The ECHR is *not* a foreign court. Foreign means it belongs to another country. It does not. The ECHR is an *international* court and it belongs to all the countries that have signed up to it, including the UK. As a former barrister Cruella really ought to know that and she really ought to stop lying 🙄
being a barrister is no gurantee of actually knowing how the law or the legal system works. Her skills were actually employed in licencing cases

Cruella as usual is talking nonsense, the ECHR stopped the particular flight. The UK courts could have overridden the ECHR ruling but in fact the UK Supreme court found that the policy contravened UK Human Rights Act.
She only got her KC, as a "courtesy", on being made Attorney General. 😶😐😳

But there was no issue with small boat crossings at the time of the referendum. The boats only started when we had our hard Tory Brexit, that many had not voted for.

Braverman reckons Strasbourg is a long way away. Typically London-centric Tory. The distance is roughly the same as London to Aberdeen at roughly 400 miles. There's still another 250 miles plus to go to get to Haroldswick in Shetland and even then you've got a bit to go before you run out of the UK. As usual, she doesn't have a clue!

She’s trying to blame the European Convention on Human Rights, an initiative set up after the Second World War and monitored by the court of the Council of Europe. It was intended to stop anything like the Holocaust happening again and was strongly supported by Winston Churchill. The court has British judges and is an international court, not a foreign court. The cover-up of the Hillsborough was revealed not by the English courts but by ECHR.
At no time did Braverman blame the EU. She was referring to the ECHR, the court sits in Strasbourg and is a seperate entity. It was Labours 1998 Human rights Act under Blair that effectively incorporated the ECHR into UK domestic law.

She seriously demands an American system were there is no will to accept the international court in the Hague with the freedom to do as pleased. The world couldn't care a flying F&CK about British national laws. But when a nation wishes to create laws that affect international norms and values, the world will interfere. As they agreed!
And did she also tried to downgrade the international court as not being part of the United Nations? The members of the court are chosen by the General Assembly of the United Nations. It is there to adjudicate general disputes between countries.

Talking about things that go way beyond their original remit, the Scotland Act now states that powers reserved to Westminster include TIME and OUTER SPACE. I don't know how they plan to control outer space when they don't have any means of getting there, which means this lot have as much chance of controlling our borders as they have of controlling outer space. I don't know what they plan to do with TIME. I suppose in the same way that they declared Rwanda safe, they could declare something ridiculous like one second is actually one hour long.
