    I think going down a slippery hill with a short control cable that makes you stand in front of the hauler is a disaster waiting to happen. Get some gravel and a longer cable so you can stand to the side

    Great job on that I love it! Wish I had it for moving my firewood conveyor around.

    Nice! I use my skidsteer which is fast and powerful , but requires eyes. A backup camera would save me having to get off and on to operate in tight spaces. You can move side to side with your remote control. Really nice machine you built 👍

    Will find , having the hitch above drive axle would be more beneficial to take the weight and castor wheels won't get bogged in.
    Disappointed no actual movement of trailer.

      It can't move the trailer, the power wheels will slip..... A truck with the load of a semi-trailer on the steering wheels.

    Looks Extremely Heavy Duty !

    could totally use this! our family stores boats at the campground, in a barn, and once they get backed in 6-10 of us push them into place. It would also help to move the parallel parked campers

    I think it is a great idea. I already see it hired for the HVAC business. You don't know how much it needed for us? who have a deal with a heavy Package Units or High Tech Condensers. And sure, want to see how well it goes with your trailer. Big respect to you (not for HOA!)

    Great job, I will be interested to see it pull the trailer, you may be putting too much of the drawbar weight on the castor wheels and not enough on the drive wheels. She’s a good solid build though cheers

    Like it......you could use a bottle jack to lift the the tow ball that leave all your power for the movement

    Lol. I want to see it being used pulling that trailler on the muddy hill like he said.

    great invention I think in the mud you may have better luck with ag tires though just a thought.

    Very cool. Pretty muddy. Good thing you didn't move it, I'd hate to see that trailer sliding down the hill. What motors are powering it? They're really quiet.

    I think HOA's suck. I'd move so you can regain your freedom. :-)
    My experience moving things on wet clay soil is disaster.
    I bought a big 7000 lb antique tractor so I could pull things out that got stuck in wet clay soil.
    Its like grease and dirt mixed together. Put down some 2" crushed angular rock and let that settle then put down some finer stone.

    weld a stand on platform and a post to mount the controls . there ya go, I"ll take my 10% after you sell 2 of them. lol I did that with a 3 wheel mobility scooter , the 3 wheels seemed to work better

  • @oldowl4290
    @oldowl4290 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great build. I really need to make one of these soon. And I hope you didn't try to push that trailer back down your muddy hill lol. I would also think that placing the main drive wheels right in line with the hitch point would be more ideal from a traction standpoint. I see that many others are built that way so I'm curious as to why yours is opposite.

  • @cmcconn100
    @cmcconn100 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's cool. You definitely overbuilt it. Does a trailer tug need independent suspension? I'd add the lift functionality to the remote.

    I'm no engineer but id say that wont work going up hill or even down hill ! One, it would just slide the trailer downhill even with breaks on and two, there would not be enough torque to pull it up. As soon as the brakes come off the trailer it would roll downhill.

  • @timlovejoy7616

    Seems like he was having trouble controlling it without a load. It also looked like it was trying to attack him a couple times. Gee I hope it didn't get him. It was about the size of a riding lawnmower, so maybe he's busy building a garage to keep it in.

      solo enterprises Hi Solo Enterprises. I appreciate your interest in my trailer dolly. I built it to access a trailer I couldn’t access with my car (muddy hill). I did move the trailer in the vid because it was overloaded for a test run. Since then it has become one of my most used and helpful gadgets I’ve built. As far as building more for other people, I’m consumed finishing a rat rod build for its debut Apr 16 at Pigeon Forge Tennessee spring rod run. Take a look at Rivet Rat and tell me what you think. Thanks for all your comments/constructive criticisms.
    Sorry I’m just now responding, I wasn’t aware folks took interest let alone commented, I didn’t even know I had followers.
    Note to self. Even though rat rods are my main focus (see vids), build everything as smart as I can as folks will take notice.
    A trend among the comments is disappointment I didn’t move the trailer.
    This was because several reasons;
    - It was the maiden voyage and was interested in if it could even lift the trailer, and it did.
    - The trailer was full and much too heavy for the slope.
    - The ground was much too muddy for the first trial in fear of losing traction.
    But I know none of this matters to you, So,,,,
    The trailer dolly has passed the test of time, still being used and not another unpractical idea, so I will make a follow up vid satisfying your curiosity, “will it move the trailer?”.
    Thx again

      jerry brose Hi Jerry. I’m in White co. just 3 miles outside of Cartersville. Sorry I’m just now replying, oh, only 12 hrs ago, not too bad. I’m new to having ppl follow my TH-cam channel. Having followers or making TH-cam $ wasn’t my intention at all. I like making vids and was using TH-cam as my project library and think I accidentally placed vids to the public. Anyway I’ll need to read your other comment regarding the “solid axel. Thx bro
