I know you’ve gone over it before, but with armor changes and hybridization, I find it very helpful when you say which pieces sets are typically run. For example, “This set is typically run on Jewelry and front bar; or “is a body set”. I like when you say what they’re paired with and what content.
There are so many ways to run different gear nowadays. For example Worm is a Light set so you always run it on the Weapons and Jewellery but there are situations now where you might switch it and use it on the hands and waist so you don't have to use the weapons for example. But typically all gear will be Heavy Armor = use on Body but collect weapons and Med/Light = use on Weapons/Jewellery but consider body pieces if needed (Hand/Waist)
Made a spreadsheet for just theoretical realative damage. From a quick calculation the average dps build benefits from roughly 4% damage increase form the mythic. If they spec ONLY into crit chance this can be as high as 6%. This is just using total damage equation for a skill but should be universally pretty accurate. Not sure how it compares to other setups yet though.
I use tormentor with critical charge upgraded to sunder aoe splash damage. Pulls agro better than Chains chains is for bosses free agro to cast with malestrom weapon that causes bleed that is constantly reset by the sunder damage works nice. I use 2h malee weapons the buff from unstoppable brute does not stake with the dk armor ability
I am using Perf Yolna and Drakes on my DK Tank. I typically use him for Dungeon runs. Would it be beneficial to switch out Yolna for PA or do I run it as is.?. Which Monster Set would be most beneficial for this kind of play style. Should I be using the Masters Sword and Board for the heals or should I use the Vateshran set for the pulls. Looking to improve upon my personal skillset as well as my opportunities for the group. Advice is always welcome...
In terms of dungeon setups I have 5 different optimal setups on my website. The thing with dungeons is that you can run a wide range of sets and they are all about as equally good. Yolnahkriin is good but you could switch it out for PA then use Magma Incarnate monster set to still get the Yolnahkriin buff just with a slightly lower uptime or Spaulder of Ruin which is a bigger buff than Minor Courage. thetankclub.com/eso-dungeon-tank-build/ th-cam.com/video/rWWjMDlETZc/w-d-xo.html
Kind of. Lord Warden is a decent early set to pick up but its no where close to the usefulness of Encratis or Spaulder of Ruin and even Engine Guardian is better. Galenwe again, not a bad starter set but the buff you get from it is range based and inconsistent if you dont get hit fast enough by a boss and it relys on your group to be able to light attack weave. Imperium is a set that gives an inconsistent damage shield. You actually get a bigger shield just by casting Igneous Shield most of the time, and with Imperium it will just proc when you get hit which might be when you are in a low damage phase of a fight and then its wasted.
I starded a Necro Imp tank today. Will do 100% Dungeons with 2 friends and Mirri trying to heal me. :D How do I keep up PA as Necro? I don't use Caltrops when I'm using Graveyard right?
A lot of your gear guides will be group specific - all mag or all stam - what things should I look for if I'm running with a mixed group - primarily on vet dungeons?
Are you with an organised group or just random? Just generic stat buffing is more efficient than trying to appeal to every situational group. If you are with a mixed Mag/Stam group then I would use things like Crimson + Drakes/Yol + Spaulder of Ruin for instance as that provides for both people, the Stam DD will not be 100% effective because you are missing Tremorscale but the Mag DD is also not 100% effective because you are using Crimson so you just try to find a middle ground while still offering both people some kind of buff.
What do People have against tormentor set and leech together? I'm rocking that with leeching. I'm thinking of getting rid of leeching for the one that decrease trial, area, and dungeon damage by 10%. But the self heals from Leeching seriously helps if healer isn't full heals. I think the biggest thing is knowing when to block. Alot of vet dungeons have one bosses that can one hit even with my 30k resistance and 40k health. There is no aoe taunt unless you have tormentor with critical charge. Also use malestrom weapon as one of mine so I'm rocking 4 set buffs fully.
great video!! do you have any recommendations for other monster sets you feel would work well for dungeons? rn I have lord warden for my DK and am looking for something for my Necro tank since Earthgore has been nerfed
Self sustain you’ll want engine guardian, if you run spaulder Magma Incarnate 1 piece is nice, MI in general you should have, Encratis is pretty much BiS for group buff in dungeons.
Engine Guardian is honestly amazing on all classes for all content if you are struggling in any way. You get healing and sustain, so long as you don't spam skills and burn out resources fast then this will proc and always give you something you need. For me Lord Warden isn't that useful nowadays because as a Tank we can do all content, even Vet Hardmode Trials with 25k resistances. The only other one that really springs to mind is Bloodspawn for the Ultimate gain can be helpful especially for like a Necro and using the Colossus ultimate more often (or res ult if things aren't going so well!)
What sets would you recommend to a sorc tank? As I'm making one but I'm not entirely sure on what to use currently so I'm thinking about using crimson oath and powerful assault with engine guardian monster set.
The same as every other class of Tank, Class is not really a difference maker on your gear choices all Tanks will mostly use the main sets that they need for their group.
So picking two sets as mainstay, which ones would you go with. Vet dungeon and sprinkled occasional (very) Trials. I realize most good tanks have a different sets to compliment their groups needs but if you were just going to run two and call it a day...
I would typically go with Yolnahkriin + Drakes or Drakes + PA for dungeons then Yolnahkriin + Worm for trials. So many ways to setup for dungeons you just need to follow my Dungeon specific Tank build thetankclub.com/eso-dungeon-tank-build/ th-cam.com/video/rWWjMDlETZc/w-d-xo.html
Honestly I have looked at it a number of times. I can't help but find it difficult to promote due to the inconsistency of it. The only worthwhile debuff you can obtain is the Major Vulnerability, everything else is ineffective, useless or easy to obtain somewhere else in a more consistent way. Major Breach if that procs its 100% wasted as you have that on the enemy already via your taunt. Major Defile is also useless in PvE. Major Maim and Cowardice do not work well with each other like they diminish each other quite bad and Major Maim can already be obtained by Frost Clench. Cowardice isn't a particularly useful Debuff. Major Vulnerability is great but you would need to test the set a lot of times to get an accurate average uptime to judge whether that is worth it compared to other sets that provide 100% buffs.
The only time I do this is in vAS+2 on a non-Necro because both Healers have to maintain positions away from the group and cannot always move in to horn when its needed, only at certain times so you don't want to lose the 10% Stats buff which is when I would Horn, otherwise its a Colossus or Barrier if you have the Warhorn Stats buff already.
The fact you can 1 bar so many sets means you no longer need to worry about pushing a 5 pieces selfish healing set when Masters is just such a good burst heal on top of your healing skills, it makes a big difference in those rough situations.
Drakes rush i absolutely love drakes rush, i'm running drakes with arkasis and bloodspawn i want to ditch arkasis for crimson oath though i don't like to use pots offensively so i'll only proc arkasis maybe 3 times in a dungeon lol , since i started using drakes rush i've become better as a tank because i bash weave more so i get more interrupts and i hold block less, i have become more confident as a tank and my sustain is alot better.. i am going to front bar my perfected master snb now and become tanky af lol

Great video. Doesn’t Crimson Oath debuff mobs with -armor ? I thought that armor decrese refers to both the physical and magical resistance for the trash packs.
@@scytalelolo mag DPS get pen from light armor passives. All mag DPS will hit the pen cap with 7 light armor pieces + Major breach + minor breach (from Pierce armor) + infused staff crusher enchant. Knightmare is effectively useless, you can AoE Minor Maim with Choking Talons on a DK or by just using Frost Blockade. Crimson Twilight, not something I would ever use or advise anyone to use. The most difficult part of Tanking is sustain not self healing. You would be far better off using a Tanky set and pushing more sustain then just casing a self heal skill.
I know you only rank but I haven’t found a healer set video like this. As a trial lead, I’d assume as a tank, are there sets that come to mind? Or does anyone have a video with that gear?
Healers don't really have much room for movement with sets typically. SPC, Hollowfang, Roaring Opportunist, Jorvulds, Martial Knowledge, Zen, Powerful Assault, Spaulder of Ruin, Symphony of Blades and situationally Gossamer. That's basically all healer sets you absolutely need for pretty much every situation with the exception of a few niche fights or situations.
EC is a good set however, as mentioned in the video a huge majority of Tanks struggle to maintain the 3 weaknesses 100% which diminishes its value on a Tank. If your group don't need Worm and you can maintain EC well then its a good set to use.
I'm confused about your statement that it's enough to have Yolnahkriin on the backbar and take an arena shield+1H weapon on the frontbar. Wouldn't that mean that when you taunt with pierce armor you only have 3 pieces of Yolnahkriin active and thus don't activate the 5-piece effect? Or have I misunderstood something?
Just because you can do it, doesn't mean it is always the best option. For example I use Yolnahkriin back bar in vRG Hardmode because I NEED the extra healing from Masters so I proc with Frost Clench and then go on my front bar for the extra healing. In the majority of situations I would use Yol on the body. But a lot of Tank sets are 1 bar-able which means weapon sets have their place.
As a starter tank set why is Ebon Armory better then The Warrior Poet, I get the extra healing taken and health to everyone else but with this patch does everyone really need that one extra 1k health? Wouldn't The Warrior Poet be better getting that extra armor and minor toughness would let you put more point into stamina or magika, this way you can run another set that would better benefit the group more for a 4 man dungeon. Edit also having a food buff would give you more health, thus putting even more point into stamina or magika
Warrior-Poet only relates to you, ebony buffs your group and supports directly. Usually tanks are 90% support. Tho many ditched Ebony already due to the easy accessable health from cp
Well it would do the exact same job in a DLC Vet as it does in the video. It's just not exactly optimal for boss fights, in some DLC dungeons that could be a bit of a problem.
Leeching plus tormentor works great for adds, but I'd swap before hitting a boss... Just not to worm cult or any other ebon clone. Waste of a 5 piece set...
It's just not as useful as the sets mentioned here. If I made a list of just 5 piece gear sets it would barely make the top 10, the buff it provides is very inconsistent due to it needing to be procced so frequently, procced with a range limit that isn't very big and then it requires the damage dealers to be really good at light attack weaving to benefit from the buff.
Not just that but I can proc that same buff with my necro tank (or if you have a necro healer) with empowering grasp and run 2 other sets that help boost the group dps.
Dark convergence. I've been running dark convergence on four Man group dungeons and it makes things a breeze. Pulls all trash together, most people have the trash dead before the ball even explodes what's left I taunt and hold
It's also a 5 piece set and you can achieve the exact same thing by using the 2 piece Vateshran 1H & Shield Void Bash set instead. Void Bash is also 2m bigger range so I don't really see a value in Dark Convergence unless you want something extremely easy to use which is fine if you want but its not an essential set compared to everything else and the fact you have to drop a strong 5 piece set just to pull in enemies is not ideal.
