  • ABS & TRACTION LIGHTS DIAGNOSED AND FIXED FAST & EASY DIY 2011-2017 KIA SORENTO HYUNDAI SANTA FE
    Hey guys in this video we show you how to figure out what’s wrong with your ABS & Traction Control System in your car
    Every time you see these lights it usually means that you need a wheel speed sensor on a certain wheel.
    In this video we used a obd II scanner to read the abs codes in the vehicle!
    Then we determined which part was damaged - did a visual inspection to make sure the wires are not damage and in good condition.
    Hope you learned something today. Don’t forget to hit that like and subscribe button for us!

    We just had this happen to my 2014 Sorento. Thank you so much for doing this video! You saved us a lot of time and money! My husband was able to switch everything out without issue!

    Thanks for posting this video. I have a 2014 Sorento with ABS and Traction Control lights on. I don’t have a good enough scanner to read the ABS codes.
    Edit: I went to an auto parts store. The man scanned my car and it showed the left rear sensor was bad. They had a replacement hub that I bought. Then I went home and installed it exactly as your video showed. Thanks.

    Ended up getting the 5160RS tool that you have. Right wheel sensor was bad. Ordered replacements for both wheels on my 2011 Kia base model. I did not have to jack up the spring to relieve pressure as all 4 hub bolts were accessible. One of the easiest jobs I have done on the Kia. Replaced both in a little more than an hour. No bolts were frozen and the hubs came right out with little effort. Thanks for posting your video it was a great help. Now need to replace both front axles.

    I am experiencing the same issue with the tire pressure sensor as well. I noticed in the video that the tire pressure icon was still present after the repair, any insight on how to get that removed after the repair?

    What's the brand of your obd2 scanner buddy..? Is it available in Lazada. Thanks.

    Great info. Going to buy a better diagnostic tool to check my wheel sensors as I have the ABS and traction lights on and was looking at the innova 5160RS that you used in the video. Innova has a 5610 also. Do you have any recommendation on which one is better? The 5610 looks to be around $90 more than the 5160RS.

    Ty for your instructional video. I own a 2013 Hyundai Tucson w/ 95,000 miles. All three ABS, ESC,DBC lights intermittently turn on/off frequently. Assuming to follow your video for a resolution to this issue?

    What if it fixes the abs lights but AWD light stays on? That is my problem and the AWD light didn’t come on until we replaced front wheel hubs.

    I have a Kia Forte/CErato 2014.
    Traction light is now continuously on. When I am driving it feels like I am driving against brakes that are being applied.
    If I am at super slow speeds, like creeping, the car may even stall. Trying to get to top speed the car struggles and if i let off the gas the car slows faster than normal.
    Do I have a big problem (especislly the part where it seems to be braking)... I've already spent a lot to repair other stuff that I am considering selling if this will cost an arm and a leg. Please help.

    Usually its easier to press down the wire on the clip instead of removing it.

    I might have misunderstood, but if the sensor was bad, why did you replace the whole assembly? Can’t you get just a new sensor?

    • @HidalgoMotorsCo
      @HidalgoMotorsCo  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      great question. the assembly itself is the sensor. that is why we had to replace the entire assembly. it comes as one piece.

    • @aneurisbido9057
      @aneurisbido9057 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No need to replace the whole assembly. Just replace sensor which is $40.

    I hate to be a naysayer, but you didn't actually "diagnose" anything, you read the codes and just ASSUMED you had a bad sensor and subsequently threw a part at it. It fixed yours, but you can't say you actually diagnosed anything, you just made an educated guess and it happened to work out. I currently have a 2017 Sorento in my shop with the codes C1209 (like yours) and a C1206, and sure, I could throw sensors on it...and it wouldn't have fixed anything. In my case, this particular car has a wiring problem that I haven't found yet, but thankfully I checked it properly and found no 12V+ reference voltage at the harness connector...so most likely my sensors are fine.

    So you're gonna have the common. People believe you have to do all that to get the caliper off and that is not the case you're taking the caliper bracket off. You need to specify what you were doing because if they do all that just to get the caliper off to change the brightpads because of your video, it could go bad for somebody.

      99 percent of the time the battery is bad in the sensor. It's generally not serviceable so it's tossed and a new one is installed 😊
