Thank you so much! I normally do this in inkscape but recently I have purchased all of the Affinity products for my Mac and I am trying to learn them all. This is the best video I have found on TH-cam for doing this particular design. You have a very thorough way of teaching and I will highly recommend you to all of my friends. Thank you so much for your videos. The best that I could find. You explain very well. I’m not a professional designer so sometimes I have difficult to export svg’s. And now, with your videos, I’m understanding the why’s. :). Like I have to expand the stroke before export and use on Cricut Design Space or for some fonts before create a compound, I have to merge the curves. Thank you again.
Thank you so for sharing your knowledge. I am trying to get away from all Adobe products. I have purchased and now make most all of my digital designs in Affinity Photo. I'm more used to PS than Illustrator. I have the trial of Affinity Designer, and I'll be purchasing that as well. I am struggling to get my designs into the layered SVGs that are used by Cricut. So I currently create in AP, export the JPG and PNG from AP, then go back to PS to create the SVG's with paths and fills using the JPG. I would love a tutorial or instruction on how to create the SVG's for the Cricut within AP as well, so I can toss PS for good :) I'm thinking I can open the .aphoto files in Designer, so I'm missing something on the prep before export to keep the color layers separate but within one file. I'm loving your Affinity Video's, they are the most helpful I've found, even more than Affinity's :/
Can you explain how these svgs need to be exported in order to use them with cricut? I when I save the files and attempt to upload them into design space, the problem doesn’t recognize the file
Some fonts, after ungroup you have to go to layers, geometry, merge curves and after create a compound. I don’t know why (I’m not a professional) but works for me.
