Is the placement of the slap on the head closer to the rim like a djembe, or further in like a conga?
I'm in the process of making a 12" Mondo Snare Drum out of a 12" Remo tubano. What heads do you use on the snare side? Do these drums have any sort of snare bed on the bottom bearing edge? Thanks for all your insight and they Sound wonderful.
Have you considered putting a rim clicker like Russ Miller's groove wedge/ Gruv thingo on the side for a more defined rim click?
HiThe mondo head is too high for that device after you attach it to the tension rods.
@@rickdior understandable, I was wondering if the head was too high. Would be possible with modified mounting brackets though, right?
