Michaela's knowledge of all these automobiles is incredible. She needs her own show on the Discovery Channel. It takes years to gather this much knowledge and to be able to share. Very dedicated.
@@MikeBrown-ii3pt Yes, she gets one or two facts mixed, like the 2 CV being a 2 engine car by design (wich one the Sahara version was) or that the 2CV would land on its feet if rolled over, when it is by design nearly impossible to roll it over, but hey: This is a great, eloquent, fact and background information packed tour in one take. She jumps from car to car, in one unedited take, I just think this was brilliant, very entertaining and highly professional as well as passionate.
I understand where you guys are coming from but what about the sheer fact that she stood in front of a camera for 30 plus minutes talking about the cars in front of her and getting out a hell of alot of info on the spot. And add the fact that it was live. We are all human we make mistakes no need to drag it out or immediately go after that. As far of the mid engine car she was talking about the tucker in that which was a 50s rear engine car so that may have stuck in her head while talking. And as far as the ranchero being fords first truck in a way it is because it is fords first truck on a car chassis and based on a car. Which was hugely popular in Australia and started a massive boom in those cars there classified as utes. You have to admit for being live and having to give out 30 plus minutes of infor she did a great job. Most people cant do that without extensive editing and/or info being fed to them.
I'd love to see a quick bio on the hostess and know how she came about being so knowledgeable on so many cars.......super impressive! No editing or teleprompter here. Awesome job!
The Nash Healey was indeed America's first sports car not only by date of release, but also due to the fact that the first gen junkvette had 6cyl motors....
Michaela, you do indeed deserve your own TH-cam Channel, Discovery Channel, or something similar. The knowledge you've accumulated over the years needs to be preserved and we need to ensure that it is always going to remain accessible. I do not know how you've managed to accumulate such a prodigious amount of information, but you have so obviosly done just that! Know that my hat is off to you for such an amazing accomplishment. Having lived in LA for many years I've visited the Peterson Museum many times and wish I were still geographically close enough to do so again.
Michaela what a wonderfully utilitarian outfit. You can go from giving a very educational automobile lecture to rotating tires without changing your clothes!
Excellent presenter. She is so fortunate to be there, as is Peterson for having such an obviously passionate and knowledgeable person! Please let her use the Citroen as her driver!!!!!!
well done. I have been to the Petersen and seen the wonderful displays... imagine getting to work there!!! She does a damn good job on this, great knowledge.
Michaela, you're knowledgeable and personable and wonderful and I really enjoy your tours, and the crowning glory would be beautiful pronunciation of French and Italian car names! Maybe the museum could spring for a quick course; it shouldn't be too difficult!
We missed the chat but still love the cars and Her knowledge of history. We sure miss all the local car shows.😥 Thank you so much!😊⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You guys make us feel less trapped. 👍👨👨👧👦 This is always fun to learn for our 11 year old twins and they can say they had history today from a great teacher! 👍😁👍👨👨👧👦😉🙏 Again Soon!???
Spectacular. I was at the museum last year and was able to see it live. The "safe" is an experience that everyone should have. I hope to be able to return next year. Congratulations on the video initiative.
Amazing, thank you for taking us on such an in depth and informative tour! The collection is outstanding, so many to choose from. Excellent narration and extremely knowledgeable! Was hoping to view the 'presidential' type cars as per the video title? Looking forward to another great tour!!
Very interesting video. Well paced, and the host was excellent. This is the first Petersen Automotive Museum video I have watched, but I instantly subscribed. I hope this young lady narrates all of your videos. PS: I am a long-time reader of Motor Trend, so I have been familiar with the Petersen name.
Love the Petersen, but admission and parking are SOO expensive! And this special "vault tour" adds $$$. The Nethercutt Collection, not that far away from here, in Sylmar, is still (knock wood!) free. If you love cars, both facilities are a MUST!
Very Cool, and refreshing to see someone so knowledgeable. Did I miss something though? Where were the Presidential Cars mentioned (other than seen in the background)?
I saw them in another video. Go to this channel and you can find it as all these tours have been produced to provide service to the public during lockdown.
Bravo on this presentation this young lady is a fantastic speaker a true asset to any business i think no matter what the big 3 were going to run tucker out of business they were afraid of him imo so the big 3 used their muscle with the federal government its the same story just the nam,es and ideas change over the years Ghia designs were always way ahead of their time even todays European designers go all out with the beautiful flowing lines
Thanks, nice overview: some postWar stuff.. interestingly my first car was a 1954**Ford/3 on Tree / White over Blue/ENGINE 289-57 V8/4 BBL/ dual EXHAUSTS....etc. I had forgotten how pretty the 62 TBIRD is, etc.
Hello Miss Micheala- Please tell us the story about that '47 Lincoln convertible. It looks to be a Kustom job that's been nosed and decked, and has had a "fadeaway" fender treatment done to it. Was it done in one of the famous West Coast shops? Cheers!
Can't watch Vehicle Virgins anymore so I'm watching this and I was extremely impressed! Also, the hostess is very easy on the eyes. She's going to need a body guard now to keep the guys away from here! Seriously! If I wasn't in my 30's already ......
Great initiative by Peterson Museum/collection. I am sure there are limits to your liberty in how much detail you can get to show us. I wish more detailed shots of inside and outside of each car could be possible. These would make a great achieve for generations to come. Presentation is good and cameraman is doing his best given those limitations that I assume to be there. I wish there were a better coordination between the two. When camera is at the back, she is referring to details in the front, while talking about one car, camera mainly shots another. A little bit of better planning, before each shot would increase the quality a lot. Thank you very much though. In any case these are delight to watch.
Nice collection, some beautiful cars. I have to point out that the Ford Ranchero for '57 was hardly Fords first truck, though. I have to believe that you know that. Otherwise, well done!
Preston Tucker's "leftover military hangar in Chicago" was actually Dodge-Chicago, six million square feet of office and factory where Chrysler built B29 Superfortresses during WWII. The Citroen 2CV had two engines??? Two cylinders, not two engines. Max Hoffman wasn't Porsche's "marketing guy." He was Porsche's American importer. Max didn't have a damned thing to do with Herbie the Love Bug, either. Other than that, she's almost perfect! Should be in a dress.
You are definitely a car fanatic and you do a very good job of describing the cars in their individual eras. However, you left out an extremely important post-war automobile and design. you left out the introduction of the "Step Down" design introduced by the 1948 Hudson line. I might also add that Hudson and Nash were pioneers in "uni-body" construction which is the norm today.
The Hot Wheels were actually made to out do Corgi, Dinky, and Matchbox . As the Mattels were being told by family friends children being unhappy with the poor quality of axles used in the English toys.
The Fairlane sedan came out before 57. The 57 hardtop convertable was a ragtop. The big 62 T-Bird had more seats under the tonneau cover. The 2CV is awful to drive, under powered, uncomfortable with lawn chair type seat and body by Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil.
i think she made a mistake regarding the 57 Ford saying it was a hardtop retractable when clearly the soft top was sitting in the boot. thats what it looks like to me.
Michaela's knowledge of all these automobiles is incredible. She needs her own show on the Discovery Channel. It takes years to gather this much knowledge and to be able to share. Very dedicated.
@topherh33 ranchero is a ute
@topherh33 it's Ute not truck
great influence by her family, anyone knows her background?
She’s amazing and so knowledgeable. Thanks so much for this.
This is a great watch and she is sooo knowledgeable. Give her a raise! I learned so much cant wait till I can visit the museum.

Yes I second this!!
I thought the very same thing, she's amazing!
Great knowledge and another great video from Petersen 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
The Nash Healey was indeed America's first sports car not only by date of release, but also due to the fact that the first gen junkvette had 6cyl motors....

that's great! thank you guys! I wish I visited the museum when I came to LA, but I didn't even know it existed :(
Great tour! That’s not a ford hardtop convertible, it’s the regular sunliner convertible

Awesome - good job. Just basically try not to say basically. Peace and how about that Dodge Storm wow! 😍
So many amazing cars. Did I see a hot rod with a flat-8 Porsche engine ?? Possibly a flat-8 aircraft engine ?? So many questions....

Thank you for your feedback.
At about 33 min. she miss-identifies at 1957 Ford SOFT TOP Sunliner convertible to be a retractable hardtop (Skyliner), which it is not.
I remember going to the Peterson and telling my friends about all the cars we saw. I would love to do that and get paid for it.
She might know more than anyone I know of, of a whole lot of cars. How could she possibly know so much? !
I love the looks of a 1953 Vette
22:10 I believe this car was driven not by Audrey Hepburn but by William Holden.
I love this girl!
Nice collection, some beautiful cars. I have to point out that the Ford Ranchero for '57 was hardly Fords first truck, though. I have to believe that you know that. Otherwise, well done!
The tucker is such a great looking car it’s such a shame it never took off.

Or at the least not shop clothes.
Perhaps Michaela would provide us a comment on how she became so knowledgeable.
Michaela is very cute !!!!
She is so smart!
I would like to drive the 1954 Plymouth Explorer in the day and 1953 Cadillac Ghia Coupe in the night.
I love her PART 2
I want a michaela series for the whole collection.

do you have Lana Turner's Chrysler Newport duel cowl Phaeton
Where's The Vault located and is it open to the public?
Our vault is under our museum! It is open to the public. You can purchase tickets here: www.petersen.org/tickets

It would be nice too edit in various old marketing and sale materials.
It was a Boeing Manufacturer hanger, and it was a Lycoming engine .
The big 3 had something to do with it all said and done.
Do you guys call it Chevy or Chevrolet in the US?
GM would contract Farina (it wouldn't become Pininfarina until 1961) to build the Fleetwood Brougham in 1959 and 1960
