If we completely ignore the mother aspect there are woman who are teachers, military personnel, nuns, athletes, nurses, scientists, etc.

Just because men CAN father children into old age doesn't mean they SHOULD. Sperms deteriorate with age, and the likelihood of fathering a defective child increases exponentially. Also pregnancy and childbirth take a LOT of energy; MUCH MORE energy than manufacturing sperm, so it's logical that a woman's body would have to "shut down the baby factory" at a certain point.

I don't believe there is a person who really believes people should be unemotional. The key issue is regulating emotions, that is where all the problems lay. Some people learnt to do it, some did not. Look at kids, they aren't very skillfull in regulating themselves, as they didn't have much time to develop, but as time goes on, their parents should be guiding them into being able to do that. If somebody's over 20, there isn't an excuse as to why they should be reacting like kids.

What I'm referring to is kind of hard to explain, in England we call it "the stiff upper lip" the idea that any public display of emotion, either positive or negative is unsightly. Although quite a dated concept its still pretty pervasive. These are the people i find tedious and dull. Like most things there's a healthy middleground where people can express themselves without either throwing an adult temper tantrum, or coming across as someone with the same emotional depth as a piece of cardboard, like a bit of extra spice on a well rounded meal.

Romanticizing mother/parenthood isn’t helping anyone- in fact, it does the opposite. We tell women and girls how joyful it is to be a mom, and they become depressed when faced with the reality.
We need to have more honest conversations surrounding this topic.
It can be difficult to talk about because by extension, so many women can't talk about the difficulties without them perceiving it as a failure on their part. A mother in my life right now is putting way too much energy into areas where the kid would probably be better left to adjust on their own, it's impacting the mom's sleep which trickles down to everything else. But if I even begin to breach the subject of how hard it is on her I get "motherhood is a joy! I enjoy this time so much!" and know not to push too much further. It's also impolite to give parents unsolicited advice, so that doesn't help 🤷♀️ I hope people have better avenues for talking about parenting and pregnancy in the future, the good and the bad. Maybe it's too difficult a subject to separate from emotionally, idk
