This business has become very competitive in the past 3-4 years I remember in my city there were only a few known detailers now there's about 100 detailers
And sometimes you should market in smaller areas where detailers don't go as much, then provide a greater service to them so when they make a review or become a maintenance customer others may start wanting you instead of the city dwellers. I did this myself and I'm far more successful than the detailers in the city.

Great advice, any chance you could go over what chemicals you use and what the cost is per detail for your business? Looking to start my own business and have a chemical line in mind but curios about cost per car, or rough estimate of how long chemicals will last compared to cost.
I think the hourly rate is determined by how fast you or (how many employees) can finish the same service as a single detailer. A single detailer may take up to 4 hours on this same package for the same price, as opposed to 2 detailers doing it in 2 hours. 1 detailer same pay, lower hourly rate, detailer with employee same pay, higher hourly rate in haldf the time but has to pay employee. The hourly rate will vary also depending of level of skill required like color sanding and polishing.
Whenever you feel comfortable doing so, maybe after trying it out on your own vehicle and getting used to it. I have a video on how to wax your video if you’d like to check it out! Hope that helps :)

hi, great video. I had a question about that cordless polisher you used on the Cadillac? what brand was that. that would be great for quick finishing sealant or wax I think. thanks and keep it up!
Jason, yes! It’s a great machine for applying wax, we actually use it only for those purposes - to apply a wax or a sealant onto a vehicle - it’s called the ProElite 12V Lithium Car Polisher.
I have a question, I wanna start detailing but I’m not sure how to start because I can buy all the equipment and I have a vehicle but I’m not sure how I would get the water going? Do I have to carry my own tank or ask customer or how?
Hey there! If you are just starting it is completely fine to start with what you can/have. In this scenario, you’ll more than likely just have to use the customers water supply- Simply mention that you will only need to hookup to their water spigot when you promote your business/ services! Feel free to check out one of my other videos where I show you everything you need to start for only $500. Thanks!

Is it NECESSARY? Definitely not. Does it open up the door for more business? I’d say so. In my opinion you don’t necessarily need a water tank or a generator, unless.. you plan on expanding or growing your business in the long run. As mentioned before, just make sure you advertise your service appropriately- state in your ads that you will need to have access to the customers water and power supply or simply communicate with your customer before hand and set the expectation of how things will be done. On your end be sure to have enough hose length and extension cords! Hope that helps :)

@@luisbedolla144 google mobile detailers in your are. Google detail shops in your area. Call dealerships in your area and see how much they charge. Charge that much. If you charge dramatically cheaper you will be doing cars that take 9 hours to do the interior, get customers who hit you with “can i get a discount, i can keep you busy i have a lot of friends i can send your way” toughing it out and getting 3-5 premium price cars a week will make you more than doing 2-3 cars a day with cheap customers who dont even detail. My first ever customer was $650 for an exterior detail with a 6 month ceramic sealant spray. Took me about 5 hours. Got a $150 tip. Only time i give discounts is if im already at a location and have time before the next customer. Maybe like 10-15% depending on the condition. I can tell you that 100% of the times ive given that discount to someone who asked for it they have not given a tip. Vs the times i have used the 10% off to UPSELL a service to a customer i can pick up while on location. They will tip more than 10% discount and ends up being full price plus a little extra at the end of the service. But thats when I am the one who offers it based on how fast i think i can get it done and using the customer service to get paid more. Selling a full price $250detail is less than upselling a quick 1 step(if i see the exterior can benefit from it) or upselling interior uv protection and leather conditioning bringing the total to $300-400. Getting $270-$360 plus tip for offering the 10% off is more money than $250. Again. Cutting someone a “$50 off and ill book all my other cars with you” means you only made $200 + $0 tip on location vs $360 +$50 tip=$410. Would you rather make an extra $410 with a customer who you find that values their car and will book with you and reffer you to high end customers. Or would you rather give away a detail and only make $200, never hear from the price shopper customer again and get 0 quality leads or refferals. Taking the $200 here and now with 0 future potentials is the business killer. Only offering discounts as customer service upsells is the business grower that has you end up with getting referred to business owners with clean fleet vehicles they need maintained at full price, boats, rvs, and refferal to their own close business connections. The cost of you not doing your own market research to build your own detailing business is that people like me will scoop up your kranzle pressure washer or your near repo cargo van on facebook marketplace for pennies on the dollar. High end detailing equipment is always sold out and easy to find for nearly free online from people who financed a business they had no clue how to run.
i currently work for a detailing company , and i one onw and operate my own detqiling business thank ofr the info im sstill fesh in the4 game but this will; help with my road down entrepreneur
You're awesome for your age! Congratulations. One thing I would suggest that greatly helps with people answering your phone calls is to call your cellular provider and ask them to add your business name to your cellphone number through Caller ID. If the person does not have your number saved in contact, then it will still show your business name in the Caller ID.
Looking good! Where did you get your van ? Been looking for one specifically a Chevy heard good things about them, nice to see you got it wrapped and ready to roll already
Quick question about Zelle: I thought that it wasn’t supposed to be used for business. Have you ever had them freeze your bank account for using it for business purposes?
WebMB, that would be the first time I’ve heard of that! Zelle is completely fine for business use. I have a business account, so maybe you mean using Zelle through a personal account? Hope that helps.
Syrenity, we typically ask for payment once we are done with the detail, we like the customer to look at the vehicle to make sure everything looks good and from there they can comfortably pay!

Terrance, anything is possible if you put your mind to it, stay motivated 💪🏻
Great video so you ever notice in Florida heat that the water leaves water spots? Or do you guys dry right after washing?
Yes Eddie, whenever the heat is intense you want to speed up the process when it comes to washing/drying.
What basically do you do wipe down interior ? Some car are dirty but what do you clean ( basic interior )
love the video, how come the first two where the same price if you did a clay bar and ceramic coating for the second car?
What is that brush you’re using on the carpet to put the lines in it?
Good shit man
Thanks Angel!
Awesome, thanks a lot for the tip Ryan! 👍🏻
Hey brother much blessings to you guys do you guys have a water system in the van
Hey Terrence, likewise! Yes we actually carry a 100gal tank in our van. 👍🏻

@@detailingbeyondlimits Oh actually didn't know that but thanks bro
That tool belt must speed things up I know it's husky brand but I can't seem to find one that looks the same what is it called ?
Yes, it’s a simple husky tool belt! Not exactly sure what it is called, but i did find it at Home Depot, hope that helps!
@@detailingbeyondlimits thanks bro
Should I charge the customer before the job or after?
Syrenity, we typically ask for payment once we are done with the detail, we like the customer to look at the vehicle to make sure everything looks good and from there they can comfortably pay!
Dang I wish cars were that clean around here and charge that price 😅
Lexus, trust me, anything is possible!
@@detailingbeyondlimits what u mean
@@Mr.grubby you are able to do the same.
