    Worm Glue , it's a good idea and if it works it could eliminate the use of stitches. The glue would simply fall off or wears away after healing so no need for double surgery of stitch removal.

    Do they return the worms after using them? I mean, that's a pretty cool ecosystem their disrupting - worms that engineer coral reefs!

      Or maybe they just pick some of worm pairs and they will reproduce themselves, then bring the original back to its place

      They might not even need the worms in the future. They can probably find or even create a synthetic compound closely matching that of the worms extract. For the mean time I am sure they would be grown in some kind of laboratory where they have a method of collecting its extracts left behind by the worms.

    I definitely see this as a key to progress, bolstering our scientific knowledge with more natural, sustainable methods. Sounds much better to massage a worm for its glue than to create a production factory to create materials for surgical sealing.
    Less stitch scars, too!

    Surfers in Cali really need to know this. If you bail into a reef or rock and slice yourself open, this would be a handy bit of information to have. I mean, you wouldn't have to go far to find one.

  • @iconforu2c
    @iconforu2c 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Sounds really good. But what about scar tissue? does that mean it would leave less of one or any at all? I have heard that in some cases where the person has had several operations simply cannot have another surgery's due to the previous scar tissue from past operations. My friends daughter was blind from birth and had several operations. As time went on they found better technology that may give her sight but the issues was the scar tissue, so they never did go further.

      I think the made another video about a protein that is produced by humans but shuts off as we get older and it helps with "regeneration". and we can theoretically make bandages that eliminates scarring.

  • @HungryGuyStories

    Yes. As long as it's sterile. Sutures and staples are painful, I don't care what the surgeons say. They are! I'd love to be glued together after surgery.

    I always wanted a case of worms. No, I mean an actual case of worms. What better way to prank a Walmart bathroom. Just sneak it in underneath of a baby carrier in a shopping cart, take it out from underneath of it in the hallway next to the bathroom, go into the bathroom and sprinkle the case all around the stalls and urinals, then leave the case outside of the bathroom door. The next days newspaper headline would read " Walmart recieves a case of the worms ". Bwahahahaha ...

  • @inochifumetsu
    @inochifumetsu 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    SO cool.. One question: Our skin is there for a myriad of reasons - not the least of which, though, is to protect us from UV radiation yes?
    Should we really be firing a blast of UV into our internal organs to help the adhesive set???

    • @seatbelttruck
      @seatbelttruck 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everything needs to be balanced. UV rays can do nasty damage, but usually only with massive/continuous exposure. A slice in a heart will kill you a lot quicker. It's potentially a justified risk (of course, research is needed to see how the risks actually pan out).

    Seeing that I have damage to my heart due to a doctor screwing up, I would love to see what can come of this. I have no SV node and all things I have read about fixing this, so I am no longer dependent on the pacemaker, would require the heart to be opened up directly. Yeah slime me up, I want to live longer. I want to see my 30's, 40's and so on. If I had to I'd drink to slime if drinking it could fix my heart.
