I have this lens and it is amazing! I got an earlier version which had the dust issue. Sent it for repair through Samy's Camera in Pasadena to Sigma in NY. They fixed it under warranty and I had it back in less than two weeks! I love the customer service at Samy's Pasadena and Sigma was incredibly efficient! I have since bought the Sigma 85mm DG DN f1.4 Art. I am now a huge fan of Sigma - not just for image quality, but for their service.
I stumbled upon this review. I can't believe that you've this less subscribers. 😑. All the best for the channel. Apart from the review. I really really really like the whole cinematic intro. 💛 You are one talented guy!
Thanks for a great review of a neat lens. However, I am quite happy with my Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens on my A7iii... The weight, size and price of the Tamron are great and I don't miss the extra 4mm on the short side one bit. In fact, I regularly use the Tamron on my A6600 for people shooting. The 42mm equivalent short side doesn't distort people while the 112.5mm equivalent long side is great.
I disagree with the focus speed. You used a crowded back ground for sigma and calm one for g master. The camera takes time to realize the changes. Try with the same back ground as g master and you'll see
@@KenseiAkatsu welcome! havent had drastic issues with it yet but there are complaints of it in the web. so i’m very conscious of the location im shooting. AVOID DUSTY AREAS!!!!!
When it comes to Sigma vs Tamron, it's not all about technical stuffs, because they both are very good. It's just whether you like it or not. I like Sigma's color and sharpness.
Hey Kensei, this is genuinely an in-depth review from your side on this great lens indeed. I would like to seek your guidance regarding opting for one best option out of 2:- Sony a7III with Sigma 24-70mm f 2.8 ART OR Canon eos R6 Mark ii with Sigma 24-70mm f 2.8 ART? Is there really a big difference in terms of output considering the price point since I do mostly still photography and that too occasionally when I am on weekends or on a holiday trip, Which model do you suggest basis my requirements. Do you think that canon with this lens may deliver that extra warmth and smoothness which you and I both are looking for?
Thanks for the comment! I've never used Canon eos r6 so I don't know what to say about that. What I can say is investing on sony e mount lenses is a better option in my opinion.
I am in the process of deciding whether I should do this lens for full frame Sony... looking for B-Roll and Short Film type of fun artistic stuff... is it enough, or do i need the primes in this range for real purpose (such as 24, 35, 50, etc)?
I'm planing to drop a short film shot by this lens on this Wednesday (JPN), so stay tuned for it. I believe that will give you some informations and inspirations!!
None of these sponsored TH-camrs are talking about how much dust this Sigma lens collects. I almost bought this lens, but then read some comments about the dust issue and Googled it. Do your research before buying guys!!
@@KenseiAkatsu how about stabilization,4k video quality and Auto focusing, can you do a detailed video on auto focusing nd its settings. It would be really helpfull your review has helped a lot thanq once again. ❤️🙌
Great review and well put together video. I have this lens now but thinking about returning it. I've only used to it once for event shoot in a semi dark theater . 2.8 I felt wasn't enough . For now it's my 24 GM 1.4 and other 1.8 primes I guess. Versatility of not switching lens is great. Tough decision. Subbed
How do you like that sharpness?
I like it a lot and that 2.8 is awesome to have
Yeah, it's good for go-to lens!
Too sharp, not good with the modern rendering. Sterile. Flattish. Which is not to my taste especially for people portraits
Do you have a TH-cam channel where you have created short entertainment videos....the quality of your video is really great...very creative!
Thank you, but this is it.
Surely the subscriber count can't be accurate. This guy should be well over 100k
Yeah, I think TH-cam just miscalculated?? haha
Forget the lens, lets talk about your b-roll - awesome work dude!
Thanks, it has huge portion of a whole video haha
Great video.....you should do short movies also.....you have talent!!
Thank you! I will.

I use it on an a7siii
I liked that you mentioned the "genre" this lens appeals to. Most other reviews don't mention how the sharpness can effect style.
Yeah, exactly. Every lens has a unique image which must be known.
Just slap a black pro mist filter on to reduce the sharpness
Very cool B Roll man! I tried to capture the awesomeness of the lens in my review too! Keep up the good work.

Yeah, Tamron is much lighter and easy to carry. It gives us great footages, but I just love Sigma's image ✌️
This lens is an absolute beast! Keep up the good work - New subscriber here :) 🔥🤙
Thanks, welcome to my channel my friend! Yes, I agree that. This lens is absolutely my favorite.
Not a fan of gimbles - How bad is the shot if handheld with IBIS on a Sony A7iii...Then letting FCP or Da Vinci do its magic in post ?

Oh Yeah!! Thanks, welcome to my channel!
Kensei Akatsu thanks! Can’t wait to start a channel!
It's lighter than the GM right? Overall better buy over the GM?
It's 50g lighter than GM. Considering a price, I think so.
Great review! I’m on the verge of purchasing this lens.
Cool!! Let me know if you got it!

Awesome video! Quick question: does this lens have bad distortion at 24mm? Looking at this lens for events. Thanks :)

Can you help me? Sigma 24-70mm F/2.8 Art on Sony have stabilizer on lens
It doesn't have it.
Whats the difference between the Sigma 24-70 and the Sigma 24-70 DG OS HSM Art? Am I missing something?
DG OS HSM Art is Canon EF mount, and DG DN Art is Sony e-mount.
I know it's complicated haha.
thank you for this! you're dope

Which is faster in focus speed Sigma 24 - 70mm vs Tamron 28 75 mm for video?
Sigma

if you dont like the sharpness just get a filter like the black mist from tiffen.

Underrated channel
That's what we get in the beginning.
Can it be lock in all 35,50,70? Thank you
no
is the autofocus silent in video mode? it doesn't click or anything?
Yes it is. No, there is no click sound in it.

We do. Osmosis is already going on.
Will you be reviewing the new Sigma 28-70mm?

I don't know if it's next, but very soon.
Sigma 24-70 f2.8 or the Sony 24-105 f4?
I'll choose Sigma2470 because of sharpness and F2.8

From Peter Mckinnon.

Relatively yes.
nice vintage look nto your videos!
