How was the city of Vladikavkaz formed?  The city was founded in 1784 as a Russian fortress at the entrance to the Darial Gorge on the site of the Ingush village of Zaur.
I am Russian and have been living in this city for the last 13 years. I want to say that in this city there is NO STREET CRIME AT ALL. You can walk all night in any part of the city and it is absolutely safe.
I am an Indian and I am looking forward and planning for a road trip by road from India to Russia by shipping my car to Iran and then drive via Iran, Armenia, Giorgia and then enter Russia through Vladikavkaz city. I must say very beautiful city by looking at the video.
I am Georgian, my grandmother is from Tskhinvali, married in Georgia. But I've never been to this beautiful city unfortunately, when you showed us the shots of the mountains and saw how close we are to each other and zero contact and communication it's a really strange feeling. We were separated by politics and we know nothing about each other.

I liked the murals with verses of Ossetian poets on the walls of buildings in Vladikavkaz when I was there last year. People there don’t seem to be nationalistic, but merely proud of being Ossetians and living the way they live.
A checked your content, and I was glad to discover that you visited the same cities as me in 2021: Skopje, Vladikavkaz, Rostov on Don. I wonder, why the thought of visiting exactly those cities occurred to us, to people of different countries and mindsets?

@@Clesco711actually if you can visit Russia, you also can visit South Ossetia, we have a lot of social and economic agreements with each other. Btw, around 99% of South Ossetian have got a Russian citizenship, so with Russian Visa it's easy to go to South Ossetia

I left Russia somewhat 30 years ago but damn do i miss it...And my parents where building the gas pipeline in the 80 so as a kid i was in many of those remote locations you guys go to...Its an amazing experience to relive all that with your help

I'm an American and I flew into Tblisi to enter Russia through the Caucuses to do some "humanitarian "work to help my brothers and sisters in the Donbass. FSB detained me briefly they were very nice and professional and in no way did I not understand why they did their due diligence. My country is financing attacks on them. Fought countless battles for the US and not one since WW2 has been justified like Russia's is.

In 1992,up to 2000 the Russia and Chechnya got into a war. Vladikavcaz is in a few hours away from that republic of Chechnya. Chechens in retaliation carry on lots of terrorist acts in the neighboring cities. That's the reason for a warning.

Thanks to your trips, I bought volume 1 of "History of the Caucasus at the crossroads of empires". A very big and heavy book for the price with superb photography. It also does not take prisoners .. I had to read the introduction three times as there just too many Stans and cities ending with 'an'. . I had to download a detailed map. Excellent book .. for the patient reader. And Chechnya! Please prove the Western media wrong.

What the lady at the B&B hotel says explains the renovation of Shirley windmill I kept seeing reports on in the Croydon press when I lived there.

Thanks to your trips, I bought volume 1 of "History of the Caucasus at the crossroads of empires". A very big and heavy book for the price with superb photography. It also does not take prisoners .. I had to read the introduction three times as there just too many Stans and cities ending with 'an'. . I had to download a detailed map. Excellent book .. for the patient reader. And Chechnya! Please prove the Western media wrong.
Yes, it's an incredible book, Matt really enjoyed reading it too, he says it's one of his favourites 😊😘
