hard as hell doesnt need to play the games necessarily i just love seeing people talk about the music from the series
That’s a bet cause I’ve missed out on so many sonic games growing up
@@KANGROSE as a sonic fan some games are hit or miss but the music will always be on top my personal favorite soundtracks being sa2, unleashed, mania, and frontiers 🙏🏽
Some of them have "Final Mix" in the title, which just means it's an enhanced version that was released after the original, like Persona 5 vs Persona 5 Royal.
holy shit im so locked in
idk if the people gon fw this sadly but i for sure am 😭 id love to see you react to the kh 2 ost if so
KH2 ost goes TOO HARD ❤
01:34:00 yeah, FFVII Remake, FFVII Crisis Core, FFVII Rebirth
01:44:00 If you call London a town, sure...
For more contexte, it's more Square Enix that developped the game, the music, the story, the designs,ect...
Disney give just the Disney part of the game (princeses, characters,etc...)
And after all this work Square Enix does...Disney owns the whole game...yeah
Princess and the Frog was planned for 3 IT WAS PLANNED AND THEY DIDNT DO IT BECAUSE OF FROZEN BROOOOOOO
(ok, not *because* of Frozen... But a lot of people have problems with Arendele in KH3. Its a low point that *could have been* the Bayou, bro)
19:02 "But baby, i just want yo kingdom heart" -the villain rizzing up his sword waifu (i will not elaborate)
33:31 Streamer is visited by a heartless
Yesss kingdom hearts!!!
Btw, consider giving some of the HD remastered music a listen some time, they fully orchestrated the whole thing and it's really quite good
My brothers about to go on a journey
I believe the xylophone-like instrument you were talking about was a marimba.
I think you’d really like the final fantasy 7 soundtrack, but unfortunately, it’s SUPER copyrighted, so I’d recommend listening to that one on your free time because their copyright enforcement on that soundtrack is ruthless
Hell yeah the KH OST is iconic! I hope you react to KH2 and also Chrono Cross (composed by the legendary Yasunori Mitsuda)
So kh 1.5 and 2.5 are collections.
1.5 has kh1 plus extras (a non-numbered game + a cutscene compilation of another game that didn't get a port)
2.5 has kh2 plus extras( same one of each categories as before)
I suggest playing in release order though the only order change done in the collections is placing "days" before "2", but you should play kh2 before days.
They swapped them so that each collection will have a big numbered game and be equal to eachother basically.
I just this game last summer and the music is just 🔥🔥🔥I would recommend getting it fr
The Great: YOU LISTENED TO MY FAVORITE MUSIC YOU MAD LAD
The Eh: You listened to the OG. They redid the game on newer consoles and every song got a better remix called the Final Mix OST. Which is like, orchestral and MUCH better
The Comeback: Go get the game on like, Epic or just a console and GET THAT SHIT PLAYED
For game order, you can ignore the .5 on games, that just marks if it's a remaster.
Definitely play the games bro :3 they're pretty damn fun!
Did someone say "KINGDOM HEARTS"!?!?!?!?
kingdom hearts best series to ever exist
You missed three songs Chernabog’ boss theme which would play right before the final battle theme and the other two songs One Winged angel. And The Disappeared. Both insanely difficult secret post game bosses
Yeah i don’t think he’s listening to the final mix version so some ost might be missing, don’t know bout owa tho
@@Kaies109 only The Disappeared would of Disappeared if that were the case
@@alexninten8818 yeah
If you sholl do doezens of hours of streams from all the games, then I would sholl be there to watch.
fw this; games are fire, you should play as long as you dont get too annoyed with the story writing as it can be all over the place sometimes it seems
If you ever do the other games check if zoure listening to the 1.5 and 2.5 versions since those are with actual instruments instead of the midis of the ps2 version which don't sound as good
You were right that there was an unused song at the end. They had an alternate version of the Deep Jungle battle music.
1:56:07 The disrespect on King Mickey’s name is egregious 😂
Goofy is a dog. Og name “drippy dog”
This is the first time in the twenty years I have been playing Kingdom Hearts that I heard the opening and ending in Japanese. I think I prefer the opening in Japanese but the ending is better in English. Utada is talented regardless of the language preference though.
I've heard the opening version in Japanese before, but not the normal one. Strange after twenty years.
The black princess would be princess Jasmin from Alladin. She a baddie.
2:25:49 two more games? Oh you sweet summer child.... XD
1:03:31 yeah the 1.5 and 2.5 are bundles of remasters. 1.5 is a bundle of KH1, KH re:chain of memories and a movie version of KH 358/2 days. 2.5 is a bundle of KH2, KH birth by sleep and a movie version of KH re:coded. There is also a bundle called 2.8 which has KH 0.2, KH Dream Drop Distance and a movie of KH Union X Back cover. Altogether the play order is 1 > chain of memories > 2 > 358/2 days > birth by sleep > re:coded > dream drop distance > union X back cover movie > 0.2 > 3 > union X > dark road > melody of memory
blud said daffy the duck 😭😭
Hey Bro! I just found your channel man! You should def play KH series, you won’t regret it at all!
You gotta play the games dude , you won’t regret it
This is gonna be a weird request but could you maybe look at the shinobi 3 ost?
“Mickey is not him”
I promise you he is. 😂
I just realized while halfway thru this video I saw your shirt lol🤣
Oh you have no idea what Mickey and Donald can do.
You have like all the games from 2002 to 2013 remastered, for like 20$ so if you can you should give it a shot.
13:30 you're thinking of Kingdom Hearts IV and Missing Link
And to think... this is just from ONE Kingdom Hearts game.;)
49:29 wrong: this is cutscene music.
i wish i could show up in twitch streams more often but work has been tough on me
It hurt seeing him credit Disney for everything when they didn't do shiiit
Bro trying to rizz someone up each time the Melodramatic songs come on has forever ruined the vibes it'll have on me in the future xD
Well, i'd say the other games in the series have incredibly better OSTs, with a few exceptions of course. But nonetheless, i'd say you could either play the games or listen to the music itself.
2:15:56 yes DARKNESS
Ngl some of them tracks would kill used as beats for good rap/hip hop songs
Yoo!!😂😭💀
I can’t take the reaction seriously sadly . For some of the parts of this video that is . But yeah good video.
2:07:04 You wanna bet?
LOL man ur amazing
Description still says undertale lol
2:07:02 he doesnt know chat
