Congratulations on the God-given opportunity that you have received. May you and your enjoy your time together over in the Middle East. God Bless You All.
Happy to have stumbled upon your page. My husband and I will be visiting Doha late November. I’ve been looking up vlogs for the last few months to prepare for our trip, and not one of your videos popped up. Today, I googled “Souq Waqif” and one of your video popped up as a top result (smh). Now you have me asking my husband if he wants to move to Qatar and we haven’t even visited yet. 😅
The stars are aligning lol. So if yall want a tour I’m happy to host. Souq, Vendome Mall, museums, food spots. Lots to do here and the weather is perfect in November. Let me know.
Im really happy for you bro. Hope you and your family will enjoy the peaceful life in Doha. I will also move to Doha with my family this year. Me and my family decided to move to Doha after our last trip last year. Byee Amsterdam, Hello Doha 👋🏼
Smashed it mate. Came across your page when I was looking for reasons to go to Qatar. I'm also in the Oil and Gas industry. I'll keeping knocking on those door till I make it. God bless!
That is amazing, Dayton. Once you learn Arabic, Qataris will welcome you and treat as a family member. A totally different society to the self-centered Western society we live in. Wish you the best!
Starting Arabic classes this summer, it'll be language #4 for me. I know a few phrases, but need to be more conversational. It's not forced here so it makes learning a bit of a crutch.
I tried to message you but couldn’t but I have a few questions. For guy like myself who has trade skills in the automotive industry and not opposed to learning new skills before making a big move like yourself. Is it best to have something more significant under your belt before hand to manage the cost of living and expenses? Maybe in tech or oil industry since it’s in demand there? My concern would be the risk of struggling abroad while balancing the family life. I understand the no tax part. Would that mean I would make more money in a country like Qatar?
That’s amazing! Best of luck to you and your family! What are some other common opportunities for someone looking to move there for work without an actual career?
Hi Dayton, Congratulations on your move with your family. I will definitely be reaching out with some questions about the move as I am in communication with some recruiters in UAE. I wanted to know did you guys have a storage unit you keep your U.S. belongings in or did you sell everything and bought your important things with you?
Sounds good, and we sold pretty much everything. Sentimental items were air freighted from Houston to Doha. The furniture here is amazing and many places are furnished. Shouldn’t be any different in Abu Dhabi or Dubai for you.
Thanks for this video. its excellent 👌🏾 got 2 young kids myself. I’m in London and have been talking to a colleague of mine who’s lived and worked in Qatar the last 15 years. And I’m convinced that’s where I need to be, or at least somewhere in Middle East. Now it’s just how do I convince my Mrs? 😓
Since you’re in London, convincing is easy. One word: TAXES. You don’t pay any here and obviously you won’t have to pay any back home while as an expat. Also, depending on her career, she could find work here. My wife is the head nurse at American Scholl of Doha so lots of options here.
Been in oil and gas since 2007, went back and completed my MBA in 2019, mix of IT and Trading roles on the business side. Definitely IT positions available here. My opportunity in Doha came from LinkedIn
Amazing video very informative and helpful. Do you have any tricks or pointers to get recruiters recruiting in Dohas attention? Really looking forward to work out there very very soon!!

What are some other common opportunities for someone looking to move there for work without an actual career?
Seeing as you’ll need a work visa/sponsor to come here, that route may be extremely difficult.

It’s helps to have specific domain knowledge in oil & gas, specifically LNG. But for me, it was a matter of the recruiter reaching out on LinkedIn
