An old hunter once told me: The spirit of the hunt not only gives us prey, but also hunts itself. Sometimes)) And who is he hunting? I asked. He didn't answer. And this thought is always with me in the forest.
That's a fascinating perspective on hunting! The connection between the hunter and the prey is truly something special.
Cam is an original human and people have the audacity to try and shame him but if the big one ever happened those people would be begging for his help if they didn't melt already. Mindset, no quitting and it's that simple be the man everyday

Thanks for putting this out. I remember about 15 years ago. Some friends of mine paid me to make a small documentary about the wolves that the federal government was bringing in just north of whitefish Montana. And the wolves were killing a lot of the baby elk and deer and we were not allowed to shoot them at all. They were bread by the federal government and paid people to have them on their land. Then they would let the gigantic wolves go and kill deer, elk, calves, and I think One even hurt a young child. Thanks again for all you guys do. Watching from Central Texas.

Cam is legendary!!! I live a couple hours south of him, I go to the same bow shop, The Bow Rack. Hunting the Oregon Coast range for Roosevelt Elk is brutal, brushy and very steep. I killed a 4 point rag horn bull this last season, the unit we hunt gives out 900 tags with 10% success rate. It had been 11 years since I had killed a bull. Only killed 4 in the 20ish years I been hunting them, definitely makes the success that much sweeter.
That's amazing! Congratulations on your successful hunt and perseverance over the years. Hunting Roosevelt Elk in the Oregon Coast range sounds like quite the adventure!

Haha, I can see how that might sound a little crazy! But hey, you never know what's out there in the wild, right?
Just found your channel last week and so binging thru your excellent interviews, thank you! As for hunting, have given it tons of thought over the years and in the end I only take issue with killing for fun (like in Africa, say lions bred to be killed) & poaching. About 25 years ago I was reading learning lots about ancient native practices … and learned how hunting in-pono was, first offering up a prayer with a clear intention … and then when stalking an animal and it turns looking straight at you never turning or running away … was considered the spirit of that animal was making an offering to you so that you can live … that really got my attention. So was interesting hearing Cameron’s POV & practices with integrity. As for young men … IMO, we have a crisis because the CIA narrative BS leaves them not knowing who they are, so confused, therefore turning to alcohol & drugs. Yes we all know how women have been abused … but IMO, men have had it much worse over the past eons … in much more insideous way.
