SO FLIPPIN' TRUE. We're gonna do a theater play at school, and we've decided to do this. I'm the leader of our group, and i want us to win. I'm in charge of doing the scripts, choosing everyone's characters, Organizing the songs, and props. My group will be doing the steps and formations, and I've watched this movie for A LOT OF TIME now.
This, for real, NEVER GETS OLD!!! Same goosebumps in the same places Every Time. I can seriously watch this over and over again. Such a great musical. Honestly one of the greatest musicals of our time. It will go down in the pages of the ages.
Just a day after this movie got released in my country, I had to have a surgery. The biggest surgery I've had in my life so far. I went to see the movie first before getting admitted and I had to rest before the operation. Listened to the soundtracks of The Greatest Showman throughout my time there, and calmed me down right before they bring up to the OR. This movie and song will always have the memory it holds in my life

I just realized the significance of the elephant scene. He spent the whole movie trying so hard to be accepted into high society and in the end, he no longer cares what they think. To prove this, he rides in the back of an elephant in view of everyone just to make it in time to see his daughters perform.
I felt they didn’t fit the movie. Musicals need to have the music pull the story forward but in this movie I felt like the music was only made to be catchy and the story plots were just another excuse to get to the next mysical piece
The part where Zac Efron comes sliding in at the last part always gives me goosebumps and is my favorite part. He has a great singing voice and is a great dancer.

Well, tbh Disney remakes didn't even try to be good (apart from Cinderella... And it barely has a couple of songs, so it's not even a musical), they're just a tool not to lose copyrights. This movie has great casting, great songwriting, great story writing, great choreography, a lot of feelings. You can clearly tell that the people who worked for it really cared about making something good.

The look in Zac's eyes when Hugh is handing over the hat to him tears me up. Those few moments of exchanges between them both were so rich: the passing of baton; the old meets new; the regeneration of life, etc, etc. Crazy I only got to see this movie on the plane in Dec 2020 when there were few people on board.
Yeah! Did you notice the little exchange right before Hugh Literally passes the hat through all the actors and then takes it and passes it to Zac...priceless. Such good story telling with pictures.

I like how in the opening version of this song, it was mostly just Barnum singing with a one-man show feel, but in the reprised (end) version, the whole circus is singing and dancing making it more like they've finally become a real family.
It’s incredible how they hold, His name , date of birth and death, documents, Images, And information. on a dude from almost 200 years go to the point where they were able to make a movie about him because he was the greatest showman in history the movie in general and the history behind the man P.T. Barnum is absolutely spectacular.
its a shame P.T. Barnum is a huge piece of shit before he really hit his peak, starting his show by “leasing” a slave and being like “hey y’all check out this 161 year old,” when she was actually in her seventies, blind, and mostly paralyzed if i remember right. also treating his “freaks” barely better than the animals which,,, was not great. the movie itself if fantastic though i agree with you there

Barnum exploited everyone, but they only ever point out the parts that contribute to their part of the narrative. Here's the other part: Mid-19th century America was not a socially inclusive society, nor was any other country then, the "freaks" he displayed were generally shunned and looked at as monsters, few had any consistent jobs. Barnum and his circus gave them work, it made them money and shitloads of it, more than that it gave them family, a community all their own, it made them stars. Barnum himself built multiple theatres, museums, America's first Aquarium, and worked hard to make the Entertainment Industry, long seen as a den of thieves and beggers, be seen in a better light. As for his "leasing a slave", Barnum was a devout Abolitionist, very vocal against the institution of slavery. Yes he bought her from her previous owner but as a blind and half-paralyzed seventy-something year old in 1850s America there wasn't many options for her. So she played the role of a 161 year old woman and thanks to PT Barnum people bought it and paid to see her and she lived comfortably for the remainder of her life

I'm crying. It's such a good movie. I'll never forget the feeling of watching this in the theaters for the first time. I got shivers then and I get shivers to this day.

I just noticed that when zac Efron slides into the ring and starts singing, right when he passes behind one of the characters his red coat dissapears and his shirt is buttoned all the way up. Edit: I also think that they did this to show that the next part is actually in the future when he takes over running the show. I found it really interesting how they did it and how well they did it. its just a theory tho

Finally got around to watching this movie today and I am seriously enchanted. It truly is the Greatest Show. Everybody gangsta 'til Wolverine starts rapping to the sound of horses trotting.
this film is incredibly remarkable and a true masterpiece, I listen to the soundtrack almost every single night and I think this film was made to tell people that they shouldn’t waste away their lives and enjoy it while they still can, I’ve been going through deep depression, anxiety and a little bit of ADHD lately, but this just makes everything better, it gives me hope, positivity and happiness 😘🥰✨💕

Just a day after this movie got released in my country, I had to have a surgery. The biggest surgery I've had in my life so far. I went to see the movie first before getting admitted and I had to rest before the operation. Listened to the soundtracks of The Greatest Showman throughout my time there, and calmed me down right before they bring up to the OR. This movie and song will always have the memory it holds in my life
It's amazing how a movie that was made just right, can affect anything.

I just realized the significance of the elephant scene. He spent the whole movie trying so hard to be accepted into high society and in the end, he no longer cares what they think. To prove this, he rides in the back of an elephant in view of everyone just to make it in time to see his daughters perform.

I felt they didn’t fit the movie. Musicals need to have the music pull the story forward but in this movie I felt like the music was only made to be catchy and the story plots were just another excuse to get to the next mysical piece

The look in Zac's eyes when Hugh is handing over the hat to him tears me up. Those few moments of exchanges between them both were so rich: the passing of baton; the old meets new; the regeneration of life, etc, etc. Crazy I only got to see this movie on the plane in Dec 2020 when there were few people on board.
Yeah! Did you notice the little exchange right before Hugh Literally passes the hat through all the actors and then takes it and passes it to Zac...priceless. Such good story telling with pictures.

I like how in the opening version of this song, it was mostly just Barnum singing with a one-man show feel, but in the reprised (end) version, the whole circus is singing and dancing making it more like they've finally become a real family.

Barnum is a huge piece of shit before he really hit his peak, starting his show by “leasing” a slave and being like “hey y’all check out this 161 year old,” when she was actually in her seventies, blind, and mostly paralyzed if i remember right. also treating his “freaks” barely better than the animals which,,, was not great. the movie itself if fantastic though i agree with you there

Barnum and his circus gave them work, it made them money and shitloads of it, more than that it gave them family, a community all their own, it made them stars. Barnum himself built multiple theatres, museums, America's first Aquarium, and worked hard to make the Entertainment Industry, long seen as a den of thieves and beggers, be seen in a better light. As for his "leasing a slave", Barnum was a devout Abolitionist, very vocal against the institution of slavery. Yes he bought her from her previous owner but as a blind and half-paralyzed seventy-something year old in 1850s America there wasn't many options for her. So she played the role of a 161 year old woman and thanks to PT Barnum people bought it and paid to see her and she lived comfortably for the remainder of her life

I'm crying. It's such a good movie. I'll never forget the feeling of watching this in the theaters for the first time. I got shivers then and I get shivers to this day.

Funny that Hugh Jackman has been in Les Misérables too, guess he's essential for good musical movies...but honestly his singing was meh there.

I just noticed that when zac Efron slides into the ring and starts singing, right when he passes behind one of the characters his red coat dissapears and his shirt is buttoned all the way up.
Edit: I also think that they did this to show that the next part is actually in the future when he takes over running the show. I found it really interesting how they did it and how well they did it. its just a theory tho

I’ve never liked musicals but this right here changed that. Absolutely love this
this film is incredibly remarkable and a true masterpiece, I listen to the soundtrack almost every single night and I think this film was made to tell people that they shouldn’t waste away their lives and enjoy it while they still can, I’ve been going through deep depression, anxiety and a little bit of ADHD lately, but this just makes everything better, it gives me hope, positivity and happiness 😘🥰✨💕
