Thank you once again for your open and honest account. You've got so much strength of character, and you're inspiring so many. I'm up early on a Saturday morning. Dont want to waste the day. (Would of if i had been drinking alcohol) This feeling of waking up with no hangover is amazing! Sun is shining in Belfast!😎 I'm away at 10 am to meet a group of people I've never met before to go on a 2 hour bike ride. 😅 Trying to change my routine and meet new people without the focus on alcohol. Anyway, wish me luck. 😂 Have a lovely weekend Steve. Catch up soon. X❤

Hi Steven. First off thank you for ur story. It was very honest and what u went through must of been awful. So glad to see you made it through and doing well now. I have been on a road to recovery the past year and a half and there have sadly been many relapses along the way. Within 24 hours everything goes downhill for me when i pick up a drink. I am using the past knowledge of the relapses and what led to them to try and prevent them happening again. As well as: recovery meetings, regular excercise, healthy diet, work and studying. It can be alot sometimes but overall it is worth it and i look forward to watching more of ur videos and speaking soon. All the best.

Hi thanks so much for your support and comments….i like you had many relapses the worst in 2014 after I had been sober 8 years …by 2019 I was seriously ill …and my consultant said “ one more drink you will be dead in 6 months “…like you 1 drink then a day later back to square 1 …
Well done on a year & half that’s brilliant …keep it up …speak again soon 👍

I often wish I’d kept a warts and all video log type thing of the truth of being an alcoholic going through alcohol poisoning. 48 hours of puking bile 2-3 times an hour, ruptured larynx (twice) causing blood to be puked down my nose and mouth, covering the bathroom sink and mirror. You’d think that would scare the life out of anyone. It did, but it didn’t stop me drinking. So it happened again, unable to move out of my bed I filled Tesco bags with buckets of vomit bile and blood, eventually having to shit in the same bags from my bed. I was poisoned. Then somehow I ‘found my dose’ and could enjoy the Whisky without getting ill. A genuine functioning alcoholic.
I still am. Even if I’m not drinking.
True stories, I can’t say whether or not these ‘episodes’ will be repeated.
More truth about the most mocked disease.

I quit in December 2019 at 48 I do think if you can quit before 50 it’s a big plus going forward in your life , I drunk because of social anxiety I could drink casually at home but when I went out id binge and black out I knew I had to stop, well done on quitting just think of all the hassle you are avoiding being sober and healthy!
