- Today we will be reviewing the ADF parts replacement process for the HP Color Laserjet M477 M377 M426 M281 M427 M277 ADF Maintenance Kit
ADF is Acronym for automatic document feeder
We will be using the M477 as our demo printer today for the installation. The procedure is similar across all the models described.

This M477 kit is available in a number of different options at metrofuser.

Do you have a video for replacing the RM-6372-000CN paper pickup assembly on the M477?
So all the listed printers use the identical parts listed or there's a seporate kit for each and the procedure is the same?
Replaced ours and it’s not separating the pages. Wants to take the whole thing in. I made sure everything is exactly how yours was. New pad and roller set.
If you put it back together and it pulls 2-3 sheets, then quits The gears in the new carriage are crap and have too much play. I disassembled both carriages and put the new rollers and shafts in the old carriage with the old gear train. When the adf pics then waits, it rolls back and takes tension off the gears and thus the paper. However with the sloppy gear train it doesn’t engage the front roller because the gear isn’t meshed. You can watch it if you shine a flash light in there while it’s trying to pick the paper.

⚠️ This is WRONG. There is a very small plastic pin that will be broken off in the manner that you reassembled the ADF roller. The result will be a difficulty in picking up pages.
All you had to do in lift the assembly out. It takes two seconds and without tools.
My printer is saying Tray 1 jammed. There is nothing in it and I can even print from Tray 1. When its closed its reporting the problem. I want to print from Tray 2. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a same printer and my screen is stuck on initializing and I have no clue what part controls that. Two parts have already been replaced.. but they wasn't the problem.🤷♀️

How do you remove the bottom assembly if the spring falls into it :P ,HP told me it doesn't come apart and it's not in the manual and sent me a whole new scanner instead.

Good video. I was wondering if you had any knowledge on the plastic sheet that goes on the bottom part of the document scanner/feeder. I removed this plastic sheet when it wrinkled, and it now jams and cannot auto scan without it
Sounds like the HP M477 ADF Mylar Strip. If it is we get allot of requests from people that remove it thinking its part of the packaging when new. We don’t have this piece and no one makes it yet.. Customer would need to buy a replacement flatbed scanner/adf assy to get it.

Try the following....
Driver is not installed.
Different printer is set as default printer.
Cable is bad or not connected.
Printer is offline (Needs to be in READY state).
