Thank you for showing this little trick -- HP support website was completely useless. I was shocked to find 20 sheets of paper stuck in the bottom of my printer.

I too have to say ty, i thought i was going to have to take this printer apart. found 4 sheets of photo paper that have been stuck in there for 2 years. Your doing the lords work!

Ditto, worked for myself also! It was not easy. I had opened the rear door, pulled the paper out, and the rear door would not close...I had to reset that spring and reset the pulldown tray. It is not obvious or intuitive. I had to view the video several times to make sure I did it. Took me 3 or 4 tries before could release that spring, lower the inside mechanism, reseat the mechanism, and the rear door closed...I would not have figured it out... Thanks for posting this!

It is 1:54 AM. I have just jammed my mother's fancy printer while trying to print an image onto transfer paper, which is evidently not made to withstand the heat of a laser printer. It took my small and disoriented mind more than three attempts at unsuccessfully running the transfer paper through for me to draw any idea that a hot printer may melt the material which reacts to heat. Here is where the problem arose. I could have stopped here, admitted my defeat, and moved on to either buy proper paper in the morning or simply not continue my mission. Oh ho ho; if only. I ran another piece through. This time I prayed that God would ignore my Atheism, turn from famine, war, and poverty, to grant a sinner a cool T-shirt. The paper got stuck. I, stubborn and desperate, ignored the printer's woeful cries and forced it to continue printing through the jam. To my utter shock a plain piece of printer paper came through, saturated with my design and creased on one corner. But where did the transfer paper go?! I checked the front, back, and bottom flaps, now only wanting to FIND the missing piece so as not to ravage my dearest creator's exorbitant pictorial presser. I sent another piece through; a plain piece now, printer paper, set to come out white; and, once more--JAM!! I pulled the piece out the back as you would but it ripped. I fell to the floor any cried out in agony. Except I didn't because everyone is sleeping and it wasn't that deep but still. Finally I looked to TH-cam. One video after the next, I checked every compartment of the printer I could find, as you would a lover, but no where have I found the paper. I am feeble and unable to flip the printer, but I search the crevices none the less. Loss. I now resort to commenting on this video, which I once had hoped would solve my problems. I type slow on my mother's computer, her keyboard unfamiliar to my hands and wonder what the morning will bring. Will I solve this issue before then? Will I find the missing paper and fix the contraption of which I broke? Will I have a laugh with my mother in the morning about how close I came to being kicked out of the house? Or, if all comes to naught, will I perish? I refuse to give up. So whether I work until dawn breaks and my deliverer finds me, sweaty, covered in ink, eyes lit from the end-all sun, or I fix the printer and drift peacefully to sleep, fate will have chosen my win or loss, not my fatigued muscles.
Okay, I have removed both the right side cover and backside cover to reveal the terrifying wired insides of the printer. My paper is stuck in the scary black teeth, which I thought to be removable, only to discover the wires attached from the teeth to the printer. It is off but the metal and the tiny cords are frightening me, and I am unsure of how to proceed. I was able to remove a small part of the blank ripped paper but I cannot venture further. I know the transfer paper is somewhere in there. My next move is to put the printer back together and attempt to print a blank piece once more. I wish good luck to myself.
I am at a loss. I know the paper is in there. I print fine sheets with merely a wrinkle down them, but I know the transfer paper is in there. It's my white whale. I hear it crunching through the teeth of the printer as documents slide through, but it never shows itself. I know it must still be together, still holding on for dear life as its environment tries to shred it to bits. If it had been shredded I would be receiving bits of paper out the back or along with my documents. What is it doing in there? Is it conscious? To add to my craze I'm hearing voices. I'm pretty sure that's unrelated though on account of me not having slept more than a combined 6 hours this week. Hallucinations and such often come with sleep deprivation, but it makes me wonder: what has my obsession brought me to. On the good side, I am getting better at typing on this keyboard. On the bad side, I'm toast. I could leave this mess and pretend it wasn't I who broke it. It would be easy--easy to lie that is. It would be unfaithful to my mother but I'm not very honorable anyway. The hard part is that I am documenting my every thought, every move on a comment on her TH-cam account. It would be nothing less than a signed confession--well however much that's worth after lying about it in the first place. But would it even be lying? What if I never bring it up? Leave it for her to discover on her own? I could run away, then by the time she crinkles her document and traces the clues back to me I'll have been long gone. Where could I go? What if I just told her straight that I broke her printer? HAHAHAHA Like I would survive that. Maybe I'll break my legs. Then when she finds out I'll be in a vulnerable state. People usually go easier on you if they think you're hurting too. That's what I do with my dad sometimes. He'll lash out at people for nothing of their fault but to let out his anger, and the best thing to do in that position is to pretend he hurt your feelings. If you get mad he'll have a reason to be angry. If you're upset he'll want to sympathize. It is 3:25. I have jammed my mother's printer and I am unsure of how to proceed.
I will be leaving this monologue opened on her computer. Being direct is hard, but if I am away for the tidal wave I may have a chance of surviving. I gave it my all, and so I fall here. I broke my oath. I said I would work until I was forced to stop--that I would not fall slave to my weary body. There is nothing more I can do. I am not tired, so part of my promise I'll keep, but I admit that I am unable to fix the printer. Farewell, land of the living. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

No need to flip the printer to the side ( toner could spill inside the printer)
Pull out the tray
Press the green tab located on the left side to release the duplex paper guide
Remove the paper
Push up the duplex paper guide
Reinstall the paper tray
Test it

@lg8063 need to use something thin with double sided tape or if you can get tape to stick to it and use that to pull it. Maybe cereal box type material or manilla folder.

Hi!! This is so helpful! What about if it’s printing full black pages and all toner cartridges are new.
Something is wrong with the fuser. Likely need to replace the printer. Not sure how to fix that.

There is a green button in the front of the paper tray nr2 witch you pulled out. You press that and the same wil happen.

Hi friend, what if you can't see the paper anymore from the output bin, paper broke off so some are probably still stuck but not visible and I can't afford to have it serviced

I can't find any paper jammed anywhere, Mine still says "Jam in Print Paper Path".
Might be the switch that tells it when paper went through or not.

@@ItsBinhRepaired yea, half my paper is still stuck inside the machine while i yanked out the other half by accident. The half paper stuck inside is lodged in quite tightly in there, so tugging won't work out.
some helpful advice would be rly nice as my final exam is in a couple days and i gotta print past papers to solve as practice.
@@yaniv010 not too sure without seeing it. You can try using a thin tool with some double sided tape on it to try and stick it to what's left.
