It's official. I'm in love. With the city of Utrecht and this country in general. The Netherlands is everything I could want. Autumn is my favorite season of the year, hands down, and to get to be in such a beautiful, serene place... and enjoy the water, and the crisp weather, the natural beauty, delicious food. Just heavenly. This is now in my top 2 favorite places you've been. I could totally see myself living here.
There's a lot of US citizens there because there used to be an Air Force base. It's truly captivating, I met so many friendly people. Zeist is only a 20 minute drive away.
Going to The Netherlands in 2025 for my 40th birthday to see the tulips in bloom! Looking forward to seeing the places you're showing in you're vlogs! Everything about this vlog was wonderful! The food, the conversation about how to steer the paddle boat, the scenery... wonderful!

First I saw your vlog of Gouda, the city I basically grew up in and now seeing you in my hometown Utrecht.... Hope you had a great time here in The Netherlands.
+James Taihuttu Stroopwafels are NOT addictive. definitely not. No way. I can stop eating them at any time I choose. It's just that I don't choose to do so. Why should I? I have nothing to prove - I know I'm not addicted. They are available in packs of 10 from Lidl in the UK. Other supermarkets (Aldi, ASDA) stock them, too, but Lidl's are the best. +KajiRider1997 Never been successful with the microwave. Parts ooze the caramel filling and parts stay hard. 3 minutes on top of a mug of tea works for me. For the benefit of native English speakers who mangle the Dutch word, it's pronounced "stroap-vaffle", as near as makes no difference.
Love Utrecht! Such a beautiful town! I think during the two weeks I was there, we covered pretty much the entire city(and then some!) It was so much fun. The first thing I did though when I got off the plane was eat a Stroopwafel and it was immediate love. They are amazing and I will admit to eating so many of them. So many! Hope you guys had an amazing time and I definitely hope you got to check out some windmills! They are beautiful. I loved The Netherlands.

Nate had the name for Kinderdijk spot on :) I am from Utrecht myself btw. As for the name.... forget it rather but if you really want to try think of this the name is two parts U and trecht, the Dutch pronounce the U a bit like in English but you have to leave the J sound out, the trecht part is more difficult, the e is sounding like.... "eh" the ch is pronounced like a very sharp G ( you obviously heard the "rasping throat" noise we make during talking) and the T's are clearly pronounced as well

I have gotten a bit addicted to your vlogs during this quarantining, beginning with your latest ones, Fiji, Antartica, the race to get to Singapore. Then the train rides (love trains!), Bangladesh, Chernobyl, and the terrifying walk across that glacier (so proud of you!). You're adorable and adventurous. I'm pretty sure I'm going to watch every single episode before they let us out into the world again. I lived in Amsterdam from 1997-2016, so I was excited to find that you had visited there. It was, indeed, very nostalgic for me to follow along as you explored my old stomping grounds. I recognized nearly every location you filmed. But I was also really angry. In all the other adventures I'd come along on you looked for the authentic experience, the pulse of the place; you did your research, but here you made so many of the worst tourist mistakes. A car? Canal Bikes? You're mildly offended after seeing sex workers in windows without mentioning that you are in the oldest part of the city full of enchanting architecture and a rich history. Then, ah, I see, this was back in 2016! And I thought, look how far they've come. Not just in miles, but in experience and wisdom. And editing skills. Having said all that, these are the ones I will watch over and over. You still got a lot of it right. And you're always adorable.
This video came into my recommendation and it’s fun to see how u guys experience Utrecht! I was born here and still visit it often (I moved to the east if the Netherlands) If you ever come here again I recommend Zwolle and maybe Gouda. I also recommend Deventer but that is just because I live here haha
After you went to New Zealand where I life you go to Holland the country I a original from awesome. I was laughing about you trying to say the Dutch words. I love bitterballen and the dutch fries is so good. I have been back last year and the begin of this year is so much fun to be a tourist in Holland.
Worked near to Utrecht many years ago near a quaint walled town called Ijsselstein, was a fantastic place with very friendly locals including bizarrely a group of Hells Angels who befriended me and took me to a beach party!!
yes! Utrecht is so much better than Amsterdam (in my opinion, amsterdam just stinks of weed and is way to crowded. and then you got Utrecht, les crowded same pretty canals. lovely) I go to school there.

Visit the small town of Laren. Its a affluant village in the "Het Gooi" region. A beautifull gem in the heart of the Netherlands.

You should have visited The Hague!!!! It's so nice, there's the beach, the parliament, great shops and food, china town, and so much more!

In Brooklyn, NY there is a New Utrecht High School. (Remember NY used to be Dutch.) We say U-trek.
