Lots of Red light and speeding cameras, probably the city with most of those cameras in the world. Summertime it gets dark around 10.30 to 11pm. But besides the negativity there are festivals happening and other events.
No Canadian city is safe, compared by European or Asian standards, could seem safe for those living in the US, Mexico, South America, the Middle East, etc. Edmonton is definitely not the safest place in Canada.
