    As my daytona660 reached 3k miles mark, i've collected some users experience that i would like to share. First off all i would say that dont rush buying a quickshifter just for the name... this bike has insanely buttery smooth gearbox and very gentle clutch lever, you might even feel unsure that if you changed gears or not on your first couple runs :) Also no video ever mentions that between riding modes, both throttle mapping AND traction control levels change. So you have 3 different traction settings but its factory setting and cannot be altered, you just can turn it off regardless of what riding mode you are in. Besides these, if you want to upgrade your bike from something like a yamaha or honda (like i did) the quality overall is incredibly superior. Riding this bike is awesome if you know what you ride for... In my mind this is the sweet spot of all bikes. This bike is literally master of none but jack of all trades for sure.

      Thanks for the insight. By any chance did you get to compare this to the Suzi gsx8r? Also been eyeing the KTM 990, the torque will help when my lady wants to join

      @@gabrieltiso8537 I research like crazy before i buy anything, and i know exactly what i want; more than 2 cylinders, traction control was a must for me. That eliminates gsx8r r7 and ktm for me… also i wanted some wind protection or a bike that handles wind well… so i didnt want a trident and was hoping if triumph would do the same as yamaha mt07-r7 thingy and made a racing style fairing equipped version of trident, wasnt expecting them to make it a weird daytona tbh but that decision checked all the boxes for me and i purchased it. My recommendation is for you to write down what you want from a bike and narrow your list accordingly and then go test drive.

      @@karaagacalican I always like to see how other riders approach these decisions and what is important seeing as most people don't have a garage with 12 bikes. In my couple years of riding it's only been big dual sport/ super moto bikes so the power curve on a twin is more similar. Much appreciation for the detailed response. Happy riding 🤙

    • @karaagacalican
      @karaagacalican 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@gabrieltiso8537 My economical state also dictated a lot in my decision, like you said its not easy to have 12 bike garage :) and theres not a bike that can do everything perfect. I use my bike as means of transportation as well as fun and financial part of buying and owning a bike was also a crucial part in my decision. My first bike was a yamaha mt-25 and i learned a lot with it in 40k on the odometer. I felt the need of having more wind protection, lack of power to ride higher speeds on highway and style/looks. Those factors helped a lot in my decision process. I hope you make a good decision when choosing your next bike and have great time with it.

      I have the bluetooth module on my 765rs. Took about 10 attempts to get working initially. (would pair but then say it's not paired, wouldn't display maps, or would mute my music to give directions and then wouldn't restart my music). Finally paired to an iPhone with wired headphones, I can skip tracks and hear sat nav directions but the volume control does nothing and if I pause a track then unpause, the display says the song is playing but there's no audio. I have to monetarily unplug the headphones and plug them back in again to regain sound. It's very frustrating.

    I would rather prefer it if it had the 765 engine. It 's not only more powerful, especially in the mid-range, but it has also this rawness we loved in the older 955 triple engines. On the contrary, the 660 engine feels more like a well-tuned 4-cylinder. Now with that top power going up the rev-range, I imagine things will be even worse at the bottom and middle range.

    Something something about doesn't deserve the Daytona name, I do agree about that however if triumph planning to make Daytona based on 765 engine then this Daytona is deserved, if not then ZX4 or ZX6 is much better option for more sporty option. While i do agree that triple engine is great but can't running slip on is big deal breaker for me, if i want daily sportbike then new CBR650R is much better option specially with the new E-clutch

      @101BadBreath 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's just a pity that every time the CBR650R is tested against the R7 and GSXR-8R it is the one that comes away being slightly boring... it's more of a laid back sport touring than sport. It tries to be a jack of all trades and really is the master of none. If you want something ultra smooth, reliable and ultra comfortable on a sensitive little bum, sure then get it.

I am still not sure you can call a R7 and GSXR-8R a bit boring when they are dynamically better handling and a CBR650R is too heavy.

    Nice review. It's a decent bike but is let down by flat & uninspiring handling which doesn't match the motor. I ended up choosing between it & the GSX8R & opted for the Suzuki. The 660 looks better, the engine is more exciting & it has better tyres as standard too. Brakes are very similar feeling but the GSX8R handles better, is more planted & comfortable imo. It also has better warranty & build quality than the Daytona as things like the rear sets are cheap looking, especially the rear brake on the 660. The Suzuki dash is miles better too but the Daytona's is fine & it didn't have any bearing on my decision. For me it came down to liking twins more & the low down torque on the GSX8R is more usable & fun at legal speeds as you can just grunt it around. Comparatively with the Triumph, which is still quite torquey for what it is, you have to wind it up much more to get the best out of the engine. It's definitely fun but it's easier to get yourself in trouble if you're chasing the redline in 4th gear & above. However, the Triumph is a class leader in waiting imo if they upgrade the suspension & geometry a little. Personally if I had one I would get some fork cartridges & a new shock which I considered but the cost started to escalate as the QS is extra too & it wasn't worth it to me personally as I got the GSX8R with a full Akra system with a QS too for the same price.

    A used Daytona 675 or Street triple 675 is a far better bike for less money than this made in Thailand POS.

    CFmoto is bringing a 675cc triple sports bike that will beat this in every aspect... the only thing it has going for it is the brand name.

      The CFmoto is specced very close to the Daytona 660 lol
      We'll see if the CFmoto is even reliable

    Why does every manufacturer refuse to make a new 115-140ish horsepower supersport that isnt a zx6r/cbr600rr or gsxr? Why do we get limp beginner bikes like this and the r7 that don't even crack 100 hp...? And the aprilia rs660 doesnt really count because aprilia is trash and unreliable.

      Because no one buys them. How long did it take the 765 moto 2 daytona to sell its limited run? 2? 3 years? They had to pull it off NA market and sell remainder worldwide. No one is buying them and euro 5 soon euro 6 punish high revving motors.
