I experience this also especially with my maintenance clients. I have to figure how to approach the subject properly. How do I explain simply if it's extra dirty such as sand from the beach, lots of dog hair or road trip bugs and road food spills..it takes more time and time is money.
I agree with you when I first started i took everything for a basic price now my bro I charge for everything , only my weekly customers get the special treatment everyone else they are paying . I do small things for some clients that I don’t charge for but it’s things that will take me 10 minutes to do and most of the time after that they book something at least in my case and I agree with you I still have cause from the first day that I started with my old prices that i won’t ever change it for them because they gave me the chance when I first opened up
What about a Pre-walk around? No one ever talks about if they do or how they do it and what theyre looking for and potentially documenting and/or pointing out to the customer.
