All my eight grade friends back in 1965 watched SUPER CHICKEN we would do the S.C. cry in the hall all the nuns didn't know what that was, those were the days, now I'm retired where did the time go !
Super Chicken, Tom slick, George of the jungle, Jonny Quest, Amazing Spider Man, The Herculoids all had great theme tunes and great memories me my kid brother as sit and watch
I think Spider Man had a great theme song...plus it was played by an orchestra...but I agree the first three you mentioned...the King Kong cartoon theme was also great...and of course Speed Racer....
Fred : if he was born rich why does he become a thief : Answer to stay rich LOL From then to now Too funny pure gold Thanks for the blast from the past..
As a kid in the 70's I used to watch Super Chicken on KTLA 📺Channel 5,and I grew up in southern N.M.about 90 miles north of El Paso. Tom Hatten did a show on Sunday morning featuring all kinds of Popeye & other cartoons like Tom Slick🏎🏁and George of the Jungle.
I love the funny humor of this classic cartoon. I would say the short lived show “Police Squad” and later the “Naked Gun” movies were inspired by these Bill Scott and Jay Ward cartoons. I am from Maine and at 3 min and 7 sec in this episode the narrator Paul Frees mentioned the town of Mattawamkeag which is about 9 miles from my hometown East Millinocket.
Funny adult play on words at mark 5:16 when Super Chicken calls the bad guy an MF, actually he says "malefactor". Too funny, and creative, great memories. I used to love George of the Jungle, Tom Slick, and Super Chicken. In college I met a girl named Mellisa M. (Chapman College 1970) whose parents had a beach house in Emerald Bay and their neighbors I was told were the father and son creators of George of the Jungle.
The sad thing is that I was five years old in 1967 and still remember the Saturday morning cartoons I watched and more than a few of the commercials that ran with them. A mind is indeed a terrible thing to waste.
never in my life (and I am 41) have I EVER heard of Super Chicken. This is one of those gems I was hoping to find here on TH-cam. Just so funny and silly.
In '67, this cartoon was packaged into a half hour--Tom Slick, Geo. of the Jungle, and the Bard of the barnyard here. Always thought Super Chicken was the funniest.
5:12 No, seriously, *WHO* puts a skull & crossbones - A *Pirate* (Unless the bones are black against a yellow background, then it means poison) symbol - on a tank?!?!?
Man, what a blast from the past! I used to watch reruns of this as a kid! A super hero that needed his super sauce? How often did he need to add tabasco sauce? (I'm thinking it was a bloody mary; if he really wanted super powers, he shoulda made it a 5-pepper version).
@MrFrostMourne1 who will probably never see this: SuperChicken was 8 years before Monty Python & the Holy Grail, though it seems great minds do think alike. Hooray for the classics.
Not sure I'm naming the right actor but does Fred sound like Ed Wynn? Watched these cartoons as a kid. Like Rocky and Bullwinkle, so much humor that went right over kids heads. Great stuff!!
Sometimes - even in troubled times - I need a good laugh...hope it got a chuckle for you as well. But imagine what life would be life if we were just 'plucked' away from the other 49...'Sure makes a nice looking bay, doesn't it?' There are days I wish it were possible...and yes, this is probably the best knock on little Rhody ever!!
From the creators of "Rocky & Bullwinkle," of course. Three Rocky & Bullwinkle references: (1) Navigators were named Edgar & Chauncey, the same names as the innocent bystanders in R & B. (2) Bullwinkle mentioned "Tick Tock Tech" in the episode "Wossamatta U." (3) Isn't that Bullwinkle's head on Mr. Henhouse's wall???
This was a great show! I really miss it. Why doesn't anyone air this and George of the Jungle anymore? Sure beats the stupid, gross and inappropriate stuff they put in kids' shows today.
That caused a great deal of controversy, educators reported students were writing it backwards in school assignments since they saw it on “Super Chicken”
"Your message couldn't be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive." Seriously? Superchicken is abusive? I think Facebook is drunk again.
I love the voice Bill Scott gave Super Chicken. Perfect voice for the cute rooster superhero.
OMG, it's 2023 and this still cracks me up...childhood time capsule!
Those years most of TV was one big comedy. People were happy. And Super Chicken reinforced it!!
“You knew the job was dangerous when you took it”
Oh why oh why did I have to grow up and become an adult 😋🥲 . Being 7 thru 10 years of age was just great 😊😇 .
Hilarious 😆😆 Definitely a favorite from my childhood.
My siblings and I still say "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it,Fred!"
Same here!
Dangerously Dangerous
From Moosup to Mattawamkeag, Maine
Echoes of Rocky & Bullwinkle from the same folk....Edgar & Chauncey, and Tick Tock Tech....never let a good joke go to waste! Good old "Rowed" Island!
Great stuff...loved this show as a kid in the mid 1960's.....

"That fiend must've sneaked in someone from Massachusettes!" Clever!
And that's how Rhode Island was returned - it was rowed.

"If he was born rich, why did he become a thief?"
"To STAY rich!"
"Oh."
Bitting satire at its best!
I remember this from about forty years ago. Brilliant.
It is Super Chicken you face…it is Super Chicken you approach…it is Super Chicken you have just run over LOL Too funny...
I’m from R.I. I knew it was just a matter of time before it went missing.
Yep. They just don't make 'em like this anymore. More's the pity.
HAPPY AND WAY
Captain Nice (Carter Nash) drank a potion. Mister Terrific swallowed a pill.
In '67, this cartoon was packaged into a half hour--Tom Slick, Geo. of the Jungle, and the Bard of the barnyard here. Always thought Super Chicken was the funniest.
You knew the job was dangerous when you took it Fred
Newport really DOES have an annual jazz festival! Education AND clever puns!

Harvard College of Watch Repair. AKA: Tick-Tock-Tech. I love it!
@MrFrostMourne1 who will probably never see this: SuperChicken was 8 years before Monty Python & the Holy Grail, though it seems great minds do think alike. Hooray for the classics.
You knew that avatar was dangerous when you made it, Fred
I love Monty Python too
So that's how it was returned.... it was
Rhode.
RIP Bill Scott
A child's cartoon written for adults.
We would have to wait for Animaniacs for this to happen again.
Apian Way
Ways of Providence
Tic toc tech
But if he was born rich, why'd he become a thief?
Too stay RICH!!!
"To STAY rich!!"
Not sure I'm naming the right actor but does Fred sound like Ed Wynn? Watched these cartoons as a kid. Like Rocky and Bullwinkle, so much humor that went right over kids heads. Great stuff!!
That's Paul Frees doing his best Ed Wynn impression.
Paul used the same voice for Captain Peachfuzz on R&B
@@rwlwrestlingleague2975 at 1:52 is sounds like huckleberry hounds voice in a way
I love the SUper CHicken theme song!
🎶 He will drink his super sauce and throw the Bad guys for a loss, and he will bring them in alive and kickin'. 🎵
"It is Super Chicken you have just run over!" XD!
I love the school song!
haha Rhode Island was Rowed back... ha.... favorite episode of super chicken ever!
Sometimes - even in troubled times - I need a good laugh...hope it got a chuckle for you as well. But imagine what life would be life if we were just 'plucked' away from the other 49...'Sure makes a nice looking bay, doesn't it?' The island was ROWED! BWAK!
Ah..What memories... It seems long ago that I dawned that cape and cruised the skies in the Sooper-Coop...."Balk-EEEEEEEEK!"
aka Henry Cabot Henhouse III
To blow the first flugelhorn riff at the Rhode Island Jazz Festival...classiiic.
"Sure makes a nice looking bay, doesn't it?" I'm wetting myself.
Thumbs up if you remember Telephone party lines...
Some nosy sort would always listen in/!!! Sort of like the NSA today??!!
Aw, we do not.
I had a party line as late as 1984 (!)
They should have used Delaware!! That's a State NO one would miss!

To rhyme with "mater." Or closely enough.
+HowardSalwasser I heard Tick Tock Tech lost horribly to Wossomatta University.
+Yosef Demby Who does Tick Tock Tech face next in the repêchage? Acme Looniversity?
When your chicken needs a lickin' and your nose needs a pickin'...

cd637299 yeah I was thinking that too
great show
I've been thinking about this show a lot lately.
Why was a chicken hanging out with a lion? Despite the silliness love the memories.
He knew the job was dangerous when he took it.
OMG--I havent heard that theme song in over four decades... lol
‘When there is no one else to turn to...’
In other words, only call this guy if you are absolutely desperate.
I can see that.
Daws Butler voices Apian Way. I think that's how you spell his name.
Stop playing 😂lol to stay rich he stated steeling
Watch it while you can!!!
Ikr! I am and enjoying every bit of it! 😊
I watched this for the first time. Interesting at least.
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
If they took Tasmania it would take longer for the rest of Australia to realise.
This was a great show! I really miss it. Why doesn't anyone air this and George of the Jungle anymore? Sure beats the stupid, gross and inappropriate stuff they put in kids' shows today.
I could write better stuff than they have on TV now.

@MrFrostmourne1 Are you sure this didn't pre date MPFC?
How did it return? It was Rowed..
Claiming single combat right from fellow tick tock fraternity member? Wasn't he afraid of his secret identity being told to the world that way?
I wondered that too
how much is a jillion? I don't think they make bills that big.
It's a made-up number like a zillion.
Isn't Appian Way played by Snidely Whiplash?
did he call old boy a "malefactor".....? 🤔
luv it
Word to that! ^^
Where did you get this? I loved this when i was a kid in the 60's.
Rich people do not need to steal in order to stay rich!!
Couldn't they have borrowed Peter Griffin's Peterchopper to tow it back?
SUPER CHICKEN
LOL - I live in Rhode Island :P
There's no such thing as 83 jillion dollars!
Fear not Fred Rhode Islanders are notoriously poor shots. What happened. That fiend must have sneaked in someone from Massachusetts.
Eighty three jillion dollars. Brilliant.
Before there was Sullenburger...
Why is Freds "F" on his shirt backwards?
Pearson Saunders good question!
That caused a great deal of controversy, educators reported students were writing it backwards in school assignments since they saw it on “Super Chicken”
AGUANTE SUPER-POLLO!!!!
"Your message couldn't be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive."
