This is the content that's needed. No BS, straight knowledge, bend the rules if you want, but here's the risks. Love it. I have been a cognito customer since 07, and will continue to buy your products with people like this behind them.
You have to cut the service perch/bump stop with this kit. That’s because it has the flat upper control arms. Cognito also makes a tubular upper control arm that doesn’t look as nice but also doesn’t require you to cut up the truck. This way you can go back to stock if you wanted without having to weld parts back on.
Had a 96 two door tahoe 2003 surbuban and a 2004 all lifted and Cognito with fox is the Only Way to go ! Just got a 22 Silverado HD 2500 and it will eventually get the same thing
I picked up the Cognito pitman/idler braces for my OBS c1500 on a 2.5” lift, and I LOVE them. I couldn’t be more happier with the stability and driveability.
Being honest here... all that for 2 3/4" lift and ride quality? If you didn't get the Z71 shock package... I might see this. But for larger aftermarket tires I don't see it. I have a 22 LTZ and for 35's on 20 factory rims with zero issues.
@michusb930 from what I've read I think the 12.5's might rub the control arm if you keep the factory offset. 295's are probably the course to go which gets you a taller tire than the 35x12.5
The same sag on what you normally tow will happen since the rear has not been changed. The only way to keep the rear from squating if it does when towing is airbags, or adding a leaf spring.
If you change the upper control arm to correct the ball joint angle, why wouldn’t you also replace the lower control alarm to correct the ball joint angle?
Just had my truck done, same truck as this one. RL 3.5 something is definitely wrong with mine in the front, this has to be the reason. (Droope Travel to much) Think the shock is over extended and causing it to be harsh. Really bad towing also. Wish I had this level 😪
Did you ever get yours worked out? I’m dealing with the exact same issue now. I have the Fox 2.0 Resi’s and the overextending actually blew them out. Did you also have an issue with the top of your UCA’s making contact with the frame mounts?
This looks a lot better than your older kit. Older kit sucks and impossible to find replacement shock information. Basically need to buy a new lift to replace the shocks
How can you preach stock droop but at the same time cut off and trim off the service perch… that means the truck is no longer stock droop, when you’re having to trim off almost 3 inches of service perch
I love this look. I just want to clarify, at the end of the video with the wheels and tires, you said at one point the tire was a 285 but then at the end of the video you said it was a 35, I love the way that set looks so I just want to double check, is it a 285 or is it a 35 tire? Great video, thank you!
Go with a 35 or even 37. Stock tire size is 34.1. when i brought my 3500hd home i rolled a mounted 35 inch tire up to my stock tire and i was blown away at the fact there was basically no difference in height. I am waiting on a 7 inch kit but i am running 37x12.50 with no leveling kit, just turned up torsion keys. so 37s will fit on this kit. if you have to trim itll be super minor.
@@rhysl4759 Thanks for this! I'm about to buy rims and tires for my 2021, and was considering a 315/70-R17. Coming from my stock 275/65-R20, calculations show it's almost identical circumference. This makes me think I can almost just fit 35's. Still can't stand they put 20 inch rims on my Z71 :D
@@noknownthrone2487 NP!! Im blown away at how good the wheel wells are on these trucks for fitment. Yesterday I installed 2 inch spacers on my truck. I had to remove the plastic mudflap and do some minor trimming to the valance. I just need to get my fender liner pulled back an inch and Ill have 0 rub on a leveled truck with 37s + spacers! Its insane.
Disappointed... The kit y’all made is for two wheel drive.... What’s the point in lifting a 2 wheel drive, getting bigger tires for ground clearance, then getting stuck because your, two, wheel, drive.

Did it create a harsher ride?
@@ginomarchetti5153 it’s actually smoother than I thought maybe due to the shocks. Angles aren’t he best tho not gonna lie

Love the video thank you for the info and explaining. Was hoping for you show or say the biggest tire you could run on the stock wheels.

I have a 21 LT with Z71 shock package, and I want to do leveling kit and run 35-12.50 R20's on my 20" stock wheels. Is this what you are running?
@michusb930 from what I've read I think the 12.5's might rub the control arm if you keep the factory offset. 295's are probably the course to go which gets you a taller tire than the 35x12.5
Is there anyway to tell if your kit has been installed properly after it’s been installed by the shop?
Can I run my factory wheels and tires with this leveling kit? 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500hd. 20×9 with 6.5 backspacing and a 275/65 r20 tire
I have 22” wheels with 35” tires on a stock 2021 Silverado. Came from the dealership like that. Something about this leveling stuff ain’t making sense
I want to do this exact thing to my 2020
Does it change towing on a 2500 HD?
Educate me. If you install a leveling kit, won't it cause major sag when towing??
The same sag on what you normally tow will happen since the rear has not been changed. The only way to keep the rear from squating if it does when towing is airbags, or adding a leaf spring.
I have a Silverado 2500 with the Z71 and rancho shocks already, will these fox shocks be better than the ranchos I have now for ride quality?
If you change the upper control arm to correct the ball joint angle, why wouldn’t you also replace the lower control alarm to correct the ball joint angle?
What about the lower ball joint do they need replaced
Thanks for explaining well
Did you lower the transfer case and cv axles?
With the 1500 the UCA keeps you safe. Cognito Factory rep statement.

What do you think about a 10” wide wheel with a 2” leveling kit?
See people on the forums and they just don't understand about correcting geometry
Can you guys do your econ 2" level on a 2500
Looks great!
Looks better with stock wheels if the kit will allow
Love it, is this Sarah price's truck. Looks just like it. Nice kit
Is there any to tell if your truck is set up properly after your kit has been installed at a shop?
Which shock pairs with this kit? The 1.5-2.5" lift shock or the 4-6" lift shock?
Have you heard of any complaints about vibration in 4WH at highway speeds due to the differential angle change?
This looks a lot better than your older kit. Older kit sucks and impossible to find replacement shock information. Basically need to buy a new lift to replace the shocks
Do you think 38x13.5's would fit? Would not go wider than a 10-inch wheel.
Man I wish yall could do my leveling kit
What’s the overall height of this truck when complete? Curious for car washes, garages, etc. Great video and measurements on everything else.
Thanks for you time
The droop travel should be limited by the stop or a strap. A shock isn't designed for that.
weird that it works fine on every single production vehicle. This isnt a trophy truck
Wonder if same wheels and tires fit on same truck stock?? These are exactly the same wheels and tires I want for my truck
I live in Bakersfield do u guys do customer installs? If not who do u recommend?
How is the ride quality after this lift
where can I get this done in Texas?
What if you have 2” of droop ? Or 4” of droop ?
So does this installation apply to a 2018 duramax ? As well or only 2020s and up
Whats the steering kit you mentioned and do you need it and why?
You could have gone bigger than a 285/75 wheel clearance was pretty significant...that 285 75 comes in at 33.9 inch
That tire is 34.8
Why do you think they always run +18 offset never 0
Do you guy offered lower control arms?
How tall is this truck with the level kit?
It’s called down travel not droop. But very good product.
Down travel is used by mouth breathers who dont know what they are talking about, everyone else says droop

So how much lift does the 4 inch lift really lift the front? If 3 inch lift levels it.
The 3” is the max you can go without a diff drop. So the 4” lift kit lifts it 4”, lol. The 3” lifts it 3”.
