In 1978, I went to a concert in Dallas where Rick James (bitches) was the headliner and there were two other artists with the concert.. It was 1978 y'all and Prince was the opening band and the reason why I went. His first hit was I Want To Be Your Lover. Great song to dance to, dance dance dance, move your body to...
My other all time fav is Do Me Baby, which was often called the Orgasm Song and when you hear this song you'll know why it was called that. For me, there has never been another Prince song that has moved me the way this one did. I can still remember how powerful that song was and, this may sound strange, but certain songs can reach inside your soul, grab you and enfuse you with emotions and you just feel so alive ... Yep, this is that kind of song.
I went to that concert in Detroit! Prince turned it out but his first hit was Soft and Wet off his first album For You. I Wanna Be Your Lover was off Prince's second album titled Prince and came out in 1979.
