So the rumor about Germany's deindustrialization is real? The question is now how large-scale it could be... 🤔 Germany can't just move to service sectors, such as Tourism (France), Software Engineering (India), Financial Service (UK), or Fashion (France/Italy). What else could Germany do to compensate for the loss of manufacturing?

Recently, tsmc made huge investment in germany for Europe's largest semiconductor plant. Also, small german companies are certainly evolving. Only the car industry is suffering. German idustry will shift to high technology manufacturing such as soCs and other niche products.

VW was the only German car company serious about EV technology...... The problem with the German economy is three fold i.e. (i) Over dependence on Russian energy & Lousy domestic energy policy = end of German manufacturing base (ii) All export dependent economies are struggling to come to terms with the multi-polar world order (iii) German business mindset that is not "LEAN" (Six sigma) and lacks customer focus..

  • @OKEN1117

Germany cut off their supply of cheap energy supplies from Russia reduces their industrial competitiveness.
Germany leaving the Russia market hurts their revenues from German industrial products.
This is a very simple end result that Germany economy will suffer badly from their own political decisions.

  • @SunshineShane

Compared to the USA and China: very high (and highly taxed) energy cost: electricity/ natural gas/ diesel and fuel; highly taxed wages; excessive bureaucracy, taxation on all levels and state regulation. How can an energy-dependent industry survive in a global economy - when elsewhere that necessary and exactly same production factor is much cheaper? By wishful thinking..... - or by producing elsewhere?
