This is actually so helpful man, I’ve been relearning guitar for about a month after not playing for about 5 months and I’ve been struggling to get back into it and find good tutorials but this is awesome and motivated me. OH and if you don’t mind, where’s the guitar from or the name of it? It’s beautiful-
Great job! Your style of teaching is perfect - clear, but not too slow/tedious. I think Impera has the fullest, and most ambitious guitar parts/layering. Tobias said that Fedrik Akesson from Opeth did all the guitars for the final recording (though Tobias had recorded all the demos). Do you notice a difference between this and previous albums?
Thanks man. Very much so. He’s clearly playing Tobias riffs etc but the solos are all his. Some the fast picking and techniques involved are of a high level. I think many are gonna struggle with some of the solos on this album whereas before they may have managed. I love his style. I’ve always loved players like him.
Thanks, helped me a lot!! Just wanted to point out the first three notes on the fast section of the solo at 7:37 are tabbed wrong. You're actually playing it right, but it should be 14 16 18 instead of 13 14 16. Cheers!!

I’m only like halfway through the tutorial, but unholy fuck I might actually be able to play rhythms for this one!!!!! (Unless there’s a curveball of some huge stretches coming up ahead…) Edit: I have a question, during the end of the first solo (the last 6 notes) does a third guitar harmony come in? Or is it a keyboard harmony? Or am I just going crazy?
I've been looking at the Hagstrom guitar. Are you playing clean? Distortion? What effects if any? Is the clean tone at 12:29 just how the guitar sounds? Great job. If you are not a nameless ghoul, you should be.
Hello man For this you want chorus and delay for the cleans and a good gain for the heavy parts. I use a Kemper now but for majority of my earlier covers I used a Line 6 firehawk. It doesn’t matter what you use as long the effect sounds good.
I don’t know. It all depends what you have. Just don’t add too much gain but too little won’t work either. Make sure it’s not like a fuzz and add delay to wetten it up.👍🏻
the things you write at the bottom are just confusing, I don't understand why you can't just overlay a tab picture of the measures you're showing on top when there are so many free and extremely easy to use tab programs. Hell you can even make tabs online in seconds no need to even download anything.
It takes a lot longer than seconds to make tabs and add them to a 15 minute video. Tabs will be available in due course. As for the numbers, I’ll put it to a vote. I’ll happily remove them if that’s what people want.
If you don't like the fact that he is taking his valuable time and making a video then sit in your bedroom and learn it for weeks like he did... don't be pompous and ungrateful

Thank you - that’s great! It’s a Gibson RD. You may find it easier to look for a Hagstrom Fantomen (what they use later/now)

Ive found it significantly harder to learn the Impera songs by ear and play the solos for sure compared to every other album

Thank you. It’s a Gibson RD. Also check out Hagstrom Fantomen which Ghost use currently. They changed from the Gibson to the Hagstrom. Same shape.

Yes man. This is their default tuning for most although drop C is on some of the other new tracks.✊🏻
