impressed me with the "variable speed-slower rate-glass works better" towards the end of the video. I did indeed install a variable speed pump last year. '21 electric bill for JULY was 37% cheaper than '20 electric bill! My electric pool heater works at 1900+ RPM so after i get the pool up and running, i put the filter on 1900-2000 RPM. As you know, standard filters run at 3450 RPM and drink electricity. That variable pump saves me a ton of juice! All that being said, my sand filter and multiport are working but are extremely "tired!" Sand in pool from return lines,(probably bad lateral(s),) multiport getting harder to turn, etc. I intend on buying a new 24" Hayward sand filter/multiport and using this GLASS media. Do I still need to use 300 pounds??
Iv been trying to get the activate glass media since last yr and no pool places around me have it and I can't just order from anywhere not being a pool installer!
If you use glass, and during winter season, your laterals or stand pipe cracks, and next season you go to re-open, can glass get into the pool through broken cracks?

I used to dump my sand in the yard and it washes away over time. What is the proper way to dispose of the glass media?

You have to buy separate grades off glass I would suggest only grade 1 and 3

the glass is round not jagged.
My pool has never been so dirty. Glass is awful.
