I heard this when it was first broadcast on Rock 100 KATT in Oklahoma City. I could have sworn it was 1987 when this particular show aired. Love this version of the song, actually came looking for it, and this is why the internet rocks.
Was there ever anybody that got more out of their talent than the Money 💰 Man; his musical contribution is severely underrated. Not to mention he was a great person.
Simply spectacular. So much better than the studio version. The acoustic instruments let the beauty of the song and his singing shine through. Right from the get go, the first three chords of the verses ("I.... was listening to the radio...") where it opens on the Gm and transitions down to Eb, is a very emotional sounding sequence, and it has so much more power played like this.
