    I have the 2019 rally, 5 yrs now and 24000 miles on it…. Loads of customizing and lots of off-roading in the country, and with saddle bags on it everything is waterproof….. lots of highway riding and loving every bit of it…. I am fully disabled and this bike is perfect for my lifestyle even though I am no longer on 2 wheels…

    I am a BRP certified 3WMC trainer and taught Spyder riding for years. I tried some of the first Rykers when they cam out. For me, coming from a motorcycle background, I much preferred the Ryker. I love the instantly adjustable foot rests and handle bars as I may not always ride in the same position. I like the CVT transmission and the power transfer to the real wheel. On a Spyder, if your battery goes dead when the parking brake is on, you are frozen there until you get a jump. On the Ryker, the parking brake is manual so if you don't have battery power, you can push it out of the way if you need to. The Spyder is nice for two up long distance touring. With the Ryker, I feel more in touch with the road and have the sense of really riding the vehicle.

    Hi, I’ve got a 2019 rally and I just absolutely love it. I had to do a few conversions on it because I lost my leg in a workplace accident above the knee but once you get the idea that they not a motorbike or a three wheeler you will really enjoy it. I got plenty get up and go and the biggest problem is like you said most of the people I do a review on a motorbike riders and they think they’re gonna ride it like a motorbike. I’ve been riding motorbikes since I was nine years old and I’m 64 years old now once again, I absolutely love my rally

    Very nice reviews. The ride/road feel is rough on the standard models. Your hands will get tired/numb. My advice would be to go with the rally. It has the upgraded shocks. I would also recommend to add a set of foam grip slide-ons and baja rons sway bar and links for a smoother ride. Upgrading the shocks on the standard model, like Elkas, is expensive but worth it.

    That really looks fun! The twin front wheels give the stability, and it looks as though it's balanced like a mid-engine sports car... the engine weight is well back, but I guess also good balanced grip.

    Very informative video. I'm picking up a new Ryker Rally for my wife's birthday on December 18th. She's a beginner, so I figured it's the best route to go. You forgot to mention that the Ryker Rally also has ABS and stability control. Don't ask me how stability control works on it, but I assume it's probably operates the same on an automobile, utilizing the ABS system.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! ABS and stability control are standard. The stability control can brake individual wheels to help the rider keep all three wheels on the ground and in control. No electronic system can make up for certain rider errors, but in emergency manoeuvres or sport riding, they can definitely help keep things in line.

    Nice Can Am review, thanks. I wave to these while riding my motocycle and see them often. What's the fuel range on a vehicle like this I wonder from a full tank to near empty? Are the tires easy to change? I change my own tires on my bikes.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll have to look into some of those things. I know the wheels don't have traditional lug nuts, so I know they're different, but I wouldn't think they're difficult to remove.

      @@BlackArroToons Range I'd very difficult to be consistent with over the variety of vehicles that I review. It can vary on riding styles, rider weight etc. The best thing to do for some of these vehicles is to find online owner's forums or Facebook pages to see the range that real world users are getting. That will give you a more accurate picture than my math or guesstimates.

    Nice video Peter.
    Front storage - known as the "frunk" ("front trunk", in the Spyder/Ryker community. It is 7L. For info, the Spyder RT Limited has 177 L! storage).
    Foot pegs - lift them up & you can move them forward and aft to suit your height. The brake pedal on the right moves with the pegs.
    Handlebars - adjust forward and back also.
    Fuel Tank Location - slide the cover just below the dash on the top of the tank, rearward, and you will see the filler cap (20L capacity).
    Transmission: CVT
    I do not know about New Brunswick (used to live there), but in Ontario, you do NOT need a 2 wheeled motorcycle licence to ride it - you can get a 3-wheeled Spyder/Ryker licence to ride it, if you do not want to get a 2-wheeled motorcycle licence.
    You can get your Spyder/Ryker-specific licence, by taking a one day on the lot course (in addition to the 1 x 3 hour lecture in class) - you get an M2M licence at at the end of the on the lot training day if you pass the test (does not allow you to ride 2-wheeled motorcycles). In Ontario, if you already have your 2-wheeled motorcycle licence, you do not need to get a Spyder/Ryker licence, you are all set (however it is recommended to take the 1 day course anyhow). Nice video as always.

    Any chance you do a review like this of the spider F3? Also, does the Ryker feel pretty low to the ground? That turns me off because it looks very low and condensed, almost like a kids version. I’ve never ridden a Ryker though, just being a little prejudice, I admit that.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll definitely review every road going BRP product that I can. I expect to cover the full line, including riding reviews.
      So the Ryker does feel a little lower to the ground, but more like a cruiser motorcycle than a kid's toy. It's hard to describe because it also gives me sports car vibes. It feels athletic, not toy like. It's probably something you should try to sit on and see for yourself. I think if you had it out on the road, you'd probably feel different about it. The sightlines in a dealership are going to feel different than outdoors where you have familiar reference points.

      @@PeterLoweOne Great point, thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing the F3 review. I'm starting my research with plans on buying one in the Spring, so I want to be able to buy with my head instead of my eyes. The 2023 Rally comes with these rims. The 2024 Rally comes with these rims in a more grey/gunmetal colour. There are other rims available as accessories both from Can-Am and from aftermarket suppliers.

    If there were ever a “motorcycle” that should have an electric version, this is it.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree. Can Am has announced electric motorcycles, which I'll be reviewing here. There was a rumour of a hybrid Spyder in the past. I think we'll see these in an electric version at some point. With fast charging capability, these would still be capable tourers. The issue I see is that there isn't a lot of space for very large batteries, so these could get quite heavy, and the design may need to change with current battery technologies.

    im almost 60 and have been riding bikes basically almost my whole life,due to my work history i suffer from carpel tunnel and tendonitis in my hands and forearms, aka i can ride a sport bike for 20 minutes before my hands go numb, upright naked about an hour 45. So im looking to switch to this style of ride as i hate cars/suv's/ute's due to the fact they literally put me to sleep....(so boring) i start nodding off 30 min into any trip. my question is, can you tweak the rally to be more sport as i would prefer a blend of features as new zealand roads really suck, i get hit with stones constantly and the lumps/bumps/potholes etc are murder on ones rear end.

      I don't mind the lack of brake lever, it would be nice if it had more frunk storage like the Spyder, but maybe we're getting greedy. These are super cool as is. I really like them.

    Sorry a Motorcycle license for Can Am Products is total bs, it’s a trike not a motor cycle! It doesn’t even operate like a motorcycle!
    It’s not two wheels, all the skill sets for a motorcycle is for nothing on one of these!
    This is total bs! Because the deals sell them, and only offer a 4 Jr intro class which doesn’t give you the The M1 endorsement for Trikes!
    I live San Diego, what they have available for training is insane! There isn’t any.
    My drivers lics on in San Diego, California so going to another state is totally useless.

      I wake up in the morning, review my notes, double check the research, drive to the store, double check the specifics with the experts at the store, take multiple takes to try to help viewers better understand these machines.
      Every day, I realize that there are things that I could have said to be more clear, shots I should have taken to show better information. Wording I could have changed to be more watchable.
      Then I take the footage and edit it together to place it on the internet where the world is not kind.
      I prepare for all kinds of abuse, and everyday I'm amazed at the kindness of my audience.
      *Then this guy can't handle that I wear the wrong brand of shoe.*
      What an amazing life you must live to have the luxury to be disgruntled by what a complete stranger puts on his feet.
      You need to close the laptop and get outside. Meet some people. Have healthy productive conversations, and re-examine what you can do to contribute to the world, because that comment....it's just not doing it!
