That’s Charles Kelly running Saban’s pattern matching cover defense. Requires defenders to read the routes and change their coverage based on the route being run. There is actually a video of him talking about it when he was first introducing himself to the team.

People who dont live in Texas or the south in the summer do not appreciate the incredible conditioning needed to play 147 snaps in 100f+ heat. It is incredible that he did that just from a physical standpoint. Ive watched football 30 plus years and that was truly truly rare.

This comment is absurd. Hot in the north is in no way shape or form the same as hot in the deep south with 100% humidity. Not to mention that there is never a day in the summer in Colorado which bears any resemblance to a summer day in Texas. I've lived in the northeast, the northwest, and the deep south. The comment was that people who don't live in the south may not appreciate what that kid was able to do, and it's spot on.@@efg1311

Then he had the skill to roll to ensure he held on to the interception. We called it "shake it" coverage for man to man defensive adjustments. The rule is if your man breaks in or out within the first 5 yards from the line of scrimmage you pass them off to the next defender while reading the replacement route that is coming to you and you make a play on the ball. If the receiver doesn't until after the first 5 yards, then you stay with him. This is an adjustment against an offense that runs pick routes, especially at the goalline. Also, when taught well, the DBs and LBs can have the autonomy to make the adjustments on the field and call it themselves, too. And as everyone witnessed on Saturday, it is beautiful when executed.

I disagree with the take on the emotion after the win and getting the focus back for Nebraska. That win was an appetizer. And if you know Prime then you know he is obsessed with winning and doing what is necessary to win and doing that with preparation. He preaches practice like it’s a game. He has now installed that work ethic into those kids so don’t be shocked if they brake the scoreboard on Nebraska. They have a point to prove and they are only going to get more galvanized each week. I’m going Horn Jr break-out game … big time.

You evidently don’t know how Prime coaches! If you did you would know those guys are not hanging on to the last win… they are LOOKING TO the next game. That Saturday is gone, now This Saturday is on the way! Sko Buffs! I BELIEVE!

People are overrating TCU because of what they did last year. That's a 6 win team. Colorado is also a 6-7 win team, at best.
