This is one of my HG foundations. Thank you for this review. This lasted 16 hours on my skin through some perspiration and did not fade. It definitely looked like skin and is a tad better than the Luminous Silk foundation.
I LOVE this foundation. I’m 66 and super duper oily. I apply with the Stansout sponge (which allows very thin layers) . I was getting creasing around the mouth corners and none of my high end primers helped. Lo and behold my Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer stopped the issue. I follow with the Skindinavia oil control and it pretty much doesn’t transfer under a mask.
I actually observed the same thing with the Dior backstage . It doesn’t transfer on the mask, you are right! It’s been my go to foundation during this pandemic. I love it!
This is my favorite foundation of all times, I usually apply it with finger and then just buff out the edges with the brush, I’ve found this way gives the most natural look to the skin 😄
I do agree foundations do apply and look better or worse depending upon what kind of a tool or fingers. You have some of the most glamorous eye looks I have ever seen!!!!
I just purchased this foundation over the weekend! I’ve only used it a few times but really like it so far. I had better luck with it when I used with a primer and (surprisingly) when I applied with a dry sponge! I have normal/dry skin. Great video!
I have this foundation in 3 WO and 4 WO to mix depending on time of year. I really like it for a nice medium coverage. My skin tends to be more dry. I believe I have used both a brush and beauty blender to apply it. I have an event this weekend and was considering picking up bare minerals original foundation as I’ll be outside in high heat and humidity but I think I may just give this a try and save some money.
Great video Lisa! I'm extremely oily for over 50yrs here in Chicago. I love this foundation however my oil still comes through. I typically need to blot only once...which is great! Never tried the Mac option. Thanks again.
I just picked this up. I use your BK Beauty 101 brush. I absolutely LOVE this foundation!! I didn't wear my foundation at all last school year because of not wanting it to transfer on my mask. I will be using this with my mask when school starts next month.
I love this foundation with the Primer in the same line and the Dior Backstage glow Omgggggg these 3 combinations is amazing I have very oily skin in the summer.
Thank you so much for your test wear. I am very impressed with this foundation! I have not tried it yet and since it's good for combo/oily skin I hope to try it when I get a chance to. Appreciate your thoughts on this! Have a lovely day!
I 💜💜💜💜💜💜 Dior Backstage! It is my everyday favourite foundation and I like it way more that Mac Face and body. I typically use my fingers to apply and will use a sponge to buff out the edges. If I use a glowy primer then I get more of a radiant finish.
I’ve been using this foundation for some time now. I have applied it every way it can be applied. I would rather use a brush but I think it actually applies better with a sponge. I started with a 1N and thought it was a touch light so I went to the 1.5N. I love it and it looks better as the day goes on.
This is my go-to everyday foundation. I have dry skin and apply over primer with my fingers - gives a better than skin like cover that stays all day. I don’t usually have time to touch up ( healthcare professional), so I need my makeup to be done for the day and this really fits the bill!! 😄💕
Hi Kara , I usually use lancome long time no shine or By Terry hyaluronic powder on nose area and forehead to set it - definitely helps to make it last all day 😄
I’ve been interested in this foundation but have dry skin, you said this may not be for my skin type so it looks like I may be skipping it. Thanks for your review, Lisa! Blessings! 🌻
Carla Cox I have dry skin and I use this one, it’s perfect for me. You need to exfoliate of course, but I haven’t seen it cling to any dry patches, like the it cc cream does
Andrea R Thank you for the reply! I’ve heard from a couple of other TH-camrs that this was ok for dry skin so I was really interested in it. I may go ahead & give it a try. I appreciate your input! ☺️
@@carlacox2155 ,Hope you will post back on how this DIOR FAB worked for you (cause I have normal to dry skin, yet would also liked to try it), and also, about shades? Does it seem that they run dark to you? Lisa usually wears a medium shade in every foundation, rather than a shade in the lightest row. Just wondering if they have an abbreviated range in the lighter shades?
Kara Ley Michele recommended that I skip it, since she found it to be drying and I already have dry skin. So I’m afraid I can’t help you with the Dior Backstage foundation. I do have the Backstage Rosewood eyeshadow palette and it’s great! Blessings! 🌻
Aw I’m glad that you will try using this foundation again and apply with your fingers! I was excited to read your response to my suggestion but probably others suggested it too. And you also mentioned in your video! Thanks for responding and listening to your subscribers!❤️
Thank you for your thorough review Lisa. I love this foundation and my skin is normal with some dry spots. It has great wear time and goes on smooth and even. Looks beautiful and radiant on you! Your eyes look stunning too...Soft Glam is one of my favorite palettes 🥰
I love this foundation it's my go to when I know I'm going to be hot and sweaty because it doesn't move or its great to mix into a thick fuller coverage to make it more skin like.
I have this makeup and I love it because it doesn’t transfer onto my mask. I have applied it with a slightly damp sponge and it worked great. I think I will try fingers and see if it has a different application that works. I have the Mac face & body but I find it very hard to apply. It has to be applied with fingers as they warm it up before you rub into face. Since you were a Mac rep if you know any tricks about it I would love to know as I do want to use it up. Thanks 🙏
I seriously just tried this for the first time today. So far so good for me. I am also trying the CT setting spray and that probably helps too. So excited for your review.
I think it looked gorgeous on you! I can’t wait to try it, it’s in my Sephora loves for when I feel like making the splurge! A little worried about the scent😕 Thanks for the review!🥰
I love this foundation; prefer it to the Dior Forever Matte. You probably should have gone with 2N or 2.5N. I find the fragrance exactly like all Dior fragrances. It wears extremely well, and I have oily skin and live in hot, humid Florida.
I love that foundation. I will be repurchasing it for sure. I use my fingers and use less than you used and have never had a problem with settling or creasing. I am never really happy with how it looks when I build it up. I also use a damp blender to pick up any extra and really blend it out. I Just tried the Mac one as a replacement once my Dior was gone and I much prefer the Dior and the Mac one is so greasy looking and offers much less coverage. Just my opinion and the Mac one ends up all over my mask.
Thank you for the great review. This one has been on my radar for a while. After watching, I'm pretty sure I'll pick it up! Also, my BK Beauty brushes will be arriving today. Soooo excited!! Thanks Lisa💗
I love this foundation it's my favorite!! I usually only use one coat but I like a natural application and I use a brush then tap over with a sponge. Anyone who's thinking about this one should really get it because it's beautiful!! Lisa I've been wanting to get the Dior Forever Skin Glow have you tried it and is it as good as Backstage?
I like the Dior Backstage better than MAC Face & Body. I have dry/dehydrated skin. I like it best applied with a beauty blender; I was surprised that I prefer the sponge with how thin the foundation is. I'm going to reorder but I'm looking for a better color match. I color matched to 3 warm peach but it's to dark on me, even for summer.. Thanks for the great videos.
definitely my favorite! It would work better with dior backstage primer as well, other primers didn't work well with this foundation (I've tried hourglass, tatcha silk canvas, tarte primer something, and j.one primer from s. korea). My only complain is the foundation will accentuate the tear lines if we're crying!
Same issue it creases on my smile lines. Concentrating the Tatcha silk canvas primer on my smile lines resolves it for me including baking with too faced peach perfect powder.
Best for wearing mask foundation is for Estee lauder double wear Omgggggg it don't transfer. I have also Dior Backstage foundation but best is Estee lauder.
I'm looking forward to this. I've seen a lot of people asking about it including my best friend. I have washable masks, but between the heat and humidity, plus make-up, mine get washed a lot. Lol I've found setting my make-up helps but it's not foolproof. I'll have to show her this. As always, thanks so much for all your videos. You are truly a sweet person! ❤
I love this foundation. The range of colors is amazing, this first one that actually has a shade for me. For my 40+ skin it provides the perfect amount of coverage, doesn’t crease and is low maintenance. I hate that formulas marketed to mature skin are usually full coverage, like skin was something to hide. This is such a good product, best applied with your fingers
You always look like you already have a full face of makeup on! Updated am pm skincare routine please! I use a mac paint pot on my nose and lightly set with powder and foundation doesnt come off my nose. I always use the bk101 brush for foundation just had to wash it the other day it's so used. I love the multi tasking brush too for blush and bronzer it's my favorite. Love your brushes.
I want to try this foundation but everyone mentions the strong smell. I have fibromyalgia so strong scents can make me feel nauseous at times. It looks beautiful on you!
the best way to apply this s: for the first layer apply it with your fingers. Then if you need to build it up you can use a brush. Tjis is my favorite foundation. I also got the MAC one but i prefer the dior one.
I apply the first layer with my fingers. If I need more, I use a brush. It does oxidize a little. I chose 0-N based on reviews mentioning oxidation. It's perfect. I prefer Dior Backstage to MAC. By a healthy margin!
So did the 0N shafe work out for you ? Are you truly neutral or were you just attempting to ward off any extreme in shades by choosing the neutral? I want this very much but can't go in the store, so must order online, so need help on shades. I'm very light almost 2 shades lighter than Lisa.
@@nosleep7357 I am definitely neutral, leaning a little more to the pink than the yellow, if anything. 0-N works fine. By the description, I would have chosen 1-N. But after reading that the foundation darkened, I went with 0-N. I'm glad I did. You can see, I think, how fair I am in my photo. Something to note, also, is that the lightest shade of the Dior Forever Skin Correct concealer 0-N isn't light enough for brightening, if you're very fair. They need a lighter shade in their range! I hope this helps.
Very pretty. I need a good foundation for dry mature skin. Any thoughts. I am new to make up. I am trying to be a part of the crowd. Lol. I know you are a busy woman but I trust your thoughts. Can you give me ideas on like a starter set of brushes. Like maybe 5 or 6 you would start with. Like face/eyes. Thank you for your time. I really love your channel. No fussing. Lol ❤️❤️
I love this foundation, but I haven’t got the color matched correctly yet. Started with a sample of 2N which was too dark and yellow, so purchased 1C which is too rosy and maybe still a little too dark. Regardless, it’s a pretty goof-proof foundation even if the color isn’t exactly right, though I do feel like fingers give the best application, I’m not sure why. I got a good high coverage result by painting it on with a flat brush and then patting my face afterwards with my fingers/hands to “blend”. This foundation just needs hands to be a part of the application it seems. Most days I just slap on a thin layer as if it’s a moisturizer. I love how it dries down and sets and doesn’t transfer to my sunglasses, fingers or phone and that a random strand of hair doesn’t stick to my face ever. And that it feels like nothing. Now if I could only just get the perfect color.
I work in the operating room so I wear a mask everyday. I just discovered and purchased mac face and body and mix it with my bare minerals and apply with a sponge and have been loving it.
@@KaraLey98 no powder. Complexion Rescue is the Bare Minerals i mix Mac face and Body with. I put them on the back of my hand spray my beauty blender with Mac fix plus then swirl it together and apply. I love the light weight slightly dewy look. The only area I put translucent powder is where I apply my blush because it is a cream blush and it holds it in place with a spritz of algenist setting spray
@@surgicaltechcrafter2169 , thank you for clarifying. Yes, I hoped you meant a liquid formula. I have a lot of Complexion Rescue shades because I love that formula, and wanted it in different tints. It's so nice that one can wear several different tones, & still it looks nice and natural. Interesting to find out how you combined it👌
@@surgicaltechcrafter2169 ,You know Shelbey has a good video about how she combined it with a CTilbury formula. Don't remember the name of it but it's a unisex tint which gives skin a sun-warmed appearance. You have probably seen it.
Hi Lisa! I just want to say that every time I watch your videos and you start with a clean face and zero makeup, your skin is gorgeous and smooth and glowing.🥰 Your natural complexion is beautiful without foundation. Have you tried only applying blush and bronzer?😉
Love MAC, as it looks so natural, I have two different shades of it plus the white mixing medium so I can turn it any shade I need, depending on my skin &time of year.
This has been my favorite foundation since it came out! Does great on my severely oily skin! I apply it with my fingers and them smooth it out with my Tati blendiful.
Hi Lisa, this question isn't about this particular video. I want to know if you use tretinoin, and if not, then why? If not tretinoin, then do you use a retinol?
This is one of my HG foundations. Thank you for this review. This lasted 16 hours on my skin through some perspiration and did not fade. It definitely looked like skin and is a tad better than the Luminous Silk foundation.

Beth Maciaszek, which Bare Minerals formula do you mix it with? Or do you mean the powder and so how does that work?
@@KaraLey98 thank you. I will check it out
Hi Lisa! I just want to say that every time I watch your videos and you start with a clean face and zero makeup, your skin is gorgeous and smooth and glowing.🥰 Your natural complexion is beautiful without foundation. Have you tried only applying blush and bronzer?😉
Your skin looks beautiful without it xx
Cute mask. Did you make it? Great video as always!
i can’t use bc of fragrance 🥺 lisa marie just posted a comparison with face and body!
I think 2N would have been perfect . Love this foundation
MAC F&B and Dior are my favorites. MAC has a more dewy finish and Dior slightly more matte. Both tend to work best with fingers
Love MAC, as it looks so natural, I have two different shades of it plus the white mixing medium so I can turn it any shade I need, depending on my skin &time of year.
Hey Lisa, I know you have lash extensions however do you still tightline or wear eyeliner on top? Your lash line looks dark and full, LOVE IT! 😍
thanks for vid pretty lady. be safe
Loved watching Ozark! I can’t wait until the next season. The ending is a doozy! 😉
This has been my favorite foundation since it came out! Does great on my severely oily skin! I apply it with my fingers and them smooth it out with my Tati blendiful.
Throw that Tati product away! Don't support problematic influencers!!!!
Did you purchase the mask somewhere? Or a homemade one?
Hi Lisa, this question isn't about this particular video. I want to know if you use tretinoin, and if not, then why? If not tretinoin, then do you use a retinol?
Which Dior foundation is your favorite? This, air flash or forever 24 hour?
